The ABC Homeopathy Forum

Please advise, parasites an constitutional imbalance

So basically, got sick with roundworm and giardia 10 years ago.. Not diagnosed until 9 years later.. Herbs don't resolve it or worm meds. looking for advice on which remedy to take. I have always had a tendency to bloat but my system got totally ill and out of wack in 2000 after going to Ecuador for 1 month. I have been struggling to regain my health ever since. cannot eat corn and gluten. feel much better off of those but every winter and Spring my system acts up and I get an extremely sensitive spastic colon. I am adopted (at 2 weeks old) and my mother had schizophrenia in case that's helpful in understanding my pattern, miasm, etc. Right now when I feel bad, I feel anxious, irritable physically, thirsty, hungry, manic, low back ache relieved by defecation. I also feel kind of up beat and positive, but have to exercise and stratch in order to feel good. Need activity. I feel terrible when its cold and damp out. Lit's of gurgling in the stomach. Stiffness and restlessness. Recent stomach upset of diarrhea alternating with constipation won't resolve. Generally very healthy eater, light on meat, no processed foods, no wheat or corn, lots of fresh veggies. Exercise several times a week, yoga and cardio. Recently had some improvements with acupuncture and guided imagery but my system is acting up again (perhaps the springtime and also I ate pork (bacon and ever since that and my period I have been out of whack) and acupuncture and chinese herbs not helping. Please advise.. Thinking of going to see a homeopath here but I'm between jobs so might be difficult financially but if its necessary I'll do it.

1. Mental State of the patient
When I get out in the fresh air and move or work at a public place- I feel better, even just getting out of the house. At home I feel like I need to stretch, get fresh air, move, feel a bit physically restless, anxious, and pent up, like my body is trying to exercise something out of me, or clear out something. Almost like a battle is going on in me a bit.. If I get out and about and stay positive and active, I feel okay. A bit anxious now. Looking for a new job ( i freelance). My health problems make me anxious sometimes too, though I try not to let them.

2. Physical Ailments - sensitive stomach, diarrhea alternating with difficulty eliminating. Stomach upset after eating relieved by elimination but not entirely. Low back ache (muscular) and need to stretch and twist all the way from legs to waste to spine.

3. The likely cause for above problems
This first showed up in my life in 2000 after traveling to Ecuador. When I came back I got really sick and had terrible stomach sensitivities. Was diagnosed with IBS.

More recently (this has happened before after eating cured pork), I ate pork (bacon) and it upset my stomach so much it was like I had the flu for a few days. That got better, but then my period came and I got a cramping kind of a feeling after eating and it never went away even after my period left. Achey pain around um belly button, desire to massage and dig deep around belly to move stagnant stuck feeling and relieve discomfort.
Sometimes feel a pulse around my belly to the top or left of my belly button. Deep desire to penetrate and massage deeply. Feels like something stuck there.. infection. Lately been passing mucus in stools and irregular stools.

4. The modalities like whether the patient feels well or worse in hot weather, cold weather etc., he is relieved by / worsened by hot applications, cold applications etc.

Definitely Feel better, calmer, from a hot bath, or exercise (jogging, yoga, streching), feel much worse from cold, damp weather, I think the springtime usually gives me this reaction every year, sensitive stomach. I always chalked it up to pollen and tried to watch what I ate (synergistic allergies agravated by certain foods, which seems to help). feel worse in the afternoon if I haven't gotten out of the house, and worse immediately after eating.

Please answer the following questions in a descriptive manner after careful analysis and recollection of previous experiences and happenings.

1. Describe your main suffering?

Stomach upset, restless anxious feeling associated with stomach sensitivity, diarrhea alternating with constipation, pain around belly, pain in muscles of low back. A feeling of detox. A manic feeling, need to exercise and move. Some anxiety, but not terrible. Nausea and achey stomach after eating anything.

2. What other physical sufferings do you have in your body?
achey neck, Achey abdomen

3. What mental sufferings / feelings do you have associated with your physical sufferings?

I think I explained that. Some anxiety, uncertainty in my life. Been working on my emotions, relationships, chakras. Just found out my freelance gig will not hire me back as early as planned so a little stressed about finding job.

