Kid with recurrent throat infections and fever

Hello,
I am looking out a homeopathic medicine for my 2 year and 8 months old son. I would start with history and after that I would give the details.
Since last 6 months he gets fever on an average on 5-6 weeks. It starts with cold and blocked nose in the night, snoring sounds and then mild fever which results in high grade fever.
It started in July 2012 with high grade fever, I was out of town and the doctor that I consulted, could control his fever (high grade fever reaching up to 103.7) in 7-8 days after trying a lot of antibiotics.
After that he got another fever in august and then in September.
Similar in nature and treated with antibiotics because fever was not controlled and we were helpless.
Then in October the doctor we consulted showed us white patches on his tonsils. And He gave medicines antibiotics again. His patches vanished after few days.
I was aware by that time, and I wanted to break this antibiotic cycle.
So in the month on November when he caught cold, I consulted a homeopathic practitioner. Started medicines for cold and cough which suited him.
Later in November itself he had fever again and same patch appeared on his left tonsil. Though Smaller this time. I had trust and cured his fever with homeopathy in 5-6 days. Highest degree was 103.3 this time.
Though the fever was controlled and he was normal but that patch was still there. So the doctor started treatment for his immunity as the patch was pale. She gave one bottle of MUNOSTIM from Schwabe along with some biochemical tabs. These two are to be given twice a day.
He was all right for 3 weeks. Then he started having blocked nose and snoring in night and even in the evening when is head his down doing something he sounded as if his nose area of blocked though no mucus started coming out of nose.
I went to homeopathic doctor and we discovered that patch which was pale earlier is now two is no. she prescribed BC10 for this and along with this she gave some more medicines. Fever was still there and when it reached to 104 and his white patches increased in no. I consulted to homeopathic doctor and we agreed on giving antibiotics. Now he is on azithromycin and his not well but today interval in fever seems to be increasing.
I am still continuing with BC 10.

Now I want some preventive medicines for this tonsil’s.
Is BC 10 and MUNOSTIM are good choice? What should be done to increase his immunity and prevention from this recurrent fever? I am tryng to be proactive to avoid next infection.

I understand this is long process but I want to give it a try for 3-4 months and I have decided and if fever comes next time I would try all the things to avoid antibiotics.

His Details are:
Age 2years 8 months
Sex Male
Weight 11.5 kgs.
Birth Weight: 2.6 kg/He was breach and I had placenta previa at the time of his birth which corrected by the end of 8th month.
Salt/sweet he prefers salt.
Behavior: Stubborn, constantly moving(how high the fever is when fever goes down he starts moving around). A fussy eater. All milestones were on time. Does not like to cover himself in the night. If we coverhim he sweats. Constantly complains that he is feeling hot.
Medical condition right now: 3rd dose of azythromycin given, fever interval is increased. Nose is still blocked. Breathing from mouth. Making sound while breathing from mouth. Eyes show that he is not well.
BC 10 continued. Will start with MUNOSTIM once antibiotic stops.

Dear doctors please suggest what should be done in this case to prevent fever and recurrent infection of throat and tonsils. how long will it take BC 10 to show results any otherbiochemic salt which is advisable?

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
I have read your detailed account of your son's medical problems and after he is cured of his present throat problem, please post his case on my website:

www.joedelivera.com

and I shall then advice you.

Hello Dr. Joe,
Thank you for yor attention. I was desperately looking for an answer because I see homeopathy and patience is the only way for long term well being of my son.
So do u sggest I should continue with allopathy till his pathces disapper and only then i can start homeopathy? Is BC 10 good to continue?

After that I would post the same on your blog.

Also i do not see any way to post on your website. Please guide.

Regards.

Thank you Dr. kadwa for your reply. I assume this a biochemic medicine that you have suggested and i will have to ask the chemist with the same name. Is that so?Also i would like to know if it is preventive medicine for his susceptible throat and recurrent infections? Other thing is..As you have said no need for other remedies, please advice if BC 10 and other immunity booster are of lesser use.

Regards.

This should help prevent his throat infection. It is more effective than bc 10 and similar other things.

kadwa last decade
Thanks. I have started with it. His fever is not there but I still see pus cells at the left side of his throat which is bigger. left side is also not clean. Any remedy for the same or phytolacca will take care.

We will see how it goes with Phytolacca. The next remedy down the line is Merc Sol 30. But we should first see how he responds to phytolacca.

kadwa last decade
Ok. Dr Kadwa. For your knowledge I see a significent reduction in size of pus patch which was there on the back of his tonsil/throat. It's been 3 days till now. I ll report back after 3 days.

Dear Ms Mishra ,

Since you are already consulting a homeopath dont try the medicines suggested here as most of these your homeopath must have given .

If you give medicines it will lead to a mishmash and your homeopath will lose track .

The Munostim and BC 10 as given by your homeopath is more or less correct although the infection somehow is recurring .

Wait for the fever to subside and then resume with your homeopath.

vikas_grower last decade
Does he sleeps soundly at night .

Does he gets easily startled .

vikas_grower last decade
Thank You Dt. Badar baig and also thanks to Mr. Vikas_grower.

The current status is that his throat is clean now but his voice is still not restored to old tone. He sounds heavy and he is still snoring while sleeping in night. Appetite is still not good. He generally does not sleep sound at night and as far as startling is concerned...he is a brave boy who does not scream to see something unusual, he smiles and turns his face away swiftly but with this I would like to add that he is a stubborn fella and very angry as well.

