The ABC Homeopathy Forum

two issues

I have been diagnosed with an anal fistula which was drained. They then scheduled me for a surgery to remove it. The surgery was a week away. The night before the surgery I developed a bartholin cyst that became enlarged and infected. 4 days later my obgyn drained the cyst and started me on antibiotics. She has suggested that I have the gland removed since this is the second episode in 1 year that I have had regarding the bartholin cyst. I really do not feel that this is the answer and am looking into a homeopathic option.

hello

thank you for your response. Are you a homepathic doctor?
I am a female 52 years old.

I feel like things started going south for me a little less than 2 years ago. That is when I was stung by a scorpion 3 times. The 12 years prior to that I was essentially healthy. Right after the scorpion incident I came down with a really bad cold immediately followed by a ovarian cyst that burst and then an infection that no one could put their finger on but that antibiotics finally got rid of. The following 12 months brought numerous urinary tract infections of which I had never had before, heavy bleeding (periods), two bouts of the flu,( which I had not had in 12 years)the first bartholin cyst, then most recently two bouts of food poisoning immediately followed by an anus fistula and a second episode with the enlarged, infected bartholin cyst. I was very stressed out with my job about 2.5 years ago, then became complacent with it since I was retiring in a year. I retired 12 months ago and since that time, my stress level is way less. When I am at my worst the pain is fairly bad. I worry about the situation being something of a serious nature. I was very uncomfortable and almost embarrassed, frustrated, angry about the anus fistula ( which the doctor said had been there quit a while based on the boundaries or something like that). I do not think that I have a time of day that my situation is better or worse. I had to sit on an ice pack after the fisula surgery which seemed to help the cyst. I did think that some of this was relaed to peri menopause type stuff. I decided to try a natural path doc for bio identical therapy. She put me on a low dose of progesterone, armour thyroid, vitamin d, vitamin b and a liver detox. That did help me feel like I had energy and I began sleeping through the night. That was 3 months ago. I do not see a difference in the weather but I do find it interesting that I had my first bartholin cyst exactly one year ago. My mental set up according to me, I am type A, I do not mind talking in front of people, I am confident most of the time. I am a workaholic or at least use to be. I am a worry wart according to my husband. I do not like an argument but I do not shy away from one if I believe in something. I am caring and giving. I am optimistic to a fault. My husband always jokes that I cannot stay mad for more than about 10 minutes no matter what someone does. So I would say I forgive and move on most of the time. I am deeply in love with my husband and he feels the same about me. I always feel cherished by him. I adore my children and am so proud of them. I would say I have a lot of friends including my sisters all of which I make time for and enjoy a ton. I am thirsty often even though I drink a lot of water everyday. My huger is normal to light. I do not tolerate fried food very well. I do not sweat hardly at all. I never have. I work out all the time and do not sweat. I turn bright red and have come close to passing out. I use to have constipation issues but since I began focusing on my fiber intake I would say I am regular unless I have had a bout of food poisoning or something. Now that I am on the progesterone I sleep great most of the time. I did not sleep through the night when I was going through this fistula thing. I usually have no trouble sexually, although the recent medical issues have interfered a bit. I am a typical person. I do not consider myself better or worse than anyone else. I am on progesterone, armourthyroid, vitamins, juice plus and during this recent medical issue, augmentin for another few days. The major diseases that run in my family include genetic heart problem of which I am checked regularly for and my son had an adult form of leukemia at the age of 6. He underwent two bone marrow transplants. the second was successful and he is 11 years healthy now. I am 5'7' , 142 pounds. How I look is in the eye of the beholder. My husband thinks I am gorgeous. I would say I have aged well. I work at staying healthy and that is why this past 2 years as been frustrating for me. I am a good eater, but not a perfect eater. I rarely eat red meat, I get lots of fiber daily, I eat lots of fruits and vegetables daily. My downfall is sweets, although most days I only eat maybe 2 bite size pieces of dark chocolate. I usually get 8-10 hours a week of excercis, ( yoga, step aerobic, cardio strength building aerobics and walking/hiking). I hope this gives you some insight. I have very little experience with homepathic medicine and my natural path that I went to for the bioidentical hormone said that bartholin cysts are outside of her scope of practice. While I appreciate her honesty it left me without a natural way of addressing the current problem and what I think is one main problem that has caused everything over the last two years.
