4 month old with phlemy cough

Hi, I have a 4 month old boy that woke up yesterday with a phlemmy cough, is now almost voiceless, has deep sneezing, breastfeeds less frequently but still well. Sleeps well but woke up twice with phlemmy cough, cries and then goes back to sleep. He poops fine, pees fine. He had a low fever last night (37.7c or 99.8F) Please help me, took him to pediatrician and she said it could be croup or tracheo/faryngitis. She told me to get steroids and save them for the night time just in case. i dont want to give him that, please help!

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
Please give him a pill of calc carb 200 with mother's milk in the morning and evening for 2 days and see how that affects in next few days.
