The Hormones and Birth control pills

The main problem is that I want to leave estrogen+progesterone pills (similar as hormone based birth control pills) that I am having from last 3 years; and also wants to neutralize the affects of these hormonal supplements from my body. I was prescribed these pills in 2009, after being diagnosed with moderate increase in the level of a male hormone ‘testosterone’.
I was reading about the side affects of these hormonal tablets. have also detected with fibrocystic disease of Brests last year.
I had tried to discontinue the use of pills last year; but suspension for two months had lead to acne and hirsutism like hair growth on the body. An endocrinologist also suggested me that sudden withdrawal from these hormonal supplements will create serious problems in my body in the long run. So, I had started them again.
These days I was reading about the alternatives to get rid from these hormones. Have read a lot about organotherapies as folliculinum and oophorinum. But at the same time found quite dis-agreements among the different homeopaths over the potencies to be used, and the frequency of doses. Although many agrees that low dilutions have stimulant effect, so can stimulate the internal production of these hormones. Have also got to know some homeopathic remedies as Nat Mur, Cyclamen etc. used to balance out things. But still I am not able to find any clear and sure way out.
Really serious about - not to buy another 21 tablet packet of hormonal pills Hoping for some help from the Eminents present on this forum.

11. Diabetic or non-Diabetic - non-Diabetic
13. Thirst - Normal

12. Desire sweets/sour/salt 14. Tongue and Taste 29. Desires, likes and dislikes for food 30. Name of foods which increase your problem
loves sweets, although avoids the same being health conscious. likes fast food as well, but much of chili, leads to swelling under the right side of chin, and also to flow of water from my nose and eyes. Anyhow, being health conscious, I don’t take either sweets or spicy food.
Vegetarian since childhood. Foods as curd, butter-milk makes my stomach feel good; although I felt medicines disturbing that balance.
Otherwise also I think as if my stomach had grown sensitive over time. things like onion, that I used to eat frequently with diet earlier, makes me feel acidic now.

stools hard

Thermal preferences -- like to sleep warm by getting myself covered by a sheet. Prefer moderate climate. Sometimes I may have thirst for chilled water, although I never have this.
15. Current BP (without medicine)
this is how BP is recorded in the last year:
October 2010 – 105 /70
November 2010 – 120/80
April 2011 – 110/ 70

32. Aggravation (increases-time, season,)& Amelioration (Decreases)
36. Color of the secretions/discharges e.g urine, stool, sputum, Saliva etc. – changing as per the drugs am having.

For Females Only
37. When is the period during the month approx date? Any monthly cycle issues? Regular, early, late, before problems, after problems, pain, any other discharges?

The last period was 24-28 August. Never had any monthly cycle issues till date. Cycles started at the age of 12. used to be heavy in the beginning. Started synthetic hormone pills in June 2008; so was having the standard 21+7 day (21 days on pill +7 )cycle since then; with moderate bleeding. Ya, From the last few months I am noting lot of dark blood clots in menstrual blood.

As a teen I used to get normal white discharge; but have not had this from last few years.

Other general details:

