so tired, need help!!

I have been so tired for so long. I have gone to my doctor mutliple times and he thinks that I am "insane" because every single test they do comes back normal. There is something WRONG.

About 6 months ago I got numbness and tingling all down the left side of my body. I was very weak and basically felt like poo.

I went to the ER and they did all kinds of tests and found me to be a healthy 28 year old woman.

My doctor suggested I take Zoloft because he thought maybe I was depressed or having anxiety attacks.

The zoloft made me feel AWFUL after one pill. I felt disconnected from by body, like I was watching what was happening from a different perspective. I got tremors, it was awful.

Since then the tingling on the left side has gone away, but I feel tired (to the point that I will just doze off at any time and any place). My period visits me twice a month and the doctors are just saying im stressed or depressed.

I need anything or any suggestions to kick this in the butt. I homeschool my children and its getting to the point that I have no energy to do it. I love having my children with me and love to teach them.

HELP!!!

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
Need more symptoms

Check for Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and "Hypothyroidism" on Google, and report if you are suffering from Hypothyroidism

Looked at the information about both. Dr. has checked for thyroid problems and has found nothing, all indications are that everything is within normal ranges.

From both lists of symptoms I have the following:

Fatigue, Weakness, Weight Gain and Increased difficulty losing weight( i worked out 5 times a week cut back on my dietary intake for 3 months and lost 2 pounds), dry hair, dry skin, some hair loss, cold and heat intolerance, horrible muscle cramps all over but mostly in my legs and fingers( sometimes I will get cramping in my throat area), depression, irritable, some memory loss although mild, abnormal menstrual cycles, I have a reduction in activities, unrefreshing sleep no matter how much sleep I get or don't get I still feel tired when I wake up, can't concentrate, headaches on the top of my head, vision blurring, sore throat, I have been diagnosed with IBS, Depression and an Anxiety Disorder.

The doctor has checked for anemia since I have my period twice a month and everything is a-ok. He doesn't want me on birth control with my family history of blood clots. I do take zantac daily due to horrible heartburn (I wonder if this is causing me to NOT absorb nutrients properly, I have read this with children who have GERD). I do take a multi-vitamin daily.

I have a family history of bipolar, autism, anxiety problems, depression, diabetes, blood clots, and high blood pressure.

I don't have bipolar or autism. The doctor watches my blood sugar results all the time and so far no signs of diabetes. I was checked at the hospital for blood clots in the lungs and there was nothing. I had high blood pressure when I was pregnant due to preclampsia but it resolved after the birth and has been normal since.

Need anything else??

Oh.. and prior to this getting this bad I had a case of strep throat that did not resolve after one round of antibiotics. My lymph nodes were extremely swollen (clearly visable).

I also had a severe kidney infection and kidney stones around this same time that I had to take a strong antibiotic for (basically I was on antibiotics for a almost 2 months straight)

Ok apparenlty no one knows the answer or doesn't care to respone. The shape of someones penis is more important to homeopaths than someone who is truely suffering.

Its not that noone cares; it might simply be that your case is too complicated for online solutions. I think the advice from homeopaths will be to see a homeopath personally.
It is actually a responsible reaction to not just sound off on any medicine or experiment on a person who is already having enough trouble.
Maybe if you say where you're from, someone can suggest a good homeopath nearby?

Hi
Most of your symptoms point towards "hypthyroidism" and "Autoimmune Disease", kindly read "mary shomon" books on both (google it), and proceed from there.....if you are diagnosed correctly, you are half way through. Once you know what's wrong with you, it will be easier for you as well as others over here to help you get cured.

Please be patient

your borderline hypothyroid by the looks of it.. this will NOT show up on doctors test and u need to seek help from someone who is train in FUNCTIONAL MEDICINE u can search google u need ot get a comnplicated tyroid test done privatly to test all elements of the thyroid and not just your TSH values which in come cases are not out of normal range even though the person is hypo thyroid.. from ure symptoms i would say with 90% certainty that u are. One can never be sure unless u are properly tested... treatment can be BOVINE THYROID and vitamin and mineral supplementation as well as a well chosen remedy...It is important for ure health that u take the time and money to get this seen to... Ure regular doctor will not agree with any of the above.. find a sympathetic FUNCTIONAL MEDICINE practitioner or docter..do not try to treat ureself with bovine thyroid as this is a very powerful substance which if used improperly can have extremely negative side effects..when used properly it will eleviate all your symptoms very quickly..if it is hypothyrodism that u have. Thyroxine the standard medical treatment for hypothyroid is a harful substance that can injure the thyroid even further u are best using bovine thyroid to treat the problem..
all the best connor

I am not a doctor and none of the above information should be concidered as medical advice.. if u have a medical problem then consult your docter

Hypothyroidism may in fact be an issue (fatigue, weight gain, difficulty losing weight, dry hair, muscle cramps, menstrual issues), and just because the blood tests are "normal", doesn't mean they're normal for you.

Also, consider candida infection. Taking antibiotics can contribute to candida overgrowth. This can contribute to fatigue, inability to concentrate, and bloating/water retention, making it difficult to lose weight. There are things you can take to help bring your body back into balance, but you will also need to eliminate yeast-loving foods like sugar and bread products.

Bottom line is it sounds like you need a different physician. There are practitioners out there (allopathic or "alternative") that are willing to take the time to help find out what why you don't feel well and how to help you feel better. It'll take some initial legwork on your part to find that person, but once you do and get your life back, it'll be all worthwhile.

Good luck!

Thank you all for your replies. I am sorry that I got upset I am just tired of feeling like this and everyone not knowing what is going on. I think I will try and find another doctor who will listen to me and my concerns. Obviously the one I have is not caring about my issues and is blowing me off.

I am from Colorado if anyone knows of a good doc.

Hope you get cured

Hello,

I am new to this board but saw your post and thought I would throw in my 2 cents.

I have had all your symptoms and more (long story)...but I was diagnosed with lyme disease. I am not sure exactly when I got it because I never got the bulls eye rash (50% of the people don't)..When I think I got it, I had several bouts of strep throat that wouldn't go away.

Lyme disease is misdiagnosed and majority of doctors don't understand it because the testing for it is so bad. Please go to lymenet dot org, and read, read, read!!! Do not listen to non lyme literate people! Please educate yourself and if you think this is a possibility then find a Lyme literate doctor from that site and get testing done ONLY by the labs that that site recommends. General doctors, general lyme testing, and even "specialists" will not diagnose you properly unless you go to LYME LITERATE doctors...

Lyme is treatable and is easier to treat when you first get it. I went close to 10 years before getting diagnoses and had medical files thick and was going from doctor to doctor. It wasn't until I "accidentally" went to a LLMD (Lyme Literate Medical Doctor) that he asked me questions and listened to me for 45 minutes and then said that he thought I had lyme disease.

I don't wish that you have lyme, but if that is the answer, at least you can start on your path to health!