4. What exactly do you feel when you are at your worst? Manic, achy back neck and belly, upset stomach, sometimes nausea, indigestion, anxiety, horrible achey stomach, fretful, depressed, pent up but after eating exhausted, desperate, upset, irritable (not currently), easy to anger

5. When did it all start? Can you connect it to any past event or disease?

Generally this all started after I traveled to Ecuador in 2000. More recently it seems triggered by eating cured pork and also my menstrual period. the cramping that came on with that never resolved.

6. Which time of the day you are worst? Afternoon- 3 PMish

7. What are the things which aggravate your suffering and which are those which ameliorate the same?

Worse> Cold, Damp, Still, eating, hunger, certain foods that are difficult to digest, anxiety

Better> Motion, exercise, yoga, Hot bath, rest, after defecating, when in a positive state of mind

8. Do your think your sufferings have relation to any external stimuli (like, change of place) or any internal biological changes in the body, like, menses (in females)?

I think its worse around menses, in springtime, in cold damp weather, when I'm stressed or emotionally upset about things I can't control..

9. When do you feel better, during hot weather or cold weather, humid or dry weather? Warm/ hot weather, sunshine, early morning..

10. Describe your general mental set up? Are you Moody, Arrogant, Mild, Agreeable Changeable, Nervous, Suspicious, Easily offended, Quiet, Arguing, Irritating, Lazy etc.

I am congenial, precocious, smart, analytical, perhaps cocky at times, generous, fearful sometimes, need my alone time but like people too and can be sociable and vivacious. I am an indivualist and have been described as independent. Sometimes have trouble finding the balance between being independent and into my own world and activites and being connected to others in relationships. Don;t like groupd identity. Feela need to be my indivudal self, I have a critical mind, but try to stay positive. Am a good logical thinker. But also rather emotional and sensitive. Sometimes have troubke declaring boundaries with friends and lovers. Can create stress.

- How do you feel before or during a thunderstorm? I think fine..

- Do you like being consoled during your tough times? Somewhat..

- Are you sensitive to external stimuli like smell, noise, light etc? I am sensitive to smells (especially traffic smells and bad odors in the house of rotting things, etc). Sensitive to light somewhat but Like sunlight.. hate streetlights coming into my room. Loud sudden noises or actions o my person are not my favorite. Lately I need the house to orderly and fairly clean..

- Do you have any typical habit or gesture like nail biting, causeless
weeping, talking to one self etc?

I notice I talk to myself sometimes when I am doing something.. like thinking out loud..

- How do you feel about your friends, family, your children and especially your husband / wife?

I am single, like my roommate, but am a little cautious about trusting her, though I like her and for the most part we get a long well. Like my friends and family but wish I sometimes I had more support or closeness. I feel like I am a bit different than others sometimes in terms of my vision for my life and need to fulfill that. I guess I am somewhat driven, but I can also procrastinate to a fault. I try to work on that. I am adopted and am estranged somewhat from my eldest sister (my parent's biological daughter) who sometimes has acted jealous of me and the other adopted children in our family. I have had a decent amount of tragedy and loss in my life ( lost a sister in high school) I have opportunities to date people but I am a little shy and also picky. I need to feel attracted to the person physically in order to move forward in the romance and sometimes the folks I am attracted to physically are not the ones who are the most emotionally compatible with me. Ahh I'm sure you've heard that one before.

11. What are your fears and do you dream of any situation repeatedly?

I have a fear of being disorganized and missing my opportunities and responsibilites bc I am a daydreamer or a procrastinator. I have a lot of abilites and sometimes it confuses me which direction to take. I often get opportunities and sometimes just drop the ball. I wish I was more disciplined and consistent in my work. Sometimes I feel this is part of my physical imbalance and also emotional, and energetic issues. I am creative and I need time to reflect in that way. It makes me feel better. Playing guitar, singing.

12. What do you crave for in food items and what are your aversions?
Intolerant to corn, wheat, oats, and buckwheat, high fructose corn syrup even since going to ecuador. I don't eat much sugar either or cheese and dairy.

I used to crave milk, not so much anymore, but still somehwhat. Love rice, almond milk, crave butter, crave carbs like potatoes, before my period I crave beef. I eat and like lot's of veggies. Arugula and fresh greens or something raw on my food. I crave onions much and garlic sometimes. I crave ice cream sometimes.. I enjoy veggies and eat a pretty healthy diet. I also crave honey and eat raw local honey.

