I'm 39 - Need help w/ possible hormone imbalance

Hello,

Looking for a little feedback. I don't know if this is a hormone thing (since it coincides with my cycle) or if it has anything to do with a virus I had earlier this spring. I am 39yrs old and have 3 children. I have weight issues and skin issues (psoriasis).

In March 2012, I had a 3wk stomach virus (diarrhea, no vomiting) that resulted in an overnight stay to the hospital for dehydration and electrolyte imbalance. They pushed potassium and magnesium heavily for 2 days via IV. I had started my period the same day I went into the hospital.

2 weeks after that hospital visit, I experienced swollen feet worse than when I was pregnant. My feet/ankles were square and I could barely get socks on. This was completely out of the ordinary for me. I have experienced some slight water retention from my period (tight rings on hand, etc.) but nothing like this...and it wasn't during my period.

It finally subsided, but now, since March, I experience the same extreme swelling of my feet during my menstrual cycle. It occurs about a day before the start of my period and it is not unusual for me to gain 10+ pounds in weight within a 2-day period of this water retention. (The weight and swelling will subside after about 3-5 days)

Along with the swelling (which occurs actually during menstruation), I break out in a red, pimple-like rash under one or both arms and down my torso during ovulation. It's usually on my right side, but occasionally will also be on my left. It's always more severe on my right side. The rash starts off as red bumps and then each forms a head like a pimple. The head is white with a yellow/green tinge to it. Most of the bumps will come to a head.

This has been like clockwork since March. The rash is driving me nuts. Just about the time it heals, another round starts (it usually begins 1-2 days prior to ovulation). Some of the pimples are very sore, others don't bother me. Most of the sore spots come from where my bra rubs against my skin.

My period is overall normal, no heavy cramping or anything. It's a fairly regular 28-32 day cycle. I'm at a loss. I don't like the idea of diuretics, but have tried them, the OTC kind (just to put my shoes on) with no discernible difference. There's no real pain from the swollen feet, just tightness.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!
