The ABC Homeopathy Forum

lean active child has become overweight and sluggish

We have been going to a homeopath since kids were born. all three of my kids were very lean active kids, two still are. when boy tuned 9 he slowly started to develop a large belly and slow attention, and became not as active. i originally started to go to homeopath because 1st child was constipated remedy worked for her so i would take other kids to homepath to keep them well. at one time my 9 year old boy was given a remedy for smelly sweaty feet and skin issue. after that he slowly began to develop a large belly, etc. He is the only one in family that has this body type, the rest of us are lean and active. could that remedy have changed his body type? can we change it back ? i do not know what remedy it was.

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
No the remedy will not have changed his body type. What is happening is that the homoeopath has been unable to cure your child, and his natural chronic disease is distorting his body shape.

You need to get to a more skilled homoeopath. What method does this one use? How does he or she take the case, how are the doses given, how much follow up is done, how much is disclosed about why a medicine is given?

Thanks so much for the response! Its more of a large belly issue than a overweight issue. Our homeopath I thought was very skilled, he cured my husbands repeated strep throat and infertility issue. He spends about an hour and a half asking questions and listening. He gets into his drawer and pours about 5 or 6 remedy crystals onto tongue. Never tells the name of remedy and we are to call in 2 weeks. No additional remedies are given..of course the large belly did not show up in 2 weeks and I never put 2 and 2 together that maybe the remedy was wrong. My son gets plenty of exercise, plays hockey and football. When I look at the all of the questions to answer about his personality, whether he likes hot or cold, etc. I dont know if I should answer about him now or how he was originally 0-8 years old. I would love to hear any ideas that you have.

Well the remedy is wrong. If he has been treated for 8-9 years by this homoeopath, then it is a huge failure for your son to have developed this kind of problem. Any homoeopath worth his or her salt can find the right remedy in 9 years! The simillimum would have prevented this from happening.

You will need to demand the list of remedies your son has been given. If you plan to try another practitioner, you will need to pass that on to them.

On the surface there appears to be no issue with how the homoeopath is practicing, but your son may be simply beyond his skill level. That can happen to any of us.

The homeopath gave told me the remedies he had given THey are:
9/06 sulfur 1m
11/07 sulfur 1m
11/08 pulsitilla 1m
11/09 baryta carb 1m
8/2010 silica 1m

He was born 5/00
the large belly developed in 2009
Do you think he should go back to sulfur

I can't tell what remedy he needs. I have no case to analyze. Nobody could answer that kind of question unless they took the case.

My opinion is someone else needs to be put in charge of the case.
