Tendonitis in 12 year old

my 12(almost 13) year old daughter is a gymnast and is suffering from tendonitis in her left wrist.

It started approx 12-18 months ago, I gave her Ruta30c 3 times a day for about 7 days and it went away.

It has come back approx 4-6 months ago and she is having therapy for it and I have given her Ruta again, but it is not easing at all.

I have also tried giving her Rhux and that too did nothing.

Any suggestions would be great as she cannot put any pressure at all on her wrist and when she wears the support brace her wrist goes stiff. She only wears it during the day and takes it off once she is home from school.

Thank you for your help.

Regards

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
I may be able to help you with this. I will post a list of questions you will need to answer so that we can find a suitable medicine.

. Describe in detail the main problem - appearance, colour, shape etc. What happens, when it happens etc.

2. Describe any pains or behaviours associated with the symptoms.

3. Describe anything that makes the problem worse ie. position, temperature, food etc.

4. Describe anything that makes the problem better ie. pain is better for cold bathing or at night in bed.

5. Go through each symptom or problem he/she has, doing the same thing, even if the problem does not seem connected to any others.

6. When did each problem start? What happened around that same time?

7. What is his/her character like? What kinds of fears or anxieties does he/she have? What makes him/her irritable? Flesh out his/her personality.

8. What foods does he/she crave or hate? What drinks does he/she crave or hate? Is he/she sensitive to anything he/she eats or drinks?

9. How does the weather or season affect him/her?

10. How have all his/her milestones gone? Does he/she have any issue with speaking, learning, walking, climbing etc

11. How is he/she with socializing with others?

12. What is his/her bowel habit like? Any problems? Any odours, strange colours or stool shapes?

13. Where does he/she sweat? Does it have a smell or does it stain a particular colour?

14. History of illnesses in his/her life?

15. Has he/she reacted to any vaccines or medical drugs?

16. Problems with sleep? Position he/she sleeps in? Nightmares or any dreams he/she talks about?

17. How is he/she with animals?

18. How is he/she with adults or strangers?

19. What is the family history of illness and disease?

20. What was the pregnancy like? Any odd symptoms or feelings that disappeared once he/she was born?

I may have other questions after you have posted your answers.

Hi David,
Thank you for your response. I will try to answer the questions as best I can.

Describe in detail the main problem - appearance, colour, shape etc. What happens, when it happens etc.

The appearance, shape and colour of her wrist have not changed at all. Not even any swelling.

2. Describe any pains or behaviours associated with the symptoms.

She descibes it as a stabbing pain when she applies pressure such as putting her palm flat on the floor. The movement within the wrist is restricted, both up and down.

3. Describe anything that makes the problem worse ie. position, temperature, food etc.

The only thing that makes it worse is using it.

4. Describe anything that makes the problem better ie. pain is better for cold bathing or at night in bed.

We have found that it feels better immobilised in the brace, but then the wrist is stiff afterwards.

5. Go through each symptom or problem he/she has, doing the same thing, even if the problem does not seem connected to any others.

The only symptom/problem is the pain and restricted movement due to pain.

6. When did each problem start? What happened around that same time?

We cannot pin point exactly when or how it started. It just seemed to be there one morning.

7. What is his/her character like? What kinds of fears or anxieties does he/she have? What makes him/her irritable? Flesh out his/her personality.

She is a very likable character and has no fears or anxieties. She gets irritable when people annoy her.

8. What foods does he/she crave or hate? What drinks does he/she crave or hate? Is he/she sensitive to anything he/she eats or drinks?

She is not a big meat eater, but eats veges well. She is not sensitive to any food or drink and there is nothing that she won't eat.

9. How does the weather or season affect him/her?

The weather does not seem to affect her at all.

10. How have all his/her milestones gone? Does he/she have any issue with speaking, learning, walking, climbing etc

She has no issues at all. A well rounded child that has done everything how and when she was meant to.

11. How is he/she with socializing with others?

She socialises easily with a broad group of friends.

12. What is his/her bowel habit like? Any problems? Any odours, strange colours or stool shapes?

Her bowels work fine. Every day and seem normal.

13. Where does he/she sweat? Does it have a smell or does it stain a particular colour?

I have not noticed that she does sweat, so no smell or stain.

14. History of illnesses in his/her life?

She has had no illnesses apart from the general colds etc.

15. Has he/she reacted to any vaccines or medical drugs?

No.

16. Problems with sleep? Position he/she sleeps in? Nightmares or any dreams he/she talks about?

Sleeps well on her side/stomach. She does not talk of nightmares, so I assume there are none.

17. How is he/she with animals?

She loves animals and would have a zoo if we let her.

18. How is he/she with adults or strangers?

She interacts very well with adults and has no problems with strangers. Obviously she won't go up to a stranger and start talking, but if someone speaks to her she will reply.

19. What is the family history of illness and disease?

Nil.

20. What was the pregnancy like? Any odd symptoms or feelings that disappeared once he/she was born?

Normal pregnancy, she was born 2 weeks late by c-section.

Any further questions just ask as we really want to sort this out. She is desperate to get back to her gymnastics.

She has no fears - at all? Are you sure? I do not believe in all my 20 years as a homoeopath I have ever seen that. Unless you are saying she is literally fearless, which in itself might be a symptom.

She has no problems of any sort - gets on with everyone, studies perfectly, never worries, does everything she is told, never seems upset? Nothing that happens in her life, in the world, in her environment, ever has any negative impact on her? She is not sensitive to anything, just is the same at all times regardless of the situation? She doesn't react in the same way to certain things?

There are almost no symptoms here. With a chronic complaint of 12-18 months, there must be more to it, or she would have recovered by now on her own.

Try to think further, what makes her different from other children? What makes her different from other family members. We must find some way to individualise her problem, her case, to find a medicine that will cure her.

When you put it that way it seems easier to answer.

She has a fear of spiders, if she knows there is one in a room she won't go in there until it is gone.
Nothing else jumps out at me that she is scared of.

She gets on with everyone, does her studies diligently, but gets upset if things don't go right. She is a semi perfectionist.
If she has a spat with one of her friends she gets upset, as so all children. She is reasonably compliant most of the time and is very responsible for her age. She gets frustrated when things don't go her way, but it is over and done with pretty quickly.

She has a brother that is ADHD, so that possibly gets her down/angry sometimes. She is very good at hiding her feelings, she does not like upseting others.

I hope this helps further.