Overall build – tall, thin. I guess my body is hard and less-flexible when compared with average of women.
Skin - Fair, dry and hairy. Occasional itching over the body, particularly on thighs and legs. moderate pigmentation on the cheeks, appeared 2 years back due to hormonal pills. There is also enlarging of skin pores on the face, in last years; this change too I associate with hormones.
Mouth and throat .—Tongue with little whitish coating in the morning. Throat - Occasional swelling under the jaw, on the left side of the chin, while talking food. I associate this swelling with an infection that i had got in the gum area under tongue around seven years back. and was detected with a stone like thing at the same place around 5 years back. I usually think that material collected in that area during infection had actually shown up as a stone later. anyhow the stone was surgically removed. But that problem of swelling, while eating, still there.
Nose – Clean and dry inside. I was trying to understand it in terms of the diminished excretory function of the body, due to shrinking or some other reason. But cannot be sure on this thing as there are no apparent changes in other excretory functions of the body, as in urination. Occasionally I have the feeling as if sufficient air is not passing though nose or airways. sometimes it may feel partially blocked upon arising in the morning.
Chest - Feeling of shrinking somewhere in-between the chest with any negative thought or fear in my mind. Its like shrinkage at the area of downside the sternum. This problem of shrinking, although, seems alleviated after having Nat Mur 200 for a week.
Respiratory - I had suffered from continuous breathing problems for a year, starting from mid October 2010 to july 2011.. The problem was the inability to breathe deep or to yarn. Feeling of suffocation, as if sufficient air was not passing inside. Always feeling the need to yawn or to breath deep, but difficultly in yarning or breathing deep. Inspirations were like Hollow inspirations and expiration usually quick. Worse lying down.
I don’t know what exactly was the problem. X-ray reports were all normal. Minor things like “Early small airway obstruction and mild restriction” was observed in Pulmonary functioning tests. One respiratory specialist said that it as ‘anxiety’ and another as ‘allergic rhinitis’.
Had seen a homeopath who said its due to squeezing of things inside the chest.
Heart.-- The breathing problem was accompanied by high Heart beat, at around 100 per minute, in the months of June, July. Although occasionally, but also used to feel as if heart is beating with quite force; like jumping to come out. These problems subsidized in last months; quite normal now.
Anyhow there are still times when I can feel the pulse in some other part of body; but not that often.

Mind-behavior, anger, irritability, hurry, impatient…and so on.. How are you different from other persons, public speaking or not , you can describe all of the details about your behavior, love and affections.
I Thinks of myself as quite a strong, confident and optimistic person. Free, Independent, Decisive, clear and determined. Having “Never Give up” attitude. But quite weak on emotional side, and have “running away, or avoiding” attitude whenever in emotional spheres.
Passionate and Artistic, Perfectionist as well, don’t like making much adjustments, rather always keep trying to change the things for better. Also don’t like much restrictions.
Quite creative and imaginative; can spend hours ‘day dreaming’ without getting bored.
Absent-minded, forgets things
Good in organizing planning out things, and making schemes and shortcuts. can co-ordinate and convince people; but finds this task quite disturbing; a task that steels the peace from your mind; and I think I should better keep myself far away from the tasks of managing people
Quite comfortable in interviews or on the stage performance.
Likes festivals, attending marriages, dance parties.
Very affectionate to birds and animals, since my very childhood, Cannot imagine to hurt even the insects. Sympathetic to old and poor people
Introvert. Likes limiting myself to very few people; cannot manage many in my life.
Rarely seek consolation. Quite secretive. Rarely indulge in serious private talks.
Sensitive. Minds humiliating comments. easily hurted. Easily irritated as well.
Have got low tolerance against bullies or injustice. After a limit, Such things can burst me out, engaging in very direct fights. Although I think, I have got more chances of fighting back when irritated; but very less chances of saying anything when hurted.
Changes in behavior - sometimes will be laughing like anything and jumping around. Other times very quiet and smiling.
While talking - will be non-serious, witty, laughing while talking some times. But quite peaceful at the other time, just sitting quite and enjoying listening and observing other people. Quite easy, simple and friendly while talking with strangers, but feels irritated if those strangers keeps on giving me regular phone calls afterwards. There, they may appear like “forcible intruders” to me.
Usually in tears while watching movies, but feels it embarrassing to get observed as weeping, by others. Have also have got chances of to be in tears, with my voice choked, while discussing something tyrannical. feel it embarrassing to weep publically, but it will be just impossible to control tears once they started; so i likes to flee away from the place. but have faced such situations very-2 rarely. Anyhow this difficulty in controlling tears is not alone -- when it comes to controlling myself, then there are also plenty of times, when I felt quite difficult to control laughing as well. In fact there were times when I was expelled out of class for uncontrolled laughing, during my graduation. or the times with teachers questioning me the reason behind my persistent smile.
Egoistic - I also counts myself among the egoistic people, as I really don’t like criticism.
Fear ghosts, and also think it as unreasonable fear. fear unknown problems as well. always want to know things better and deeper, it puts me at ease.

