Skepitic sister!

Hello all what else can I do?

My sister was suffering from a back ache whith a buring sensation at times. She was telling me about it and I told her to try some homeopathic medicine. I had some so I her some. She has never been the one who runs to homeopathic medicine. She would rather take allopathic medicine. Anyway...I gave her rhus-t and arnica both at 6. I told her how to take it and she did. The following day the pain had diminished but then returned after the 2nd day. When she told me about the pain I had asked her many questions. One was if she had picked something heavy? She said no. I couldn't think of anything that would cause this that she might have. I told her to go to a chiropractor. Well after a day I remembered she had suffered from a fall not to long ago and this pain is new. Next time I saw her i told her and she said that she had 3 verterbraes misloacated (chiropractor said). But now she says that homeopathy doesn't work!!! I tried telling her that homeopathy doesn't fix bones! But she kept on insisting that it doesn't work. Irritates me cause she see that my mother is controling her bp with homeopathy and she still denies it!

Any help on what I can tell her!??? How do you deal with skeptic people. I have encountered so many skeptic people on homeopathy but I had never really cared to change their minds so I wouldn't debate it with them. But this is my sister which I would like for them to be open to.

by the way my mother asked me why do I always do what is views by other as "bad" or not as "good"

I was home schooled (my choice) I study homeopathy (a passion) and now I want to go into osteopathic medicine (in the states its the 2nd form of doctors but they are not viewed as highly as medical doctors) Although if you ask about 90% of the population whats the difference they wouldn't be able to tell you!
Pretty much the only difference is the initials that the end of your name MD vs DO!

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
I note that you have used the correct remedy Rhus Tox for your sister' back pain but the potency 6c is too low for an acute pain. I would recommend the 200c to be taken twice daily in the wet dose made up as follows:

Get a 500ml bottle of Spring Water from your nearest supermarket.
Pour out 100ml
Drop in 3 pellets or 1 drop of liquid Rhus Tos 200c into the 400ml water
Cap the bottle tightly and succuss it 4-6 times by banging on your palm and look out for the air bubbles to fizzle up from the bottom.
Pour out 1 teaspoonful of the potentized remedy and sip it twice daily with the last dose taken just before sleep.

You may also use Arnica 6c made up in the wet dose in the same manner as the Rhus Tox. Keep a hour between remedies. Label the bottles to ensure that they are not mixed up. The Arnica can be taken for as long as she likes and you too may like to use it as it will help you to sleep very deeply.

Please report response in a week or earlier if necessary.

I note that you have studied Homeopathy which you state is your passion. I would urge you to follow your instincts and qualify in Homeopathy instead of in Osteopathy which may not be as interesting for you while you will get a lot of satisfaction out of helping people with Homeopathy which is the reason why I am on this and another forum daily at my age of 76 years. In my case I treat everyone free of charge in Sri Lanka where I live as Homeopathy is only my hobby but if you live in the US you should be able to also derive a good income from Homeopathy while also getting the satisfaction out of helping others with what you like to do.

Thanks Joe for your reply. I thought that it might have been kind of low in potency but I only had 6 and 30. Like I said it did help for a day but then the pain came back. Which I think if I would have used a higher potency it would have done a lot better. But she has dislocated verterbraes so she needs to get them aligned. Homeopathy cannot help her there.

Yes I really enjoy homeopathy and I try to help people as much as I can here in the states. Im still hesitant since Im not very knowledgeable on it as of yet. Although I have limited knowledge I still have many great stories about homeopathy and its uses. I want to study osteoapthic medicine cause here in the states you have to be a "medical doctor" to be able to practice anything else pretty much. I live in texas and I would have to work under a doctor to be able to practice homeoapthy here or unless Im one. I believe as a homeopath you need to know as much as possible about anatomy and the medical sciences this is why I would also like to study medicine. I have chosen osteopathic medicine cause their way of training is a bit different than that of an allopathic doctor.
Either way its hard to get into medicine here in the states so "incase" I don't make it into medicine I definatly still study homeopathy.

Thanks again for your comments.

If the chiropractor confirms displacement of vertebrae, after x-ray, you may like to bring in Hypericum also at some stage, because a factor contributing to the pain could be pressure on some nerve out of the bundle of nerves (Spinal cord) passing along the vertebrae.

You are quite correct in suggesting Hypericum but this will only stop the pain and I do not believe that the dislocated (?) vertebra can be helped other than by surgery.

However this is the diagnosis of a chiropractor who I presume did not use an Xray to verify this condition positively.

I hope that Jose will get this done instead of asking for help without knowing what the cause of this problem really is.

Chiropractors here are consider doctors although NOT medical doctors but they are able to take xrays and additional things.

He did take a series of xrays and is how he confirmed it. At times I think that bone manipulation can help and surgery can be avoided. In her case...I think it can be adjusted without the need for surgery. The chiropractor also thinks the same. I can more than likely give her medication to aide in the pain while she is getting this done by the chiropractor. Chiropractors can't rx medication. She says that now she only has pain when she stands a lot. Before it was most of the time. She has gone to 2-3 adjustments already. I will try to give her more homeopathic medicine.

Since Xrays have confirmed that the pain is due to displacement of the vertebra, you can keep the patient on the remedies that I and Sahai suggested for a few weeks.

You should warn her that a quick fix is not to be expected with medication and that it is rest that will eventually help.

She may also experiment with sleeping on a hard bed which will keep her spinal column as straight as possible.

If there is no relief from pain in say 2 weeks, please post again and I shall suggest another remedy that has worked with another chronic case that went back 50 years for which many forms of medication had been tried without success. In this case she could not sit for any long period as she would end up in severe pain. Your case is however different and the only treatment possible other than surgery which should only be the last resort, is to try various remedies which can help.

How old is your sister and how long ago did she get this pain ? Did she get it when bending over or how ? All details will be helpful.

Also can you take her Xrays to another specialist surgeon for a second opinion ?

I was looking at the business card that her chiropractor gave her and it says he practices homeopathy! I was very suprised that he didn't recommend homeopathy to relieve the pain!!!

I told her to take some homeopathic medicine but she is hesitant to taking some after taking the first does I gave her. It did help her but pain came back and so now she plain just says it doesn't work!! Its irritating to work with her! She know I give homeopathic medicine to several people in my family but she still says "it doesn't work!"

Anyway she's 28 and she works as a hair stylist. So she is standing up all the time. After several session at the chiropractor she said her pain has deminished some.
Another thing here in the states doctors are very hesitant to give xrays to patients. Although under law they are yours but they will not give them to you and if you ask for them they will kinda blow you off. I will see if she can get them and ask my friend which is and MD to look at them.

I know what you mean about skeptics LOL!
I have come to the conclusion that there are people who are destined to improve the earth and others that are just here visiting and are blind.
Its all the survival of the fittest.
