Large growth in dogs mouth- please help!

Three weeks ago I noticed a large growth in my dogs mouth. Located on the lower left jaw on the gum line. The growth was present on both sides of the gum very red and bleed when eating. It seemed to apear overnight. The vet removed the mass and the tooth and the lab diagnosed him with Acanthomatous Epulis. It has extened into the jaw bone. The only allopathic treatment is to remove the jaw bone. After 3 weeks the growth is returning in the socket hole. He is very hot- likes laying in front of a fan or outside. Very restless at night after midnight (2am on). Loves attention and has a great fear of being left. He loves riding in the car and will sit in the car all day it you let him. Since the surgery he is very hungry and begs for food all the time. He also loves to eat paper. He also licks constantly either his lips or other things (his bed, the carpet etc) and he yawns a lot.
After the surgery he had very thick saliva that hung from his mouth in rubbery strands that kali bi took care of in a couple of doses. I also started him on Bio salts, calc fl 6x and silica 6x. I also bath the area with calendula tincture 2x per day.
I notice the growth again today and would appreciate any suggestions on how to proceed.
Thanks in advance for your help!

Thank you so much for responding- how often and for how long on the Thuja?

Lexie0407 last decade
Please give him thuja 30 in the morning and evening for only 3 days.

I did as directed and my dog seems to have more energy and eating very well- he doesn't seem to be in any pain but I noticed that there are several small tumors coming out of the cavity that the tooth was in. Very red and quite hard. He also now has clear nasal discharge that drips from his nose and a thin but sticky bloody discharge from his left ear (same side as the growth). The discharge smells like clorine.
Please advise on how to proceed and thank you SO much for your time and help!

Please give him 2 pellets of the following tissue salts (at a time) in the morning and evening for 5 days and report back.
silicea 12x (preferably) or 6x
calc fluor 6x

I have been giving these 2 cell salts 2x per day since the surgery except for the 3 days I was giving him Thuja.
Plus Bio plasma

the growth has grown overnight- how do you think I should proceed?
Thanks for your help

I ordered a 12X or silicea I should have it Saturday Do you think I should try that since I have been using the 6x?

Please give silicea and CALC FLUOR in any potency you have.

Hi Lexie, I have a dog with the same problem. The vets say it is a bony tumor of the jaw and orbit.
I registered here just to share my experience with you, and to learn from yours.

All the Kalis help but Kali iod 6x seems to help the nightly 2- 6 am breathing difficulty. Nitric Acid 6x also helped.

I haven't tried higher potencies yet - I've only just understood the syphilitic nature of the problem. Thuja made the growth larger for my dog as well - no relief from the other antisycotics.

Please do share what works for your dog - I'd be grateful.

I ended up taken him to a classical homeopathic vet- she gave him a 1M sulphur which helped a lot followed by 1M of calc carb which hasn't done much that I can tell. the growth is still growing now that I have him under constitutional care I feel better because I don't have to make the decIsions on which remedy to give. Not sure where you live but if you go to Dr Pitcairn DVM website you can find listings by state of certified classical homeopathic vets. I will post any updates- please do the same. Good luck I know how hard this is!

I'm in India, Lexie0407, I'm so glad you replied. Going to a homeo vet must be such a relief emotionally, you're right, but not an option here.

My dog's growth is also still growing, but Kali Iod 30 3 days ago seems to have lifted her mentally - I'm going to wait a week or two on this and maybe alternate with Nitric Acid. I'll try sulphur - thanks for the suggestion.

Just fyi in case you panic and start treating again: calc flor, silicea and hekla lave didn't help at all; gunpowder and myristica were very helpful in a crisis.

All the best, stay strong.

An update, Lexie.

I've given the dog Kali Iod 30 twice (a week apart) and each time its opened a 3mm vent in the jaw tumor. The first time I thought it might be a coincidence, but the second was convincing. The swelling around the orbit (eyebrow region) has reduced and her legs are stronger. She's still got ropy mucus, but more white than purulent green and its dripping out.

I alternated with Nit Acid 200 when her skin started scaling.

I'm hoping this is _the_ remedy - I've read online that Kali iod is the best for tubercular/syphillitic tumors, esp around the jaw and orbit.
Feeling hopeful for the first time in a year!:)

Lexie,

My dog died this morning. Though homeopathy 'changed the state'(brought it on the skin) with several remedies - kali iod, aur met, aur mur, silicea and, lastly giving great relief, ars alb; improved appetite so that she ate until the end - the changes never changed the course of the disease sufficiently.

As her vitality dropped lower and lower I had to admit defeat. But in the end it was peaceful for her, thanks to Ars Alb.

I hope your dog is doing better. Take care!

I am SO very sorry to hear of your loss. You did everything you could. We are still fighting. My dogs growth continues to grow but it doesn't seem to bother him. The homeopath has used Lyc and more currently he is on Calc Carb 1m. Like you, we have not experienced any decrease in growth. One day at a time.
Once again sorry to hear this sad news, our thoughts are with you

Yoda,

I'm not sure how to post directly to you so I hope you see this. My dog died this morning. He had lots of energy, ate well, and acted as if there was no problem at all. However, the growth became so large dispite all the homeopathy that the skin became too thin and we could not stop bleeding. Very sad day for us- we expected to have him around for some time yet.
Good luck to you and thanks for the conversation.

Thank you for the update, Lexie, I just got on the forum now after 2 years. I'm sorry you lost your dog too.

I've been reading up since then about remedies that might have made a difference, and I came across one that I thought might help someone else who seeks help for the problem.

Mag Carb is known to reduce tumors in the Atrum of Highmore, the place dogs frequently develop growths. It ought to be tried at east. Hope it saves a dog somewhere.