But anyway; I feel, I was blissfully happy and at peace internally for all of my life; except the last few years.
Particularly the phase of 2009-10 has taught me what is called to be depress, or to be always tired and wasting time for nothing. That phase was featured by things as low on spirit, general sadness, low on well power, lacking concentration, generally lazy and tired, doing nothing; getting disturbed or irritated over minor things etc. Particularly pity arguments or silly comments bringing my brain to a complete jam. A slight argument with anyone used to make me lose focus completely, as the mind used to go back to that conversation again and again. Have also tolerated some rude people, having habit of insulting others or passing comments on others, during that phase.
In that period I have also witnessed some nights with insomnia. Taking a long time to fall asleep. keeping awake and building up imaginary conversations. And also have some nights with very clear explicit dreams. or the dreams where I used to run, like doing things hurriedly to catch the train, or in hurry to accomplish a task before the time is over, or running to avoid some situation or to hide from things etc; and these type of dreams usually waked me up shivering. Although these were very few nights with these problems, but they disturbed me some nights.

Overall, in these last years, I was losing the internal peace and happiness that I always possessed earlier. But anyhow these problems have subsidized to a great extent, in past few months. Have also tried wonderful techniques as “meditation”, with positive results. And again I have this dream to be blissfully happy in future with plenty of dreams. Also dreaming to stay away from anything disturbing.

20. What comes to your mind? 
How I can get the better understanding of current happening in my body; and wants to search the best and less invasive ways to cure those problems.
18. How does this affect you?
Its affecting me in the way that, everyday am searching new things regarding the general functioning of body and reading medical research papers.
19. How does it feel like? – sometimes I feel its OK I will handle it. sometimes I feel there can be more problems inside than what is already diagnosed. The un-diagnosed things, side-effects of medicines and limited knowledge means long-term risks and uncertainties – which is not a very good feeling.

25. Current and previous remedies/medicines you are taking or took in the past?
Medical history –
I had got jaundice once in my very childhood [at the age of one and a half year], nothing major after that. Rather I was quite a healthy person in school and college time. Used to eat a lot and healthy and also doing physical exercises; was quite happy and at peace in my teens.
But around 5 years back, after shifting to hostel, I got shifted to poor eating habits, skipping meals frequently; most of the time having just one or two meals a day. BUT things were still good enough.
Around in 2007, I was diagnosed with a stone like thing in my mouth; gum stone under tongue; which was surgically removed in 2007. The surgery was followed by an infection in the operated area, requiring me to have anti-biotics for around 2 months.
In 2008 I have detected a tiny hard tumor in my right B, which was diagnosed as a benign by pathologist. Around the same time I started getting acne over face and body. That was quite a surprising thing for me to start acne in 20s, as have not had such problem as a teen. Consulted a dermatologist, who attributed this acne problem to increase in the level of testosterone (they say it a male hormone). That male hormone, which was supposed to be in the range of 0 – 1.2ng/ml. for women, was diagnosed at 2.1ng/ml. for me. Although the increase was not very alarming, as suggested by a gynecologist; but the dermatologist prescribed me anti-androgens Diane35 (estrogen + progestogen pills), to block the affect of the increased testosterone.

In the year 2009, my poor eating had started to show its colors, and I had suffered near starvation, tiredness and digestion problems and loss in weight from 56kg to 42kg in the matter of a year. that physical tiredness was accompanied by psychological tiredness as well.
Had also got fungal infections of vulva three times in 2009.
In beginning 2010, I had Ultrasound Scan to know about the status of mine old Breast benign. That scan diagnosed me with fibrocystic disease in Both breasts. Around the same time I had also observed a tiny node backside my right ear (which was dissolved later; may be due to some homeopathic medicines I had in October 2010). At that time I had associated these problem with poor nutrition and synthetic hormones and decided to change both. So feeding myself well from that time, and have recovered to a greater extent from that physical weakness.
I tried to leave the estrogen+ progestogen pills, around a 1-1/2 years back. But it had resulted in acne and hirsutism like hair growth. Had consulted an endocrinologist about that, who said that stopping these hormones can create serious short term and long term problems in my body so I should better continue having those pills for infinity. did not wanted to take any risk so had continued with hormones, side by searching some safe alternative.

