pcos - need help

Hi Everyone,

I had diagniosed with PCOS when I was 18. Now I am 27, I have been on allopathic medicine postpone tablets – to regularize my cycles. However, I have been tested negative on hyper-thyroid. I feel really frustrated that I am unable to lose weight. Primarliy, I would want to get healthy. And probably later have a child, though I know that I don’t have much time to wait now.

I would really appreciate your inputs on this regard.

Thanks and Regards

I checked out your ailment on the web and here is what I found about it:

What PCOS Is and Isn't

Is also known as Stein-Leventhal Syndrome or Polycystic Ovary Disease (PCOD).
Affects an estimated 6-10% of all women and most don't even know they have it.
Is treatable, but not curable, by medications, changes in diet and exercise.
Is one of the leading causes of infertility in women.
Has been identified for 75 years and they still aren't sure what causes it.
Affects far more than just reproduction.
IT IS NOT just a cosmetic problem.
Can include the following symptoms:

Irregular or absent menses
Numerous cysts on the ovaries in many, but not all, cases
High blood pressure
Acne
Elevated insulin levels, Insulin Resistance, or Diabetes
Infertility
Excess hair on the face and body
Thinning of the scalp hair (alopecia)
Weight Problems or obesity that is centered around your mid section.

I am afraid that I am not qualified to suggest any remedy as yours is a deep rooted problem which I have not read about, but I am confident that others, especially those who consider themselves the classical homeopaths may be able to help you.

I shall follow their advice with interest.

Problem here is probably due to past gyne treatment.

There is such a rash of PCO´s that one suspects that the well known Hering´s Law is in operation---" the direction of disease is inward and upward--- the direction of cure is downward and outward."

This means that allopathy "cures" symptoms --- but NOT the ROOT of the problem.

In this case the "cured" symptom simply travels to another point in the body and sets up another problem -- but at a deeper level!

It may not be the case in you particular problem , but I am sure that it IS in many.

So to consider the problem one needs to know about any medical treatment given to you in the past 2 and a half years.

I'v ben wonderind about he question walkin' asked "WHY the rash of PCOs these days". Maybe its something to do with the use of tampons - some years ago there was the TSS alert, so women are more careful about changing, but I wonder if not letting the discharge flow out naturally all the day, as when sanitary napkins are used, might not be responsible for this increase in PCos- to some extent, at least.

Thanks for the response everyone!

In the last few years, i have been on a postpone tablet. I start with one cycle and that doesn't stop. The postepone drug stop the cycle and fresh cycle in about few days. The second cycle stops in five days.

I have my cycles once in three months. I have been overweight most of my life, which my be the reason for PCOS.

Since I had plans on getting pregnant, my gynac suggested that i use glusophase daily two pills. which i haven't started yet.

Let me know your thoughts on this.

Sorry seems - your problem kind of got lost in the talk.
You need to give a whole lot more info about yourself, your periods, starting from when you had the first menses, pain, kind of bleeding et al. Tell us about your nature, your feelings, what you like, what annoys you, whether you are happier in warmth or cold, what you like and don't like eating, any significant changes /events etc. I presume you're married.
Any access to a homeopath? - this really would be better treated in person.

Thanks Minsa, Let me try to get this right this time. Hope this helps.

I first menses was when I was 14; my cycles were normal till I was about 18. I used to walk 8 KMs to college. When I joined the degree I started traveling in a two wheeler. Due to this lack of exercise I put on a little weight. After that I had a cycle that never stopped for days together. That’s when it was diagnosed as PCOS, based on an ultrasound scan. It was treated with hormones initially and I put on more weight, which I find very hard to put off despite tremendous effort.

However, the bleeding is generally heavy, with clots. Clots are some times stringy. Initially bleeding is dark red, in the following days the color lightens to bright red. It lasts for about 5 days. I do have crams and acne before the cycles start.

As a person I am generally happy. Thou I get irritated sometimes for minute things. My attention span is not very long for any issue. I tend to lose interest were fast. I do think I carry inferiority complex, since I have been obese most of my life.

I like spicy food in the evenings; I tend to eat a lot of carbohydrates like bread, rice, pasta and pizzas.

There has been no other significant change or events that are worth mentioning.

Yes your assumption is right; I have been married for 3 years now. I have not using any birth control pills or any other pre-caution, yet I am unable to conceive during these 3 years.

I enjoy colder climate better. I can’t stand the summer, with little heat I tend to sweat a lot on the back.

I do have access to homeopath doctors and stores. However, I am not sure if they have knowledge this, since most of them treat allergies.

Thanks and Regards,

Thanks. Shall work with this and ask if I need any more info, and get back to you.
I know you are probably anxious re. conceiving - please relax - all in good time. Better anyway if you're totally well andcontent with yourself before you have a baby, don't you think?

Starting menses late indicates that there has always been a hormonal imbalance . All the indications from 14 on have been compounding it.

What have the last 4/5 generations of your family died of? - it may be partly hereditary.

Thanks Walkin,

I suppose it is due to harmonal imbalance. my pervious generation don't and didn't have an issue with this regard. I doudt the reason been hereditary. I think it majorly the diet and lifestyle issue and to a large extent harmonal.

You have misunderstood my posst . It is often the case that constitutionalmiasmatic treatment is required to deal with a problem. In order to determin what is required it is necessary to know what people of past generations have died.

It points to the hereditary susceptibility which may be at the root of the problem.
It is sometimes possible that hormonal problems can be solved by the use of glandular remedies.

Pineal 6x and Thymus 6x are the items to use.
