That is the wrong answer. It depends.
1. if it is the wrong remedy you could
start 'proving the remedy' meaning
you start having the symptoms that
merc sol is to cure.
And they would wear off eventually but
it won't be a pleasant time.
You need to be sure you understand
dosing and if you have improvements
stop taking it, or aggravate- stop
taking it and let it work.

Simone is correct. Every homoeopathic remedy can have side effects. This is most likely when the medicines are used inappropriately ie. when combination remedies are used, or a medicine is prescribed simply on the name of your condition rather than looking at the whole case.
Homoeopathic medicines can actually be quite dangerous in the hands of people who do not respect it, or who are not trained fully in how to use it. While they are not toxic like pharmaceutical medicines, they are actually more powerful in many ways and can create very deep long lasting effects.
Any perons who tries to tell you homoeopathy doesn't have side effects is just trying to sell you something. You should immediately distrust them.

Recently I read that Merc-sol 200 was preventive and curative medicine for swine flu. Is it true?

Hi Landi,
1. First no homeopath is going to tell
you to take anything as a PREVENTATIVE.
The preventative would be having a
strong vital force which you work on
based on remedies for your particular
system.
2. Classical Homeopaths and others
will say that you do not take one
Homeopathic remedy as the only
curative answer for one disease-
that would be an allopathic approach.
3. Others will have something to say
about point #2 and specifically
the swine flu .

There is a method for prophylaxis in homoeopathy, put forward by Hahnemann in the Organon of Medicine. During an epidemic you take the symptoms of many patients, and you come to a kind of genus epidemicus - a group of remedies will cover this specific epidemic. It is possible to give people the most highly indicated remedy, if they are in the area being affected, and this can protect them from getting the actual disease.
This is not fullproof though, and in reality any patient could manifest a different set of symptoms, requiring work to find their specific remedy.
There is a difference between homoeopathic prophylaxis, which still obeys the principles of homoeopathy, and homoeopathic vaccination, which is a corruption of our philosophy to make it more like allopathic medicine.