In the beginning of October 2010, I had visited a homeopath for problems as tiredness, frequent temperature, infrequent desire to go toilet, benign etc., He had packed me lot of medicines, of different types, to be finished in one month. Anyhow in the mid way, I have started feeling some breathing difficulties and was not able to finish his one month prescription.
Had visited a chest specialist, regarding breathing problems, in the end of October 2010; who found no fundamental problem in x-ray, and observed just small airway obstruction in pulmonary Function tests; and attributed my problem to something like anxiety or allergic rhinitis. I was prescribed Cetrizines to meet allergy and relaxants to meet anxiety. Had these allopathic medicines for the months of November, December and January.

The problem worsened in the months of end April and May; so had the similar allopathic medicines again. One of the tablet “Jovipan D” prescribed for breathing issues, in May, also caused allergic reaction on the skin. it lead development of tiny blood spots on my feet and hands. The spots disappeared over time as I discontinued the use of those medicines. Anyhow even while eating medicines, my difficulties in breathing deep or to yarn remained.

Had seen a homeopath in june for respiratory problems. he had tried different remedies, each for 8 days. He had also prescribed me a homeopathic tonic “Alvine” containing - Alfalfa (0.250ml), Avena sativa (0.125ml), Withania somnifera (0.150ml), Crataegus oxyacantha (0.150ml), Dramiana (0.012ml), Passiflora incarnate (0.250ml), Nux vomia 30 (0.012ml), Anacardium orientalis 6x (0.012ml), Kali phos 3x (50mg), Ferrum phos 3x (50mg), Magnesia phos 3x (12.50mg), Calcarea phos 3x (12.50mg), Natrum muriaticum 3x (12.50mg), Acid Phos 2x (0.125ml). Condition started improving after around 3 weeks of having 3 different remedies. He told that my problem is something like squeezing of heart and lungs. 1 month and half of different remedies had brought the respiration to nearly normal; but after normalizing, it again started worsening; although I was still on the same remedies. The Physician asked to have the same remedies for another 12 days, but it did not help and I stopped taking any drugs after finishing that 12 day prescription. To surprise the problem alleviated automatically in few days after leaving the drugs. It had been more than a month since then, and my respiratory condition is nearly normal. From some months I am also using techniques as Pranazama (breathing exercises).

Have not had any drugs for two months of August and September, except the hormonal pills. In the last week of September I had Nat Mur200, for 5 days 26sept – 30sept., with three doses a day.
It had not shown any visible symptoms on the first 2 day of that remedy. On the 3rd day of this remedy, although I felt as if my respiratory problems are going to knock back. On that night i waked up at 3 O clock in the night, having fear like sensation in the chest. On day fourth also I had similar feelings as day 3rd. On the 5th day on Nat Mur200, I had noticed some redness of skin inside the lower lip. There was also that small-2 blister kind of thing on the lower lip; which was tasting salty. There was similar kind of development inside the throat as well, as there was moderate irritation inside the throat while eating food. That redness of skin inside the lip disappeared after 2-3 days of stopping the drug. But it appeared again as I started NatMur again on 6th October. To the positive things, I think that remedy had alleviated that shinking in between the chest that used to incur with negative thought or fear in mind.

9. List of your complaints –
The main problem, as I mentioned earlier, is that I want to leave synthetic hormone pills that I am having from last 3 years; and wants to bring the endocrine system to balance. Although due to the warning by the endocrinologist that long term exposer to unblocked testosterones will be risky, I was not able to get off it.
Here is the composition of those pills, if it interests anybody – Composition – Each tablet contains small amount of Cyproterone acetate 2mg (a progestogen with anti-androgenic properties) and ethinylestradiol 0.035mg (an estrogen).

Well it looks alot like Ignatia to me. The heightened sensitivity definitely seems to suggest you need a plant remedy over an animal or mineral one. There are a number of Cactus family themes in the chest area - Shrinking and Squeezing are keywords for that group.

Looking at the following symptoms:

Desire to breath deep
Perfectionistic
Introverted
Averse to consolation
Sensitive to humiliation
Changeable moods
Controlled tears
Averse to weeping where others can see
Need to control (or swallow) the emotions
Sensitive to criticism

...this would suggest either Nat-mur or Ignatia, but I cannot see the mineral themes at all in your case, whereas the plant themes are quite prominent. Ignatia and Nat-mur are considered differentitals, and considering you got something out of Nat-mur, then Ignatia is a reasonable choice.

