old injury on both knees...Ruta Grav?

Hi, I´m a female 35 years old, normally healthy, but on january 2003 I had an accident and since then my knees hurt very much specilly in cold weather and with humidity. Can you help me with homeopathic treatment?

A little bit about myself:

5´2" tall or 1.57 m
Weight: 103 lbs or 46.5 kgs.
Haven´t had any children yet...but planning on soon
Tan skin
Like to eat nutritional, poultry, egs, milk, vegetables, lots of fruit
Taking at this time a supplement for joints:
Glucosamine 1500 mg and Chondroitin 1200mg daily for 1 month...later was prescribed to cut to half the dosis /750 mg and 600 mg)

Prefer warm weather and food.

The accident happended this way:a horse threw me down, and I fell on my knees, right knee had a small fisure or small fracture. So I received a direct impact on both patellas. Both knees swelled a lot, the "liquid" went out...

Didn´t have any homeopathy treatment... Allopathic treatment was:

Naproxen for the inflamation
Ice, Rest, Elevation...a sort of cast on the right knee...and a knee support for the left knee...

Later on was followed by physiotherapy...wich was ice, then infrared light on both knees, ultrasound and manual manipulation or help to bend the legs. ´Cause I got very stiff...

So I´ve been still suffering from time to time...specially when the weather is going to change. when it gets cold and with humidity. And having this pain makes me sad or angry.

I used to be a very "sporty" person..used to do mountain bike, jogging and aerobics...since the accident the doctor adviced me only to walk moderately or swim...I bearly use heels...because I don´t feel very strong of the musles and when going down the stairs I feel a little unbalanced..even though I did some excersices recommended by the ostheopath.

Also very important to say that that I went on sept.2004 with a chiropractor and made me and adjustment on the knees and heel...very quickly I felt relief...he said he adjusted the tendons and ligaments...and I visit him almost every 3 months..when he makes the adjustment at the beginning I feel like my knees get very warm and a little bit sore...but like in 3 days the inflamation goes away and feel better...but never like my knees were before the accident...

I get easly tired when standing up...and a do walk or swim but not very much because my knees always ache. And also sometimes both knees but specially the right one make a noise like a "click"...I have found mostly when its humid or colder...

I belive I can be help by homeopathy and I´ve been studying a little bit...do you thing even though 2 years an a half have already pass a remedy can work for me?

Do you think it might help Ruta Grav...in wich potency and frecuency? or do you suggest other remedy (ies)?

Should I stop taking the supplement (glucosamine and chondroitin)?

Thanks for the fast help you can give me...I´m worried that if I get pregnant in 2 or 3 months I won´t be able to bear 10 kgs more!!...I would really like to "correct" whatever was damaged inside...ligaments, tendons, patella or meniscus...the osteopath and chiropractor told me I should better live with this discomfort rather than get operated on the knees...

Thanks for any help,
elviriux

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
Ruta could help ,
I would suggest getting Bellis 10m and take ONE ONLY tablet, then wait for at least two weeks to judge results.
Also get some Ruta 30c to use as a fokkow up.

The bellis is good instead of arnica, but maybe you need Bryonia to follow - please read it up.

Minsa last decade
Thanks Minsa for your suggestion...for the follow up...I look it up the description on this site and it seems that Bellis Perennis its more "precise" than Ruta...its very specific on the knees...but for the start both of you, walkin and minsa recommended Bellis...where can I find the description of this remmedy? thanks...perhaps this monday I will buy the remmedies you suggested..thanks again!!!!

Sorry I meant to say...start with the Bellis 10 m...and then the follow up with Bryonia..(I wrote it wrong on the last post..)...so yes I think Bryonia is more specific on the problems of my knees...

Try Symphytom Q. It works like wonder.

Hi, Kuldeep

Thanks for taking precious time to answer. I have 3 questions for you:

1. I found Symphytom officinalis or officinale (from the herb "comfrey") didn´t find symphytom Q...is it the same remedy?

2. So should I start with Bellis 10 m...wait 1 or 2 weeks and do the follow up with symphytom inestead of bryonia or ruta grav?

3. what potency and frequency do you suggest for symphytom? How many days should I try to feel a change or improvement?(so I know is the correct remedy for my condition or try another)

4. Could I combine the remedies? Let´s say use one remedy like bryonia in the morning and symphytom in the evenining? or should I better
stick to only one.

Thanks for your very invaluable help...elviriux

Arnica fixed the problem when my wife had pain in her knee cap due to the old injury.

Bellis is a variety of Arnica.

Hi,
I have a dog which is more like a daughter to me-she is now 8 years old. When she came to me, she was a stray pup who had got run over by a car-some kind doctors fixed her back legs which had been broken bbut she stil limps a bit especially when she first begins to walk after rest.
I give her Arnica 30 or Symphytum 30 dissolved in her drinking water...
Is it alright? Should I try Rhus Tox?
Thanks
