Tiring cough and sore throat for days

Hello,

About 10 days ago I got a serious cold/flu. I had almost 40degrees of Celcius fever for one night but luckily it came down.
But after the fever and flu symptoms calmed down I started having extreme cough and very sore throat plus my lymph nodes and possibly tonsils got bigger and were hurting me for a fev days.
I'm taking homeopathic medicines for flu and for cough plus some herbal medicines for cold.
However the cough is really severe at night (I can't fall asleep) and when I wake up. I cough with some mucus and that's the only reason for the cough but I think my system is overreacting for the amount of mucus that it throw away every time. During daytime I cough less often but anytime, it's unstopable and very annoying :/
I also have sore throat. I use normal throat pills for sucking that finally started helping but it's still red and sometimes my nodes hurt, especially the left side and pain is stronger when I swallow. I can speak only quietly with temporary improvements. However my lymph nodes has been shrinking today and my throat got much less 'swollen' look on the outside.
I have 1 or a half degree of Celcius higher then normal tmeperature almost all the time.
I feel really tired and irritaded with this situation :( Can anyone recommend me an effective medicine?

Thank you.