My advice would be to get Ignatia 200c and follow these instructions for administering it.

INSTRUCTONS FOR SPLIT DOSING

Firstly, you need to create a separate dosing bottle. Get a bottle with a dropper, 15-30mls in size, and fill it with a mixture of water and alcohol (5 parts to 1 part). Dissolve 2 granules or 2 drops of the medicine you bought from the pharmacy into this mixture. Your doses will be made from this bottle.

Hit the bottle firmly against the palm of your hand, or another elastic surface like a book. It should be a firm hit not a tap. 2 hits is enough to begin with, and should not be increased unless it is clear that it is needed. The water in this bottle will 'remember' the number of times you have hit it, so that subsequent doses will be stronger (necessary to overcoming the resistance of your disease).

Place 1 drop into an amount of water - I may start with anything from 1/4-1 full cup (62ml-250ml) depending on the sensitivity of the patient. Stir thoroughly and take 1 teaspoon into the mouth. Throw the rest of the cup away.

This is one dose. Repeat doses would be started from the 2 hits on the bottle.

Each step of this process can be adjusted to reduced aggravation or to increase the effect of the medicine. In order to be able to do this, it is important to measure each step (count the hits, the drops, measure the water etc).

Start with 1/4 cup of water, and take one dose only.

Depending on the reaction, I might also lean towards Cactus grandiflorus, which can resemble Ignatia to some degree, but I think Ignatia covers the case better.

Dear sir, thankful for your interest.
I have enquired about Ignatia 200c, hope will be able to procure it in next 3days.

Anyway here are some corrections and additions needed in the information provided in the questionnaire and a doubt to share.

1. By mistake I have filed a wrong information while fulfilling the details. In section on ‘For Females Only’, by mistake I have filed date of last period as 24-28 August; it was actually 24-28sept. it just went off my mind that last month was Sept. and not Aug. so made that mistake; It would have been sounding like as if am missing on cycles; Thus misguiding the analysis. sorry for it.

Another important thing is that, my respiratory condition is changing for negative from last few days. I fear that am going to start those breathing difficulties again. feeling my nose very dry and sore inside, and also feeling as if not able to inhale sufficient air. To yarn or to breath deep becoming harder day by day. It is clearly moving towards the need to see a respiratory specialist soon. I don’t know whether its happening due to change in weather to cool and dry, or its due to Nat Mur200; as I have started noticing the change from the time I had started Nat Mur. As I mentioned earlier, earlier also I had suffered from this problem for many months and have taken cetrizines, anti- anxiety drugs, and had types of homeopathic drugs as well for this. it was normal for the months of Aug and Sept, without drugs; but its again here. If you can suggest some remedy to sort it out.

One another thing as mentioned about synthetic hormones; what I should be doing; should I continue with them. and if not than what I should be doing?? Will the sudden withdrawal from pills will not create any problem.

Last, Just wanted to share a doubt as well, that I have got regarding homeopathic remedies in context of mine problems, from long. I guess homeopathy takes psychology into consideration because your mind behavior stress, etc. produces a specific type of nerve and hormone response and thus creating specific problems in body. So any remedy targeted at the mind behavior will sort out the problems produced by that specific mind behavior. But in my case I feel that most, although not all, of the problems are caused by external factors as -- wrong drugs as - 3years on synthetic hormones, occasional anti-biotics etc., plus depriving my body from the food that it requires to manage everything, nearly starved it for months. I may be completely wrong, due to my lopsided knowledge about medical things, but this doubt is always there in my mind whenever I read about homeopathic remedies. Will be greatly thankful if somebody can clarify on this.

If any other information required, please ask.

and If any other remedy is required please inform, it will be convenient to procure it along with Ignatia 200, as the Homeopathic pharmacy is hours away from our site.

'Holding on my horses till the next response'

Thanks for the ‘Precious time’ that people here spend on paying care and analyzing the data.

I am really sorry for any inconvenience that may have been caused. Once the remedy was suggested by someone, I was forced to withdraw. One must stay with one practitioner to avoid any confusion.

I wish you well.
