The ABC Homeopathy Forum

eczema and homeopathy

I have a nine months old baby with eczema. It started when he was 3 months old. He is allergic to milk, peas and beans. I believe (not tested) that he also is allergic to citrus fruits, tomato and carrot. I also believe that other factors such as the pollution, water and fabrics such as polyester is giving him the eczema. We have taken him to the mediterrean (sunshine and saltwater baths) a few times since he developed eczema. Twice he got well only after a few hours. the eczema just disappeared. Unfortunately, it came back when returned to London. Third time we went he got worse due to (I think) the food we gave him.

I use hydrocortison cream every day to ease the redness and itchiness.

Today, I was approached in the streat by a lady that recommended homeopathy. Does it help, cure eczema??? I don't know anything about it. Grateful for any recommendations.

Linda

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
I am glad that you posted your baby's problem on this forum as it can hopefully change his life.

I have used Arnica successfully in the case of many adults who did not react favourably to drugs and also to other Homeopathic remedies with success, and I hope that it can help your baby also.

Please follow the directions below precisely:

Get a 500ml bottle of Spring Water from your nearest supermarket.
Pour out 100ml
Drop in 3 pellets or 1 drop of liquid Arnica 30c into the 400ml water
Cap the bottle tightly and succuss it 4-6 times by banging on your palm and look out for the air bubbles to fizzle up from the bottom.
Pour out 1 teaspoonful of the potentized remedy into half a cup of water from another bottle of the same water and stir it gently.
Sip 1 teaspoonful of the water from the cup just once daily. Do not use the water in the cup on the next day as it loses its potency.
Remember to succuss the remedy every day before you go through this routine.

You must stop all other medication when you start on this therapy and no Inhalers may be used at all.

Please report his response in a week.

dear linda,

hydrocortisone is a mild steroid right?

i wouldn't use it. from my experience, even if you start out with a mild one, it gradually loses its efficacy and you start to need stronger ones, and i suffered a lot from the side effects. i was applied steroid creams while i was a baby and i used some as an adult. made me kind of like a steroid cream junkie.

doctors said if "controlled properly, steroid creams are good medicines" just like on the site below. but please look at the side effects.

http://www.dermnetnz.org/treatments/topical-steroids.html

once you start applying these creams, it seems as if the body forgets how to naturally make its own cortisone. a bad cycle forms.

when you stop applying the cream, there may be a "rebound" in symptoms, but it would recover in time.

i'm still recovering but i feel a lot better now that i've stopped using the cream.
it's gradually improving.

while i was using the cream, it symptoms kepd worsening as a whole. which is why i turned to homeopathy.

Thank you for your timely warning to Lindabarrio. I feel bad about the babies who are prescribed cortisone creams when their Eczema can easily be treated and in time cured with Arnica 6c used as I indicated below.

You too may condiser using this remedy and if you do so please report response as soon as you notice some improvement which is usually in about a week after starting on the therapy.

I note that you have also used Homeopathic remedies and would like to know what the remedy is and what your response was.

I’m mainly taking Rhus Venenata for my eczema, and it might be working very, very gradually (as with all homeopathic remedies, I think it was chosen very specifically according to the total condition of the body, so it won’t necessarily work on your baby lindabarrio – I add this just in case.)

As for details please see the Liquid Remedies Bought in Costa Rica thread, which is coloured orange.

I will consider Arnica if all the remedies I’ve got clearly doesn’t work.

It will take a lot of time to figure that out of course (winks)

Thanks again

I meant to start that post with:

Dear Joe De Livera,

Thank you for your concern about my condition.

Dear Joe De Livera and Japan,

Thank you both for your advice. (Haven't been able to thank you earlier as had no access to computer). I'm was so happy to see that someone had replied.

As I have no knowledge of homeopathy, I have made an appointment with a homepath for next week. When I made the appointment, I told her about the Arnica advice. She told me not to use Arnica as this is for trauma.?

Also, I have stopped using the hydrocortison since two days ago. The eczema didn't get much worse. Would only use it for emergency. Yesterday, a friend brought me fresh aloe vera, which really calmed the skin.

Many thanks again.

Dear Linda,

I note that your homeopath is not aware of how Arnica 6c helps to cure Eczema and only thinks of it as a trauma remedy for wounds. I am not surprised as I too did not consider it for eczema till about 2 years ago I used it and was very surprised with the almost immediate response that I evoked on many chronic cases which had defied the attention of drugs and the decoctions of Ayurvedic physicians.

It is up to you to use the Arnica that Isuggested in preference to the steroidal creams that you have been using up to now. I have no hesitation in suggestion it as it can only help your baby.

Is it safe to give this in a liquid form (internally) to a little baby? What about cream, apply it to the skin, is that not an alternative?

Where can I buy it? Is it Arnica 6c or 30c that you first adviced me?

I hasten to inform you that the liquid dose of Arnica 6c is made up as follows and I am copying my instructions which I gave you which appear above just in case you did not read it.

Never use the liquid remedy which you get in Ethanol from your Homeopathic Pharmacy for adults or especially babies as this can cause some damage.

All you use is just one teaspoonful which you can feed your baby in the bottle separate from the feel or directly from a teaspoon.

Joe,

I'm sorry for not using Arnica, which you recommended. As I told you before, I have no experience from homeopathy and did'nt want to "experiment" on my baby. Anyway I told you I had made an appointment to see a homeopath. Afterseeing my baby, she gave me Calc-sulph, which I used for three days now. I stopped the hydrocortison and the calc-sulph has cleared the eczema by approx 50%. Just though I let you know.

Happy mum

Thank you for your report.

Keep up the calc sulph but please do not use the steroid creams.
