Hair Loss and Premature Grey Hair

Hello, I have filled out the questionnaire (see below). I started with gray hair at age 17 and by age 33 had 50% gray hair. I have lost hair after each childbirth, which slows, but does not seem to grow back. Now I am experiencing great hair loss again and it is so troubling because you can see my scalp at the temples and the hair loss is not slowing down. I lose a handful every day.

Patient ID:
Sex: Female
Age: 39

Please answer the following questions in a descriptive manner after careful analysis and recollection of previous experiences and happenings.

1. Describe your main suffering? Hair loss, which has gotten to be severe hair loss after childbirth and premature grey hair. I have lost hair periodically, especially after childbirth in the past, but it doesn't seem to re-grow and my hair is getting so thin now that you can see my scalp at the temples.

2. What other physical sufferings do you have in your body?

Lower back stiff and sore when I stand up. When I run my right hip seems to go out of place afterward and I have to see a chiropractor to have it adjusted. Very tight right shoulder up by my neck. At night I can't lay on my sides too long or my arms and hands fall asleep. Especially my right side.

3. What mental sufferings / feelings do you have associated with your physical sufferings?

Mild gloominess sometimes, but my normal state is cheerful and active. I tend to stay very busy and don't rest a lot, though in the last 6 months or so I have started waking early and sitting with a cup of coffee for an hour or so by myself, which I really like.

4. What exactly do you feel when you are at your worst?

In the morning when I shower or do my hair, handfuls come out.

5. When did it all start? Can you connect it to any past event or disease?

I have X-Linked Hypophosphotaemia, which means my kidneys don't resorb phosphorous. Side affects of this genetic disease are tooth abscesses and bone and joint problems, but I am taking some natural supplements under the care of a doctor, and have not had abscess problems for years. No noticeable joint or bone problems, except mild arthritic-type pains when I am outside in the very cold during winter.

6. Which time of the day you are worst?

I don't know.

7. What are the things which aggravate your suffering and which are those which ameliorate the same?

Cold and bright sunlight.

8. Do your think your sufferings have relation to any external stimuli (like, change of place) or any internal biological changes in the body, like, menses (in females)?

No.

9. When do you feel better, during hot weather or cold weather, humid or dry weather?

I do not like either hot or cold weather or humid weather. I do best within just a small temperature range where I am comfortable.

10. Describe your general mental set up? Are you Moody, Arrogant, Mild, Agreeable Changeable, Nervous, Suspicious, Easily offended, Quiet, Arguing, Irritating, Lazy etc.

I can be moody and easily offended sometimes.

- How do you feel before or during a thunderstorm? Tired.

- Do you like being consoled during your tough times? I like being ameliorated, not consoled.

- Are you sensitive to external stimuli like smell, noise, light etc? Yes. Very much to light and to noise. I can't stand whistling in the house or loud noises very often.

- Do you have any typical habit or gesture like nail biting, causeless
weeping, talking to one self etc? I don't think so.

- How do you feel about your friends, family, your children and especially your husband / wife?

I love my children very much. I like to spend time with them, although I like to be alone, too, sometimes. And I love my husband as he is a very good man, but I find him boring. I am easily offended by him, even though he is well intentioned and is not trying to offend me.

11. What are your fears and do you dream of any situation repeatedly?

I don't have strong fears anymore. But I try to protect my family from harm by reminding them to be careful or be safe when they are in situations (such as a child riding a bicycle in the street) where it could be dangerous. I would not say I am overprotective at all, though.

12. What do you crave for in food items and what are your aversions?

Coffee. Very addicted to coffee. I daydream about it. But I know that I am sensitive to coffee and it gives me problems - headaches, tight shoulders, etc... I do not like seafood or slimy things.

13. How is your thirst: Less, Normal or Excessive? Normal

14. How if your hunger: Less, Normal or Excessive? Normal

15. Is there any kind of food which your body can’t stand? Coffee

16. Is your sweat normal or less or more? Where does it sweat more: Head, Trunk or Limbs? Normal. Trunk.

17. How is your bowel movement and stool type? Fine.

18. How well do you sleep? Do you have a particular posture of sleeping? I have to sleep on my left side or my back because of my arms falling asleep on the right more. But I have to change position a lot because my arms and hands fall asleep a lot.

19. Do you think you are able to satisfy your sexual desires in general? Yes.

20. How do you think you are different from others, if at all?

I always seem to do things differently from others. I do a lot of 'alternative' things like childbirth at home instead of in a hospital, teaching my children at home instead of sending them away to school, training my horse with an alternative training style instead of traditional horse training methods, etc... I really enjoy trying 'different' ways of doing things, that seem more natural and are I don't like to be dependent on others.

21. What medications have been taken earlier by you to treat the diseases and do you have any particular symptom surfacing after the medication?

I took Lycopodium 30c - self prescribed 1-2 doses daily. I have deep lines in my forehead and premature graying and hair loss were the main indicators. As well as chilliness. It worked at first to stop the hair loss, then I started drinking coffee daily before the childbirth (it may or may not be connected) and the hair loss resumed after childbirth and is quite severe. I tried stopping coffee and taking Lycopodium again for a couple of days but am still losing plenty of hair.

22. What major diseases are running in your family?

X-linked Hypophosphotaemia.

23. Describe, how do you look like? Describe your overall appearance

I am short (5'2'). Average weight. My body is not well proportioned. I am very short in the mid-section and from my hips to my knees. My top section and knees on down are those of a 5'6' or taller woman. I have deep lines in my forehead. Skin tones is yellow-ish.

24. (ONLY FOR FEMALES)

Please answer the following questions:
(Please give details of your past menstruation if you have attained menopause.)

- Are the periods early, regular or late in general? How long do they last? They have been a little late recently (after childbirth) and they last about 8 days.

- Do you suffer from any kind of physical or mental discomfort before, during or after the periods?

Once in a while a little pain in the lower back, but not all the time, and not severe at all.

- Is the flow scanty, normal or excessive? Normal

- Is the blood thick bright red or pale watery?, Normal flow

- Do you notice any clots in the flow? No.

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
Perhaps I should mention, too, that in regard to #10, I frequently imagine a little cottage where I can go by myself to get away from things - usually from my husband, who is not unkind, but gets irritable when he is overworked. But anytime I feel stressed, I can't stop thinking about getting away.

Please take three doses of Kali Carb 200 as follows and see how that affects in next 15 days (only 3 doses in 15 days).

day 1 morning
1st dose

day 1 evening
2nd dose

day 2 morning
3rd dose

One dose means
If the medicine is in pills form 2 pills. Don't touch pills with hand. Use cap of bottle to take pills.
If the medicine is in liquid dilution form, 2 drops in some 20 ml water. Sip up slowly.

Please follow homeo restrictions like no raw onion/garlic, no strong perfumes, don't eat or drink anything within 30 minutes before or after taking medicine. Please don't take coffee one hour before or after the remedy.

I think the dosage was rather successful. My hair loss has slowed considerably. Some days I tend to lose more hair, but the heavier loss days are now like the lighter loss days before the dosage. Should I repeat the dose to further reduce the hair loss? Thank you!
