Reccuring Tonsillitis
Hi,Once again I have another bout of tonsillitis. This is now my second course of antibiotics.I am about half way through and I have decided to stop taking them. my stomach feels awful and last night the room started to spin,I dont know if this has anything to do with the tablets,today I feel a little better but still slightly off balance and I havent taken any tablets all day.The throat is still as bad. I'm a 27 year old female,and would be thankful for any advice.
(second lot of antibiotics in this attack).

Anyibiotics destroy the natural balance of the flor/fauna of the GIT , and should be avoided if at all possible.
You did the right thing in stopping the course.
Is there any difference between the sides -- is one worse than the other.
Are you hot or cold, does your pillow case have ...yellow stains... smell sour.
Are you a stubborn person.
A thirsty person?.
Are you untidy.

thankyou for replying.
1)I am generally a cold person,though lately hot but I think that this is due to tempreture because of the infection.I have not noticed anything on my pillow,but cant say for sure that it doesnt happen.Looking at my throat I would say that the left side is worse than the right.
2)No I am not stubborn.
3)No I kind of force myself to drink although there is the occasional day when I will be really thirsty and do nothing but drink.
4)I hate to say it but yes I am untidy.

Hepar Sul
Pulsatilla
Calcarea Sul.
If you are blonde and dislike wearing wollen garments , and rich food you may need Puls.
If you are fond of boiled eggs and sweets then Calc sul may be OK.
But I would tend to think that Hep sul is the best bet.
In any case try 6x potency twice a day for a week then stop and judge result.
It may be necessary to go to a higher potency or change the remedy.

Just before my remedy arrived I realized that my right tonsil was the worst and it is becoming more apparent.When I touch my throat it really hurts yet when I touch the left side there is no pain atall. I received my remedy on friday and started to take it straight away.Right about now my right tonsil is really bad.Should I continue with the remedy and see what happens?. Thanks in advance.

If you have been suffering from chronic tonsillitis which is perhaps recurrent, I would suggest that you have a throat swab taken and cultured to eliminate Beta Haemolyticus Streptococcus. This test can be carried out in any medical laboratory. If this bug is isolated an Antibiotic Sensitivity Test should also be done by the lab.
This bacteria is dangerous if you are harbouring it as it can cause many other diseases like Rheumatism, Nephritis and can also affect the heart valves.
You should not be on an antibiotic for at least a week if you wish to take this culture test.

Hi,
I am going to have a swab taken today.

I am glad that you have taken my advice.
Antibiotics are not indicated right now till you get the results of your ABS test which will show if there is any organism and if it is the B H Strep you will have to take a long course of Penicillin which your doctor will indicate the dosage and the brand to eradicate this bug.
You can continue with the remedy that you are now taking and report results in a few days.

I am still taking the remedy that you suggested.Thursday will make it a week (I thought it was five days but its seven).Did you read my post on the 24/7?.
Does it make a difference which tonsil is the worst?.
I would love to get rid of this without the use of antibiotics.I Did have the swab taken and will post the results.

my throat is still really bad, the left tonsil doesnt seem as bad,its still very red but nowhere near as big as the right one. I do have naturally big tonsils.The pain is still there.I am taking pain killers,I cant really eat or drink very well if I dont numb the pain.If I do allow the pain killers to wear off the pain is still very bad.
One more thing my chest is very irritated it feels like the wind pipe,starting from my throat running down.This feeling was there before I started the remedy.The irritation makes me cough.I will stay off the pain relief for the rest of the day so that I can properly judge how I am feeling.
Then I will post again.I am quite new to homeopathy, so if I am doing something wrong please let me know.

It depends if I have an illness, then I tend to get tonsillitis.Probably about three times a year.I always use penicillin of some sort.The last three years it has been quite difficult to get rid of.After I had my fourth child I had to go on a course for four weeks.I get it less now than I did when I was a child but its harder to get rid of.
Right about now I feel so much better the pain a nearly gone and the swelling has gone down alot.This is the last day of my remedy.Should I continue taking it or stop and wait to see what happens?.

my throat has been much better but the tonsillitis has still not gone completely my throat still feels a bit rough and I can still taste it.Should I wait and my body will fix itself or do I need another remedy?

I would wait until you are SURE that there is no further change taking place --- then repeat the Hep sul as before.