Now as his fever is over, pus cell are gone, he is on phytolecca. What should be done for his immunity and preventive throat infections?

I agree that my homeopath must be giving some of this but she generally gives 3-4 drums together and with a little kid it's difficult to give them one after another with proper time gap otherwise they lose their effects . this is the reason I am looking out here...with all these symptoms I am looking for one remedy or two which should be effective and covering multiple problems.

Regards.

Mishraneha last decade
When you say he is 'very angry ', can you please describe that in detail , this is important to determine the root cause.

vikas_grower last decade
Dear Mr. Vikas: As i have already said he is stubborn, so in continuation to that if we refuse to agree to his demands he shows his anger, he cries with red face. He is hard to distract. Generally, he wakes up with crying and most of the time he is crying over one thing or other. he has also started hitting us.Please suggest. Also if you need any more infor, I will be happy to provide. Current situation: Throat is Ok. Stubborn, angry, sweats while sleeping. Choosy in eating. Can't sit at single place. Becomes over attention seeker especially when in public. Not obey any thing. Leader personality who gives instructions to other kids even at this age.

Nehaji ,

I expected this answer , there is more in this case than throat infections which are basically a pointer to a more deep seated issue which is manifesting in the behaviour you described.

If somehow through homeopathic medication we can calm him the infections will automatically go .

1) Any aversion to water

2) Any tendency to roam around in house without clothes

3)Which parts does he sweats while sleeping

4)What are his fears

5) When you say attention seeker in public , can you describe that more in detail

6) Any fears of insets , spiders , birds , dogs

7) Does music with beats calms him

8) is he senstive to touch

9) Does he allows combing of his hair

10) Any longing for fresh air

11) Can you put more light on his restlessness.

vikas_grower last decade
Also were there any emotional issues / trauma during your pregnancy .

vikas_grower last decade
Hello Mr. Vikas
As you have mentioned 'If somehow through homeopathic medication we can calm him the infections will automatically go. 'I would agree to that in a way that if he starts listening to us then we would be able to make him wash his hands more frequently and other thing like that which will help in maintaining better hygiene which is currently a struggle due to his not obeying personality.

1) Any aversion to water
No. He drinks when he is thirsty and has special affinity to take bath. So he loves water. He loved sea too.

2) Any tendency to roam around in house without clothes
Can’t say. I never leave him without clothes. Just he roams without clothes on bed when I am trying to dress him up after taking bath.

3) Which parts does he sweats while sleeping
Whole body especially head.In addition to that has aversion to cover him while sleeping. Though during day time he plays with sheets covering him up.

4) What are his fears?
Sound of fireworks to be specific bomb sounds. Leaving him in a dark room. He likes to sleep with many hand patting him , he holds my hand while sleeping so if I threathen him that I would not give you my hands, he takes it and listens to me.

5) When you say attention seeker in public, can you describe that more in detail.
He would laugh loudly with other kids, will talk to many people from our lap. He would completely ignore my presence, on the other hand I see other kids looking for their parents when in a market or at unknown place, he is not afraid. He never sits with us how much cajoling we do. He would just go after whatever attracts him and we would be just going after protecting him. He exhibits extra social behavior.

6) Any fears of insets, spiders, birds, dogs
He is afraid of cockroaches and some insects. Not from birds and dogs.

7) Does music with beats calms him.
He likes it. Many a times he tends to dance on hearing beats. He shakes his head to music.Calming him..never noticed,on a larger picture yes.

8) Is he sensitive to touch?
Yes. He understands the difference when I touch or his father touch him in the night. He also understand if it's loving touch or I am unhappy with him. He is overall a sensitive kid.

9) Does he allows combing of his hair
I think he does not like it especially when I comb his hair while cupping his chin in one hand. He simply refuses to cup his chin saying why you are touching me here.

10) Any longing for fresh air
He always loves going out. Can’t say if it is for fresh air. All kids love going out.

11) Can you put more light on his restlessness?
Restlessness may not be the appropriate word. He is just always busy in something or other. The way I see other kids sitting quietly with their mother, I never find him doing that. He would sit silently when he is watching songs in TV otherwise he is just doing something or other in the house. I cannot expect him to be sitting at single place and looking at his book.
12) Also were there any emotional issues / trauma during your pregnancy.
Yes. I had emotional issues. I had bleeding episodes twice due to lower planted placenta. So I spent later 4 months mostly in bed. Later placenta moved up in 8th month. But on emotional front, I was a working VERY ACTIVE woman till then who had to be on complete bed rest mostly alone in the house with a maid or two coming. It caused a lot of frustration and sometimes emotional instability .I used to be on laptop most of the time surfing or reading about placenta previa Many a times I felt emotional because it was my first pregnancy and I did not get much support from elders my home and I and my husband were left alone to deal with situation more me because I was the one sitting alone in bed whole the day. Later after 8th month when I was on my feet things were better and I enjoyed only that one month of my pregnancy. He was a breech baby may be because I have a cognitive defect, a septum in my uterus which was confirmed at the time of c-sec.
Hope the description above helps.

Also i would to provide this extra info that he is a talkative one at 2 years and 8 months , his speech is very clear, he narrates and imitates very very well. He is out little coping monkey. You tell him one thing and be ready to hear in his talks soon with innovation.
