uncontrollable sugar cravings

I just entered my symptoms in the Remedy Finder, and it says I should try Argent Met. Does this sound good?

I have used homeopathy most successfully in the past for headaches, colds and depressions, but my homeopath has never been able to end my sugar cravings, which has me really upset.

I used to take antidepressants, and after I stopped taking them years ago is when I became very sensitive to sweets. I crave them and absolutely have to eat really fast until I am absolutely sick. Sugar feels like a drug, and when I do eat it, my heart beats faster and I must have more.

Things that will trigger my hunger are eating sweets, after drinking alcohol, or when really tired or stressed out. I do feel it is ruining my health and happiness.

Should i keep trying with homeopathy, or is there anything else that might help?

Thank you!!!

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
You may take Saccharum 200 one dose every week for three weeks and see if it helps you.

You sound *alot* like me before I got off sugar.

I go to Overeater's Anonymous meetings- if there's not one in your area try Alcoholics Anonymous- its the same idea. There are other similar groups by similar names, all using 12 Step ideals (compulsive eaters anon., food addicts anon., etc). Find on the internet.

It helped me *immensely*. I still am selfish and weird and far from where I want to be, but for the last 2.5 yrs I do have a peace that I never knew when I was in the sugar.

Homeopathy and other natural health means that seemed to help others were not helping me get off the sugar, and I think that was because I had to commit to discovering and healing some emotional issues first, rather than turning to natural health care to save me.

Once I was completely committed to feeling what I needed to feel and learning my lessons, and had the necessary social support, then the natural health care things starting *assisting* the process of getting off sugar. But before I had been trying to skip that process and just be fixed, and the wisom of my body was not going to let that happen. Its happened in other areas but not this one.

Good luck!

To Rajiv-I went to the homeopathic pharmacy here, and the only one they have in stock is LM1. I have taken LM's before, and the pharmacist said it should be okay since i have used that level alot before, wanted to ask you first. They can order 200 and have it in by next week.

To Rebecca, thank you for your kind post. I know I have an addictive personality, and I will consider your suggestion.

LM series of Saccharum Officinale is perfectly fine.Take LM1 for a couple of weeks.Post your results on the forum to keep me updated. Also keep LM2 and LM3 in stock so that when we need to up the potency we don't have to waste time.Make a careful record of your current symptoms mental, emotional and physical and keep a note of how they change once you start the remedy. So that if we need to change the remedy later on we can do that.

All the best.

Hello!

It has been about a week, so thought I would update. I got LM 1, and am taking it everyday after hitting the bottle 10 times.

After a few days, I began to feel much calmer and my mood has been really good. I have some returning of old symptoms-constipation and jaw tension. I think it is helping with my cravings, but it is really too soon to tell for sure. Had some very vivid dreams about people from the past, almost like a release of past hurt and a new understanding of it, which was interesting.

Do I keep on with this dose?

Thank you!!

Hello,

It has been 2 weeks now. It really seems to be helping. I had to go to a birthday party and was served a piece of cake. I just had half of it, and felt very okay-no racing heart or cravings after. It was the first time in years that that has happened, and I was very happy.

Then I got stuck away from home for a few days, forgot my remedy, and the last day, had such strong urges, could not resist eating far more chocolate and biscuits than I should have and felt really awful that night and the next day. Was happy to take the remedy again, and I am very pleased. I know this seems like a silly problem to others, but it is very difficult for me to live with.

Besides that, nothing too unusual. I have a pain and weakness in my right wrist that developed, and I have never had that before, but I don't think that is from the remedy.

Do I keep on daily with the LM1?

Thank you.

Can anyone advise what to do next?

I had a very bad cold late last week, with loss of voice. Could this be a return of old symptoms, as I had this for a long time last winter? It is getting better now.

I feel I am ready to move on to a higher dose. Am taking nothing now.

Thank you.

Dear Daneo52,

Sorry for the late reply. Was away for two weeks.Everything is going along fine. You are responding beautifully to the LM1 of Saccharum. So no need to go to LM2 right now.The return of old symptoms following a decrease in sugar cravings is a sure sign that we have hit the bull's eye with the remedy.Just keep taking LM1 for ten days and keep updating as the symptoms evolve.

You will be absolutely fine sortly.Don't take any allopathic or homeopathic medication for any acute symptoms if possible. They will subside on their own.

I am interested to know how the sugar cravings are going.

I feel absolutely abnormal in the way that I consume candy and sugary products. I feel like a closet drug addict as people can not believe them when I tell them that I have this problem. I compensate by controlling myself 1/2 the week and eating well, but then the other 1/2 of the week I am totally out of control. I become extremely drowsy and just want to sleep. This is directly caused by my sugar consumption. I will get terrible migraines that will keep me in bed for up to 8 hours with nausia. I feel out of control. In addition I am totally unproductive after I consume sugary products. I also adopt a bad self image after I binge on sugar. If saccharrinum is effective I really need to know if I should try it as well. Thank you.

Kindly tell me about the Argentum Nitricum "type". I will run out tomorrow and get it, but I would like to be more sure.

I am a friendly outgoing person. I "appear" to have a ton of energy as others will attest to. However I get these times where I am exhausted and as mentioned this is directly related to sugar. I feel like I need the sugar to bring me down. If I maintain a high protenina and complex cvarb diet I require very little sleep and can run on empty. After a while I want to relax so I overly indulge in sugar. I can't just take a small piece of candy I need the entire bag and want to be left alone while indulging. I feel desperate and I mean it.

Dear Caralyn,

I suggest you forget Argentum Nitricum for the moment(sajjad, please don't mind). You take Saccharum LM1 one teaspoon three times a day for a week and then report. You will be cured.

Hello Caralyn,

I wish you good luck with this problem. I was surprised to see interest in this thread again. For me, I did have good results. I would not say it was a cure, but a tremendous improvement. Now some time later and with the holidays here, I am starting to fall back to old cravings, so I think I will take the Sacch again. Please post your results. I hope you will be as pleased as I was. I also felt much happier and with a good sense of wellbeing too.

Hi,
Happy to hear that the Sach was helpful for you!

I am waiting to see if I can take an alternative potency as I am finding it hard to obtain LM1.

I wanted to ask Rajiv a question relating to cold, cloudy days. Perhaps you might know what I mean since you seem to have the same tendancies as myself. Do your sugar cravings become uncontrollable during these times? This is a major trigger for me that I forgot to mention. Today is bright and sunny and already I feel happier and less inclined to indulge.

Thanks,
Caralyn

Hi Rajive
What are LM1 and LM2 potencies? How do they differ from C and X potencies and how are they prepared. Kindly elaborate. I am B Type diabetic. I like sweets but do not have any craving.
Can Saccharum Officinale help to cure diabetes. Thanks.