13. How is your thirst: Less, Normal or Excessive?

Normal to more than normal
14. How if your hunger: Less, Normal or Excessive? hunger, ok but get's stronger close to meals

15. Is there any kind of food which your body can’t stand?

My body reacts in a nasty way bacon if its cured or 'flavored', sometimes dairy (unpredictable, gluten and corn.. )

16. Is your sweat normal or less or more? Where does it sweat more: Head, Trunk or Limbs? Normal when exercising

17. How is your bowel movement and stool type? Loose stools, hard to eliminate, low back pain before during and after.. Fairly frequent - 5-5 times per day. Sometimes very small amounts but today already 2-3 before 2PM. generally irregular for the last few weeks..

18. How well do you sleep? Do you have a particular posture of sleeping?

I fall asleep but wake up after a few hours and in the early morning.. Okay but not super great deep sleep. I like to sleep on my belly it seems lately. Wasn't always so..

19. Do you think you are able to satisfy your sexual desires in general?

Not in a relationship but when I am, yes.

20. How do you think you are different from others, if at all? Kind of need more of my own alone time perhaps than some others. Reflective and interested in mystical, spiritual matters, altruism, health and higher consciousness

21. What medications have been taken earlier by you to treat the diseases and do you have any particular symptom surfacing after the medication?

years ago (4) I took a two month no sugar parasite cleanse. Felt tired but improved, then it came back. Was diagnosed by Alt. MD with Giardia and roundworm 2 1/2 yrs ago. Took american anti-parasite herbs then. Just made me fatigued. DId not resolve issues. Took vermox for the worms- 3- 4 different times. Took Chinese formulas for parasites. Each time felt immediately lighter after taking but don't think it fully ridded me of them.

At winter's start took Chinese herbs for low immune system (lung formula). Saw acupuncturist weekly for 2 months. Improved and major breakthrough using guided healing imagery to break through a achey painful clogged spot in my lower left abdomen where I think constipation and stagnation occurred. Really helped this winter with my immunity barely ever sick until now! Also saw an energetic practitioner for a clearing and felt lighter after in my belly, genuinely.

22. What major diseases are running in your family?

My mother (biological) had schizophrenia. Both my mother and aunt have hypothyroid (underactive). My aunt has celiac. I was adopted at 2 weeks but I think my mother had some addiction issues in relation to her mental illness as well.

My adopted mother has chronic fatigue and borderline diabetes, but not full case.

23. Describe, how do you look like? Describe your overall appearance

Petite, 5'2''. dark hair, brown eyes. Olive skin. Half italian / norwegian and mexican. Fairly attractive I guess, but lack a but in lifeforce. Eyes look tired a lot and a tend towards dark circles. Getting grey hair. In shape but have trouble with bloated tummy and abdomen and keeping tight in my midsection though I workout regularly and am generally athletic.

- Are the periods early, regular or late in general? How long do they last?
regularly always start on or around the full moon. get cramps for a day or two.. Unpleasant. Felt pretty bad cramping this last time that seems to still be with me but now feels like stomach cramps after eating.

- Do you suffer from any kind of physical or mental discomfort before, during or after the periods? Yes, I was very emotional this last period (a week or so ago). Also increased appetite and desire for meat is common for me.

- Is the flow scanty, normal or excessive? normal to light

- Is the blood thick bright red or pale watery? maybe more pale and thin
- Do you notice any clots in the flow? a few, not too many that I've noticed

Dear Dragonfly, thanks for your empathy.

Regarding previous remedies. I took nat mur and Sepia alternately for mood, yeast infections, and stomach/ digestive problems that manifested like irritable bowel in which I had ongoing constipation alternating with Diarrhea, moodiness and introversion, especially around my period. Around this time, between 2000-2005 I had a very manic need to move (needed exercise daily) just to feel okay and low back pain that did not seem to resolve. Causticum did an amazing job as a constitutional remedy at the time improving my overall feeling, muscular pain, and general balance. That was a breakthrough for me.

Once I began eliminating food allergies from my diet 2 1/2 years ago, (corn and wheat, dairy (now I can eat some dairy), I had a second breakthrough and I started to feel much better in my digestive upsets, yeast infections, manic feelings of restlessness, voracious hunger, sinus infections, and feeling unwell generally. But still have bouts nowadays with the old feelings and reactions usually to food or emotional upset or some combination, especially in winter and early spring.

