too mutch bronchial mucus

Hi. My nice from Europe is here to visit me and she cant get rid from her bronchial mucus. She got a cold in the last winter and didnt lost it till now.
She was by her doctor got antibiotica 2x. Her mother tried to give her herbal drops ( the helpt a little). Now since she is here at my house i gave her Ipecacuanha 6x. Nothing..... what else could I give her.
The mucus is very hard to cough out. Sometimes she needs to vomiting otherwise she cant get it out of her throat.
It is more worse in bed. It sounds like she smoke 100 cigarets a day. (but is a nonsmoker)

thanks in advance

You can make her inhale steam from an open electric jug or kettle. This will soften the mucus and help her to cough it out.

You may also use physiotherapy on her chest by tapping on both sides immediately after inhaling steam when she is in bed with her head lower than the body to help the mucus to come out. You may discover that she may bring out a cupful of mucus.

Does she have any problem with a Wheeze ? Asthma ?

thanks for all your responds.

She hasn't any problems with wheeze or asthma. the only funny part is that she looses sometimes her voice. I past on now all your infos to her mother. she will go and to all this things. My niece is leaving in a couple of days so she needs to follow up in her country (austria).
thanks
