Advice Needed Please

Hi

I'm looking for some advice on which remedies to take and in what strengths.

I'm 33, 5ft4 and weigh 195lbs. I'm a vegetarian and eat a fairly healthy diet. I have several health issues so understand it may be complicated and the post is a long one.

1) PCOS

I was diagnosed with PCOS (Polycystic Ovary Syndrome) around 10 years ago and due to this am infertile. I started my periods at 14 but have never been regular (except when on the contraceptive pill). I have the usual symptoms that go along with it: hair loss on head, hirsutism on my face, weight gain, inability to lose weight, slight acne, excess testosterone levels, low progesterone levels and I don't have periods or ovulate naturally. I get a lot of cramps in the ovary and uterus areas regularly which are like a dull ache. Occasionally I get really sharp, twisting pains in the left ovary area, which literally doubles me over in pain. I have had IVF treatment in the past, the first attempt resulted in me overstimulating and I was in hospital for 4 days with OHSS and the other 2 attempts of FET (frozen embryo transfer) failed. I was on Metformin 1500mg a day for around 2 years but it didn't make any difference whatsoever to the weight loss and gave me terrible stomach pains.

2) M.E

I have M.E (Chronic Fatigue Syndrome) which I developed around 3.5 years ago but think it was starting fully approximately 7 years ago. It has taken over my life and I now cannot work, nor can I exercise very much which doesn't help with the weight loss. I was put on Amitryptilene 50mg at night, which I weaned myself off as it caused me to gain around 30lbs even though I reduced my calorie intake to just 800 calories a day and had side effects.

My main M.E symptoms are extreme fatigue especially after physical or mental activity which I can push myself though but then 'pay' for doing so; I get tired and breathless right away but the full effects take up to 3 days to start. I get muscle and joint pain daily, especially in my hips and legs and muscles can be very sore and tender to touch; it generally feels like I'm walking through treacle most days. My legs sometimes get very weak and shaky so I have trouble supporting myself.

I lose my grip on things and my hands sometimes kind of fix in place and I can't move them until I shake them. I have spells of dizziness/vertigo as well as problems with my balance so am very clumsy some days.

I get sore ears, throat and suffer from terrible headaches. I also get quite sensitive to light and sound at times.

I seem to have reactions to chemicals or synthetic products as well as food sensitivities to gluten and dairy products (particularly bread, pasta, milk and cream).

My sleep pattern has completely reversed so I can usually only sleep during the day and have insomnia...no matter how much or little I sleep makes any difference to the pain or fatigue. I sometimes sleep for just 2 hours at a time.

I get palpitations almost every day. I also have IBS with mainly trapped wind and constipation.

I'm quite an intelligent person who was used to thinking quickly yet now I have days where I can't remember anything, have difficulty concentrating and my head feels very 'foggy'. When I get like that badly enough I seem to stutter or will say things that don't make sense.

I always had insomia every now and from the age of 15 and had nightmares but it is now pretty much every day.

More recently I have had a few episodes where I suddenly get really shaky and need to go and lie down immediately or I'll pass out.

I feel the cold quite a lot but cannot stand summer and being too hot/humid.

I suffer mood swings though I'm not sure if these are related to the PCOS because I've had them before the M.E. Occasionally I get depressed which will last a few days or weeks but I seem to just get out of it.

3) Skin

I have had Ichthyosis Vulgaris all my life, mainly on my scalp and shins although I do have dry skin on most of my body. The palms of hands are quite lined. I find I can't shower/bathe without applying lots of lotion afterwards or my skin feels very tight and unbearable.

I started with Keratosis Pilaris on my arms and legs in my teens.

I have found that bathing in epsom salts and pure coconut oil helps with the keratosis pilaris and dry skin.

My skin seems to heal and regenerate very quickly so I get ingrown hairs etc. This seems to be all over my body. I wonder if this is happening internally too and may be causing more problems with the PCOS?

4) I recently found my thyroid was swollen and have been to the doctors who scanned it and found it was normal looking. My blood tests to see if I have Hypo/Hyper-thyroidism have come back within normal range. I am unsure if they have tested for Hashimoto's disease or Thyroiditis. The doctor has just told me it is a goiter.

5) Other

I bleed quite easily and sometimes bruise badly too.

I have had terrible problems with my teeth for the past 6 years. They have chipped really easily and have had around 7 mouth abscesses in that time. I brush twice a day and don't eat too much sugary things or lots of fruit. It seemed to start the year before I developed M.E.

I am wondering if I have some sort of auto-immune problem as they seem to run in my family (on my mum's side). There's a history of Chron's disease, Rheumatoid Arthritis, Lupus, Addison's Disease, Cushing's Disease, Angina, C.ancers: Stomach, Breast, Ovarian, Cervical and Lung.

I want to try anything to improve my health so I can get my life back and have a family.

Anyway, my apologies for the lengthy post. Any advice given is very greatly appreciated.

Many thanks and regards

Jane

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
Please take three doses of Pulsatilla 200 as follows and see how that affects in next 15 days (only 3 doses in 15 days).

day 1 morning
1st dose

day 1 evening
2nd dose

day 2 morning
3rd dose

One dose means
If the medicine is in pills form 2 pills. Don't touch pills with hand. Use cap of bottle to take pills.
If the medicine is in liquid dilution form, 2 drops in some 20 ml water. Sip up slowly.

Please follow homeo restrictions like no coffee, no raw onion/garlic, no strong perfumes, don't eat or drink anything within 30 minutes before or after taking medicine.

Hi kadwa

Thanks so much for the advice. I did as you instructed on 8th January and had the following happen:

-1st 2 doses: by the evening I noticed I had a little mucus and when I blew my nose it was orange tinged. In the early hours of the morning I felt unable to sleep and was agitated, my skin was prickly and I felt really hot internally. I was clumsy and dropped things. I also felt extremely nauseous.

Final dose: I had backache similar to period pain early morning. By early evening I had cramps every now and then, especially on left side. I was very tired (different to usual ME exhaustion) and I just didn't feel right.

Then after that I was having cramps and ovarian twinges with the occasional temperature rise and nausea.

Around 10 days ago I started a course of Traditional Chinese Medicine and am having lots ovarian pains which have been painful at times. I have had a dull ache in my back, am urinating far more frequently, have a slight loss of appetite and am feeling full very quickly. I have also had heartburn, sulphur burps and bloating; my abdomen feels like there's a mass there which shouldn't be which is pressing on my diaphragm and making me look so bloated. I've also had almost constant nausea and lots of phlegm. I also seem to have had an outbreak of spots which are painful and seem to be mainly blood filled.

I still haven't had a period or anything although I have found that my ME symptoms have decreased, especially the pain and foggy head. I even pushed myself physically past my limit for an entire weekend without any serious relapse or flare up of ME symptoms. This makes me think that the Pulsatilla has helped somewhat with the ME.

My skin also seems to have slightly improved which could also be down to bathing in epsom salts and using raw coconut oil.

Should I re-do the Pulsatilla and, if so how often should I repeat it? Are there any other remedies that I need to take now? Do the symptoms I have sound normal?

Many thanks for all your help

Jane

Please repeat Pulsatilla 200 as earlier and report back after 15 days.
