Dr.Reva Guidence for oedema
Dear Dr.Reva,I am treating a patient(free of cost) with joint pain I gave him ars 30 and Ledum200 several times in last two months as per his symptoms with a gap of 7-10 days, he is much better in last but since one month he has oedema that started on right foot and now both legs and ancles remain oedematic with glossy appearence (he is a panvala with meager income). He is standing with little rest every 20 mins on chair,his age is 66 yrs and is doing this business for last 30 yrs or so.He is tall,thin,fair,tendency of low BP,and says his frotonnels were not healed in child hood for long time (sil),he consumed alchohal for abt 30 yrs every day but in limit(2 pegs),His striking modality of oedema is that it comes when he is standing and is not there in the morning when he comes for business ,it increases within 2-3 hrs of standing.Also some times sleepless in night with muscular an joint(knees and shoulders and some times backache)prior to 8-10 days of spells of lassitude and no will to work just lye down ,this typical viscious phenomenon is repeating, can you suggest for him on these striking symptom.
P S-I initially gave him Arnica,Beillis.p.,Ruta,Rhus.tox,(ALL 200)But all these aggrevate his pains,but he said he had a feeling that he should end his life but with the remedies now he does'nt have that feeling.

God bless you for helping people who cannot afford to go to doctor or sit in the computer like all of us. This is true service to man kind. Many thanks. It is heart breaking to see the poor requesting the medical shop to fit their prescription within the bills in hand - one who cannot replace their torn slippers for years. Pain hurts every one equally. I dont get any courage to ask them to stop alcohol. without it how can be indifferent?
I claim no better than you or anyone in this forum. I am sharing my opinion.
One general request. Never use Rhus Tox on old, especially on weak vitality, even if well indicated. It kills them faster. If you give it, always antidote after a few days with Bryonia.
Swollen feet is very likely heart trouble (Definite Medication, Eli G Jones, Page 110). Getting worse after standing, in feet dropsy, is NOT peculiar and hence this is a weak modality to base the prescription on. Please look for peculiar symptoms.
For him, I suggest to give a few doses of Aurum Met 30, may be twice a day for a few days. If this does not address in a few days, you can alternate Apis Mel 30 and Sulphur 30 (one dose of each in one day) for 3 days and stop. You can always write back in this thread for every one's opinion.

About the case,
! for last two months the patient has left the alchohal,he said he did'nt get that urge after our rmedies,once he had that urge and he asked me 'saab thodi leloon kya' I told him no problem to take but he will again pulled into that 'quicksand'and he refrained.
2.Your point abt Rhus tox is noted.I had given him bryo 200after 8-10 days of R.T. because of symptoms of oedima(it works well for such oedema but High BP tendecy is more favourable)he got relief also but that lassitude started and he did'nt come to shop for 6 days.Then I stopped that .He is on Cretagus Q+Cactus Q for last 15 days owing to the very idea of weakness of heart that you already mentioned in your post.With a dose Bellis.P.200 again ,he says he is comfortable now.Lets see what comes next..
3.I have noted the remedies suggested by you I will surely try on indications.
