The ABC Homeopathy Forum

suggeted conventions for forum

Dear All,

Of late I am receiving quite a few emails on my personal mail Id from forum participants. In which they ask questions regarding how to choose one medicine from the other or who’s advice to follow etc.
Actually there are three types of Patients I notice.
One is those who already have SOME knowledge about Homoeopathy and they try to analyse or check as to how right or wrong is the advice given.
The second type is those who are confused as to which prescription to follow when there are multiple advices coming from 2-3 docs.

Thirdly are those who ask for the advice from a specific doctor by name.
I feel that we as advisors need to form certain conventions to follow to remove this sort of confusion.
First of all my request to type 1 patients is NOT to check & analyse what the advice has come & follow it in all good faith. Here we are all to help each other & not to pass the judgments.
Do we question when we go to an Allopath, He just ignores you by brushing aside our questions.
Regarding the type 2 people it is the responsibility of the experts on panel to refrain ( for a while ) from giving alternative advice to an already given advice by someone else.
My practice is to write only to a stream which has zero response, to begin with.
We are certainly not on this forum to compete with each other’s competency. We all learn from each other but certainly NOT at the cost of patient’s confusion.
Lastly, for the 3rd type, let us allow only the specific doctor to response, at least to start with.
Finally, I request all the people who avail the facility of treatment need to understand that experts do spend their time & energy in deciding the prescription & they need to be given due credit just by having faith in their efforts.
I have tried to make my point without any offence to anybody.
Hoping for a WIN-WIN situation.

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
Agreed daktersab but there is no way we can satisfy the people in Type-1. These people don't trust anyone & simply enjoy wasting other's time & energies by getting multiple advices & then verifying those prescriptions from few others & finally picking 1 or 2 remedies out of the prescribed one & furthermore they themselves decide the potencies & dosing methods as they think they are super sensitive or are out of this world so they need totally different frequency of dose.

Yes Asad, you are right. They do not trust others becos. they have no trust in themselves.
God bless them. We can say only that much.
However, let us help type 2 & 3.

Hi Dr. Saab,

what you have written is a continual issue on here.

And there is no way to stop 'new' drs etc from suddenly appearing
on threads and saying - take this and then another saying take
that. Sometimes these are old people who show up out of
nowhere doing this.-Simply rude.
.

I think you have to establish some ground rules first with
your patient or this continues to go on and the patient thinks
it is ok most of time- Like -Wow I can have 3 people working
on me at once- more must be better.

My suggestion would be at some point before or after suggesting remedy
to patient , that you ask patient to email you in order to continue to
see and agree with your terms of treatment. Whatever those terms are-
for you personally. Something like- my time and your time are valuable
and I am willing to spend my time and focus on you, however the
ground rules are: 1.Do not make other posts on forum for other problems-
I treat the totality.2. Please ignore others coming into your treatment
thread with other prescriptions- you can refer those people to email me3.
if at any time you decide you want to go with another consultant that
is fine, just let me know and post another thread for that person. 4. If
your query is for a second opinion on other ongoing
treatment ( outside of forum), please be upfront, as I am willing to give
second opinions ( or not) second opinions are a different
process than taking the whole case.etc.

and whatever else you want to put in there. This will give patients a heads
up on what is to be expected, bc most do not read any rules of forum and
do not understand about other prescriptions, etc. And most people do
keep agreements. This will save a lot of time and having to explain the same things over and over again.

Thanks simon717,
I am waiting for the reply of our other consultants also.
Their experiences will also be helpful as to how they see the problem and how they tackle it.
Warm regards,

Sir,

You gave me advice regarding sore throat and nasal conj (thx it worked).I have been taking homeopathic medicines since 2 yr(Since i was 2 yrs old).
In 16 yrs I recognised that faith in the doctor is very essential.
I am sharing my own exp reguarding doctors.
Since childhood I visited a doctor in Pune(I am not sharing his name). He treated me very well even in worse conditions.I have full faith im him.Last year he stopped consulting.
Now I go to a local homeopath near my house.I feel that his medicines dont work on me.It gives me an instant relief followed by other symptoms.
I asked my previous doc. (he has 40 yrs of exp in homeopathy).
He told me go to any doctor any pathy trust is must. One should only remember that a doctor has an aim only to cure patients.
Thankx

Yes Akki you are absolutely right. When we have so much of faith in an unseen, invisible power like God then why not have faith in a person who is live, speaking, well-wisher and visible before us.

If you have given the doctor your trust and a good
amount of time and you are not getting better,
it is just common sense to try another doctor or
method.

sometimes things have to be looked at with new eyes,
or different methods.I have had to do that with my
children a couple times, I liked their doctor but nothing
was getting cured. Switched drs. and methods and
they were well in a couple weeks.

Same thing on this forum, you can see cases that have
gone on for very long time and told to wait and wait,
and bc people had to switch due to unavailability they
are now almost well, or well and not even on the forum.
It is hard to switch over when you are very comfortable
with a person but sometimes it is necessary.
