This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
If the child is aggravated by downward motion Borax should help.

It is not particularly strongly indicated for epilepsy. I have also read the comments made that it is 'highly useful' and yet when you look through the repertory, the materia medica, through clinical cases, it seems to be a lesser choice when compared to remedies like Cuprum, Belladonna, Hyoscamus, Camphor and others.

In the repertory it only has 4 rubrics for convulsions. That really doesn't make it very indicated at all. When you compare it to a remedy like Belladonna which has pages of convulsion symptoms, it is a minor remedy for the problem. Of course, in any Borax patient, it would cure, just as any simillimum would. I wonder how often you would actually see it in clinic though.

I believe the raw substance was used allopathically for epilepsy, and so this has carried over into homoeopathic literature. However the allopathic use of a drug does not always show its best homoeopathic use.

The keynote for Borax epilepsy appears to be that it happens from sudden loud noise. There is not much else written about Borax epilepsy. It is as if everyone was repeating the statement it is useful, but few people had actually seen it.

Of course.

Convulsions, spasms, internal
Convulsions, spasms, clonic
Convulsions, spasms, epileptic
Convulsions, spasms, tonic

As you can see, they are not particularly specific. Such broad symptoms would rarely lead you to a particular remedy.