Regarding the remedies, about 2-3 years ago, I took Nitricum Acidum for insomnia as an acute remedy, which helped me sleep. Also took Bach's 'Rescue Sleep' remedy for insomnia at night.

About 16 months ago I started taking a chinese herbal formula for digestive complaints targeting parasites for chronic rundown folks wherein the strong attacking herbs were too harsh and did not resolve the situation but made the patient feel rundown. I took those for about 7 months and they did improve me for while, though I still felt tireed sickly, rundown, and not fully better.

About 4 months ago I started seeing an acupuncturist who specializes in psycho-emotional acupuncture. My immmune system, which was terrible in the winter where I would get stomach flu like symptoms and bouts that lasted for weeks, months even. I improved greatly under her herbal formula and treatment. I did not get sick much this winter, which is a new thing for me. I usually feel much improved, almost nearing normal in the summer, and then dip into old patterns and imbalance in the winter and early spring. Now spring is coming and I'm have a usual bout of severe stomach reactions.. It's like something triggers a reaction, detox, or intolerance, and then I spend the next several days, weeks, months trying to get my system back to balance.

The other day I tried to take Cina after reading a post about worms (which I believe I still have) from Dr. Showrav. Then he said is was not the correct remedy for me so I stopped. In the interim, I took grapeseed extract in case I had an infection of some sort. This recent reaction was from eating bacon, cured and noncured pork.. Sort of felt some improvement.

Two days ago, gave myself and acupuncture treatment because I was feeling rather desperate for relief. I also did a guided healing meditation exercise which has proven rather effective for me. Felt much calmer afterward that night had a bit of insomnia over a big presentation the next day. I took coffee cruda to try and help me sleep. My stomach felt better yesterday. Stools more formed/ Today, still ok. We'll see how it goes. Maybe I broke the spell of bad reaction.

Question is, Dr. Showrav now suggested I take Cina. I'm worried to take it now because I'm finally feeling better. Is this sure, because initially Dr. Showrav suggested Cina was incorrect for me. I wonder if he has had a chance to read my longer symptom picture and Q&A which I have posted here. Also, I need trace minerals in order to satisfy my hunger. I believe I still have some parasites in my system (roundworm and giardia possibly)and that is when I started to feel bad (after Ecuador in 2000).

Thank You. With gratitude for suggestions, and information. I know I have a long multi-faceted case. Many thanks.

Dr. showrav is not working with you
on this thread. He is working with
you on the other thread.

Dr. Showrav knows what he is doing.
He is not going to work with you
if you start taking other remedies
and other potencies etc. Bc it mixes
up everything. What you do is take what
he said for the time he said, and take
EXACTLY WHAT DOSE he said and then
report back in - if he said take it for
a week then report back in after a week/

Other wise it is too complicated to work with you online if you
do not follow directions- and start
taking other stuff-they volunteer
their time on here, you have to decide
to follow his guidance and then do
it - he knows what he is doing and
he does not have time to answer tons
of questions- it just won't work.

Use the other thread to report back
in to Dr. Showrav, that is the one
he is using for you- I was hoping
he would still guide you on that other
thread and he said he would-but
you have to do what he said or
he won't bother. I would not use
this thread anymore- it is just
going to confuse things.

simone717 last decade
Just fyi- you have to look at cases
on this forum and see how people
approach cases. Dr. showrav if you
click on his name has a homeopathy
clinic in Bangladesh, He does not
use all the questions on the form you
filled out. He gives remedy prescriptions
and then asks his own questions and
is very specific about moving out
a particular problem. Your big problem
is parasites- I am sure Dr. Showrav
has had tons of parasite cases!!

He also does not do that many cases
on here bc of his busy practice. So
if you follow him and do what he says
then he can see where you are when
this problem is gone. There is also
a bit of language barrier so you have
to keep it simple and pay strict
attention to what is being said and
prescribed.

Other people on here work differently-
and no one has picked up this thread,
however if it was me I would want to
make sure parasites are gone gone gone- and then see where I was at
with the rest of me-many things
might clear up once parasites are
really gone.

simone717 last decade
Makes sense, Simone717. Thanks for the suggestions. Will follow up after doing suggested remedy on other thread. Thanks

samiami last decade
good luck -I had a good feeling
about this when he said he would
guide you-that it was the right
way to go and have someone very
experienced in the parasite removal
part. Just have to communicate like
you are texting ,fyi :)
