brain triggers respiratory problem

A couple of hours on the computer and hard thinking causes respiratory problems, inability to concentrate, watery eyes. Have tried Nux Vomica to remove effect of heavy antibiotics taken earlier ...but has not cured the problem. Weekend rest cures, when I concentrate hard on the computer mainly, the respiratory problem starts. Could this be brain toxicity? Any cures to calm the brain? Heavy thinking leads to insomnia, tremors. Alprax MD helps, but not Alprax. Any homeopathic substitute? Could the eyes be the cause?

Yeah Nux-vom has very specific uses, antibiotics not really being one of them. Nux is for overuse of stimulants primarily although it is really a system that is burned out yet oversensitive that responds best to that remedy. The sort of person who has abused coffee and alcohol while working long hours and sleeping too little - that kind of situation.

To make a suitable homoeopathic prescription, the problem needs to be explored in depth, so that a specific remedy chosen for the unique nature of your problem can be chosen.

Can you describe exactly what happens, in great detail, leaving out nothing. From beginning to end, each sensation, pain or symptom. Also describe what makes it better, what makes it worse.

You should do that with each and every problem you have ie. heavy thinking, insomnia and anything else you have not yet mentioned.

Successful homoeopathic prescribing depends on gathering a large amount of information, and checking and confirming that information to make sure that it is absolutely correct.

We need to examine all sorts of things about you - appetite, sensitivity to the environment, mental and emotional issues, dreams and so on.

No pain, on the left side of the head starting from the temples and on the left portion on top of the head there is a feeling as if a nerve is swelling. Starts when I concentrate hard, breathing is very slow but seem to be inhaling more than exhaling; on inhalation it becomes more difficult to breathe in fully; stomach starts bloating, and it feels acidic in the stomach (without real acidity) - digestion gets spoilt, no diarrhea, but becomes hot inside the stomach, stool becomes bad and smelly, difficult to evacuate, and incomplete. Face starts becoming puffy and eyes start watering. The next day, sneezing and all starts. Hair feels dry and face becomes dull. Body feels very lethargic and many a days I did not attend work due to this feeling the next day from work. Another problem with me is the habit of constantly thinking, wandering thoughts, attention wavers, weakness in memory, loss for words, and so on. When I had taken Alprax MD on the advice of a Doctor, the gas came out immediately from the stomach in one big burst, stool was normal and digestion improved. Tremors in the hand would reduce significantly. I start feeling healthy and normal.

During these times of respiratory problems and indigestion the attack is so severe that even inhalers do not work. Twice I got admitted to the hospital and only after increasing the steroids to a high level could they control the problem. I do have astham but that does not bother me as much as what comes after I concentrate or work my mind too much.

When I go for exercise or jogging, the condition becomes worse. Normally one should have a helathy feeling after exercising, I feel worse and it all starts with respiration getting affected.

Alcohol is a strict No, No for me. I have never been fond of alcohol, don't smoke, and very rare with non vegetarian food. Past few months has been strict vegetarian.

My suspicion has been about toxicity in the body from consuming too much of antibiotics and steroids in my earlier years - as the Doctors were treating me for asthma while the trigger was something else (air blocked in the body and the acidic feeling or heat inside).

Kindly note that I started self diagnosing a couple of years back - milk intolerance I handled with Sepia, sugar intolerance (not diabetic) with acetic acid. Both medicines got me back into very good health. From a broken down condition with 80kg weight, I have come down to 68 and feel much healthier now. The only thing that has been troubling me for the past 5-6years is this feeling in the head and what follows. which I am not able to solve.

Hope this helps.

Other details sought by Dr Nawaz:
Age 45, male
Studied - Chartered Accountancy, MBA
Profession - private equity investor, so do take heavy stress and worry when things do not go per plan
Personality type - want to achieve a lot, but lose confidence soon. feel that if health were better I could have taken on any challenge. Have spent long hours. not outspoken, do not want to hurt anyone's feelings, absorb and keep my anger inside me (which is one big problem I have). Voice falters and thoughts get convoluted due to these health problems - however after an Alprax MD I am a very different person, very confident and wanting to keep talking..words flow automatically.

Another personality trait is to speed up things - if I have an idea do want to put it into action very quickly without thinking of all the consequences; optimist by nature; but have this feeling tnat I am always right and there must be something wrong in the other person's argument and work - always trying to justify my side. Do work very hard nevertheless.
Married, and have had problems with wife, she being outspoken while I go into a shell if things are not done my way.
No strong desires for any food, do like sweets. Not salt.
Diabetes - have diagnosed twice, with result being negative. However, excess sweets does disturb the system including itching in eyes (started with acetic acid and it helped).
Cold water allergy - any cold food or cold water consumed causes bloating in the stomach, sneezing and irritation in the throat (if not attended respiratory problem begins) - have got that under control with arsenic album 6, which helps beautifully
Blood pressure - during my problem post heavy concentration, blood pressure shoots up to 180 (when I had to be hospitalised); but no pressure during normal days. Was consuming Telpres for blood pressure but stopped after I realized that milk and sugar intolerance was causing the problem - after I started taking acetic acid and sepia, pressure was normal.
There is no seasonality in my problem. It is always post heavy work applying my mind. When I do heavy physical, only respiration is the problem. When I do mental, it is a lot more - respiration, bloating, indigestion, sneezing, watery eyes, puffiness, lethargy, heated body, etc. The hands feel as if I have fever. Eyes start itching, nose feels full.

ONE IMP THING - even on normal days, the nose has constant formation of gray matter/dirt (don't know the word for it) as if in a case of cold that has set in; and there is constant development of mucus in the chest. Some friends recently have experienced the same that when their stress level increases they have more mucus in the chest and similar nasal formation.

During my problem time, urine was scanty and yellow in colour. However, post the sepia, acetic acid treatment (and briefly silicea), urine flow has been normal - a bit surplus in fact. From no thirst, I started feeling thirsty and consumed good level of water; from no appetite from the bloating, I started eating very well; and from little urine, the flow became quite normal and a little surplus in fact - 5-6 times mini (with once atleast middle of the night).

Hope this helps

Forgot to add - a constant feeling of cold in the body, which goes away when I take Alprax MD (the nose feels clear), the body lethargy goes, so too the itching in the eyes. Did not want to repeat consuming Alprax as I have ready enough negatives of side effects.

could this be for allergy to salt? I observed while eating popcorn in a movie theatre today that my lips were cringing as I finished the last few portifons of the popcorn - which is very salty in the end. And I also remembered that when I step into sea water, my skin on the feet turns white, and gets shrivelled. It takes almost 30minutes before the skin comes back to normal. Since we have salt in food every time, could that be causing the mucus, and the respiratory difficulty? Could there be deposits of salt forming in the body?
