Advice on frequency

I was after some advice please. I consulted a Homeopath for a range of chronic symptoms a few months ago. We achieved some early progress, and I was (and still am) completely won over, however, it was not until I started taking my health into my own hands and began treating myself that I achieved real progress. To that end, I have a question about frequency of medicine intake. I have been taking Lycopodium 200C, 20 drops, up to 3 times per day. I might do this for about 3 or 4 days and then take a day or two off. I feel fabulous when I take it but no so fabulous on the days off. Basically, a lot of my symptoms return albeit not as bad as before but still, they resurface. So, one might say, just stay on the medicine. My concern though is that everything I've been reading about Homeopathy suggests that these higher potencies should be taken less frequently, perhaps once a week or even less. Therefore, my question is, is it a problem to take a higher potency medicine quite frequently for an extended period of time? I'm sure the answer's simple but I'm perplexed as to why my case requires a frequency pattern that seems a lot more intense than other cases that I've ressearched about on the net. I would appreciate any advice you can give.

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
You are experiencing what we call palliation. This is a temporary improvement made by a remedy that is not curing the cause of your symptoms, but simply addressing symptoms at the surface.

One of the hallmarks of a palliative remedy is that it needs to be frequently repeated, and that the palliative effect wears off quite quickly.

This means that Lycopodium is the wrong remedy for you. Even more concerning would be the fact that after a period of time, palliation becomes suppression, where your disease is driven more deeply inwards, making you worse and possibly harder to cure.

You need to go back to your homoeopath so they can assess what is happening, and determine the best direction to take, whether that is trying a higher dose or changing to a more appropriate remedy.

With no training, taking treatment into your own hands will result in serious problems for yourself. It is possible that you are actually making it more difficult for anyone to help you this way.

Ok, thanks David for the advice. I'll obviously need to go see a professional. I notice your in Brisbane (I'm an ex Brissy boy) and I live in Sydney. I was not that enamoured with my previous Homeopath for a variety of reasons. Are you able to recommend a good Homeopath in Sydney for me? I live in Five Dock and I notice that there is a guy called David Levy who practices just up the road. Perhaps he might be ok. Kind regards.

David Levy was one of my teachers at the Sydney College of Homoeopathic Medicine. He was a very inspiring teacher from memory. He has also certainly been a homoeopath for a long time now - I studied 20 years ago, and he was already a respected homoeopath then.
