12days old infant: swelling between skin and head scalp
Dear Doctors, baby boy born out of normal delivery 12 days ago had soft tissue swelling on the right side of the head. when googled i hit into goose egg. Is there anyn homeo redemdy available?Thanks

Your baby's swelling on the head is not a condition that can be treated with Homeopathy till a diagnosis is made by a pediatrician to verify the reason for this swelling.

Thanks for your reply; pediatrician and child specialist both mentioned its due to labour during delivery due to the pressure the head went thru during labour; and as per them no medicine is required and this swelling will gradually disappear/harden as kid grows. Currently its size is around 2-3 inches diameter.Please let me know you need any more spedific details.

Can you inquire from your doctor what the contents of the swelling is.
Is it Blood or clear liquid?
There are some remedies that can dissipate blood and others that can dissipate clear liquid like a swelling.
I have not treated a baby so young with any remedy but if your doctor has stated that the swelling will reduce, it is best to let nature take its course.
I presume that baby is feeding normally.
Can you post a picture of the swelling on this website?

Dear Kadwaji: This boy is now 6 + months and with swelling cured in 2 months.
However he is now having blood,mucus green motions upto 5 today since today. Last one week he has motion 3-4 times with mucus and green color and today it started blood in motion. He didnt have pain/fever so far.He is biting often since 2 to 3 weeks and he is taking Baby food like Farex in addition to breast feeding. We now consulted child specialist and he adviced antibiotics and often mineral fluids intake so that baby let's the infection go in passing unrine. Kindly suggest if any medicine suites him.

Glad to note that your baby's swelling under the scalp is now OK.
It is possible that the real reason for baby's Diarrhoea is due to your starting him on Farex at 6.5 months of age. You can STOP the Farex and change over to Formula.
You must of course continue the antibiotic and the mineral fluids that your pediatrician prescribed.
Did your baby show signs of any gastric problem like vomiting the feed?

Yes. Gastric problem and gas coming thru anus since 2-3 weeks,but vomitting never there but some food,milk particles while belching.
Its not Farex, Its EasyFud,Rice till last month,and baby came from his home town to here. Here we EasyFud is not available, so have to change Cerelac 1(Rice+Wheat+dal - though local pediatrician suggested 2, as his weight is good since birth without any complications - now he is 8 kg.

Dr Joe, Can you please advice for kid ? He is now completed antibotics course today. His motions reduced to twice and once. and blood stopped.but since y'day he has mild fever,cough and sneezing. His stood is greensish and with lot of mucus. Since more than month he is biting and teeth are not coming out. Is this delay normal?
We resorted to Formula food like he used before its only rice. He is taking mother milk and activities are normal.

Your baby was given solids far too early and this resulted in his stomach protesting and the whole list of problems you listed today.
You can give him Nat Phos 6x Biochemic Cell Salt dose 1 tablet 4 times daily after a feed and report his response in 24 hours.
You will have to consult a paediatrician about his fever, cough with sneezing which can be due to a virus infection. This can also cause the green stools.
Do not permit him to be vaccinated right now as this will only add to his misery. You can do so after the second year.

Thanks you Sir for suggesting Nat Phos, we started it. Stool routine test showed reduced substances,mucus and m.bacteria(?). No eggs,ova,cysts & ph 7.0.
Today he has 5 times loose greenish stool. paediatrician gave some medicine for cold and stool culture report is due in 3 days. His advice is to stop breat feeding if his motions..and go to lactose free milk(soy milk)
Definitely changes in solid food,(which we undid now), bactirial infection (not sure if kid is responding to them now), change to wet climate and delayed dentition contributing..

Thanks Anuj. I think i can start calc carb from tomorrow once i complete Nat Phos for a day as suggested by Joe.

give him the complete course of nat sulph as directed.calc carb is the most indicated after reading the post ,you can give it along with nat.,only one question ,is the mother having desire to eat sweets or did she when she was carrying the child,and was eating excessive sweet products.

hope she is not eating any at the moment if she is it has to be stopped immediately,you will have to give her argentum nit 200 ones in three days since the kid is on is still breast feeding.give your kid argentun nit 30 2 pills three times a day.buy and keep calc carb.will let you know from when to start.

Thank you Sir. Motion are 3-4 per day with less muscus but still green with more undigested food like curd.
