Auto Immune issues and The Transfer Factor

I have a dog who has auto immune issues. I am administering The Transfer Factor (Classic).

Originally I gave him 1.5 months' supply of The Transfer Factor (Plus) (1 x twice daily) but a (human) naturopath advised me to give him the 'Classic' instead, informing me that the 'Classic' comprising of only bovine colostrum ';balances' the auto immune system, rather than getting it to work faster/better than it already was. (The last part of this sentence is my words as I can't remember how she put it, exactly.)

I've read elsewhere on this forum (a topic related to Canine Pemphigus)where The Transfer Factor *Plus* was recommended.

Have I got my dog on the wrong one?

ETA: And I do beg your pardon - I'm new to this forum and should have introduced myself by at least saying 'hi' first. I'm from Aussie :).

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
I think there are a few people here who seem to know something about herbs, they might be able to advise you.

Have you considered homoeopathy for your dog? Homoeopathy is what this forum is all about.

Thank you for your reponse, BrisbaneHomoeopath. I have had a little bit of homeopathic assistance with him, but much has been naturopathic assistance. Between the two I do believe I have helped his system progress a reasonable amount.

I apologise if I am in the incorrect forum for my question regarding 'Transfer Factor Classic' -vs- 'Transfer Factor Plus'.

If someone does have an opinion or answer to my query in that regard, I'd appreciate their input. But if not, I understand that I may be intruding and will pursue my enquiry elsewhere if I can.

Again, I apologise if I have entered the wrong forum. I admit to getting confused at times between Homoeopathy and Naturopathic remedies.

There is no issue with asking any kind of health related question here. I am just not sure how many people on this forum will know much about the naturopathic medicine.

Homoeopathy and Naturopathy are as different as night and day really :)

Also if you are anywhere near Brisbane or the Sunshine Coast, I know a couple of homoeopathic vets who could be of use to you.

Silent Raindrops,

I hope your dog is doing fine, it is nearing half a year since you posted. You did not say how old is your dog which could be a determining factor on which supplement to use. My parents have a 16 year old (!) Chow Chow. Aya is sweet and spoiled!
Anyway, my mom took a good care of her because usually Chow-Chows live expectancy is 9 to 12 years.

Lately my parents with my help discovered transfer factor supplements and became very happy with it. My mom also decided to give it to Aya (our dog). She gave her both Classic and Plus transfer factor. And on top of that GluCoach which is designed to balance your glucose and partially endocrine hormone level. Poor Aya started throwing up with blood in a week or so. We dont know weather it was due to taking transfer factor supplements or not, the dog is 16 year old after all. They stopped giving her any supplements and she became fine.

I would not recommend giving an old dog anything but Transfer Factor Classic to start the therapy. Plus could be too heavy on an old body so you kinda have to prepare your dog first and then use heavy artillery.

I would also like to express my opinion on weather Transfer factor supplement relate to homeopathic treatments or not.

Homeopathic main approach is to treat the body with a highly diluted substances with a goal to trigger a natural body's response. At a certain approach Transfer Factor does the same, it teaches an immune system how to recognize and fight bacteria or infection. Weather it could be classified as homeopathic is arguable but it is very similar in terms of general purpose of healing.
I started my own site discussing the benefits if transfer factor, if this is ok I am providing it but if not I can delete it: transferfactor1on1
