Severe constipation in kids
Age: 3.5 yearsWeight: 11kg/ 25pounds
Height:94cm/ 37 inches
Country: Pakistan
Climate: Mostly hot.
Complaint: Child doesn't feel the urge to pass stool. It does not pass for days until I give him some laxative like Skilax. I have tried Nux, Pulsatilla and Chamomilla. Only Chamomilla + Skilax worked but stopped working after a couple of weeks.
His over-all health is good except he is towards lesser weight within normal limit and have a comparatively shorter structure than other children of his age. Eating habits are normal. He is a happy child but weak eye sight with a squint in left eye. Has a history of intestinal worms that is resolved for some time now. Can anybody please help?

Please give him Alumina 30 in the morning and evening for 3 days and see how that affects in next few days.
One dose means
If the medicine is in pills form 2 pills. Don't touch pills with hand. Use cap of bottle to take pills.
If the medicine is in liquid dilution form, 2 drops in some 20 ml water. Sip up slowly.
Please follow homeo restrictions like no coffee, no raw onion/garlic, no strong perfumes, don't eat or drink anything within 30 minutes before or after taking medicine.

Thanks kadwa. We have given him Alimina 30 for 3 days and it has been four days so far. He passed full stool only once since we started Alumina and stopped other medicine. Now he is passing stool in bits, almost 8 to 10 times a day but no full evacuation. Stool is towards dry side though not very dry. I guess we have to administer suppository tomorrow. Please advise...

You may repeat the remedy and see whether it helps. Bryonia 30 is another remedy that may help.
If he has ineffectual desire to pass stools, the remedy is nux vomica 30.
