Dr. Kadwa Pls Help

My mother, 65, Indian female, is suffering from rheumatoid arthritis, for many years. Till last year she was able to cope, as the pains were tolerable and the attacks in between. But now it has crippled her as the knees are swollen and in continuous pain. She has trouble getting up from sitting position and walking and going up and down stairs is very painful, when the pains are acting up. Other affected areas are her wrists, ankles and fingers. She is not able to close her fists for the last two years, as her fingers are too stiff. Nor can she lift her arms above the shoulders.

She also suffers from diabetes, which till now she had controlled through diet and exercise, but recently started taking one tablet daily of an allopathic drug to help regulate it, as she had been feeling great bodily weakness in recent months.

In food, she avoids sour as it aggravates her pains, and sweet because of diabetes. As a result she is left with very few choices in what to eat, which makes her feel trapped and helpless. She has a history of nervous depression, with the most recent attack being in 2007. even now, when her pains are at their worst and she is dependent on others around her for everything, she slips into an angry depression.

She has experimented with homeopathy in the past, sometimes helpful, sometimes not. For the last 10 months she was taking an ayurvedic concoction, which was helpful as long as she did not miss a dose. But now she does not want to take it anymore as she doesn't want top be dependent on anything on daily basis. So she has not taken it in the last two weeks, as a result of which her pains returned with vengeance and she was most miserable for about 10 days. A little better now, but your advise would be greatly appr

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
Please give her Nux Vomica 200 in the morning and evening for 3 days and see how that affects in next 7-10 days.
Later she should take Rhus Tox 200 in the same way and see how that affects.
Bromium, Causticum, Pulsatilla and Antimonium Crud also appear at the top of analysis and do have chances of working. The remedies may be taken one by one with gap between remedies.

As suggested by you, my mom took Nux Vomica 200 and then followed up with Rus Tox 200. The effect of Nux Vomica was, some aggravation followed by a period of some improvement. Similarly for Rus Tox. But she became restless and impatient after the Rus Tox dose, as she did not feel marked improvement. My dad who pursues Homeopathy as a hobby, then gave her a dose Calc Carb 200. After that she has been better, so that she is able to manage her daily routine of toilet bath etc without help. But the progress is slow and not enough to make her comfortable. Is there something you would suggest in the present situation?

Calc should help her. The remedy should be repeated only when there is a significant relapse in her symptoms. Things take their own time and one can't just rush through.
