High Protein in Urine of my Dachshund

Hi

My dachshund had very severe abdomen pain yesterday and the Veterinary doctor said that it was kidney pain.

I took her to the hospital and her urine report showed her Protein level was high.

I will know about the liver function test only tomorrow.

She suffered from bladder stones earlier but the best news I got today after the ultra sound was that the stones were flushed out with the Hills Prescription Diet she was on for the past year and a half.

Her chicken intake is less than 5 gms a day.

Please help me out.

Thanks

Dawn

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
Please give her Belladonna 30 in the morning and evening for 3 days and see how that affects.

I reposted this today as I got the values of her readings of urine and blood test.

Wbc- 9,600, PVC- 38.7%, hemoglobin--9.7gms%, platelet 2,27,000, glucose- 66mg/dl, sgpt- 60u/l, creatinine- 9mg/dl, urine protein- 100(++)..This is the urine and blood report of my Dachshund. She is 11 years old and very playful.

She was treated for stones in her bladder on the forum...now she has no stones but the vet said that she has a kidney problem in its very early stages.

The vet is not at all clear why her protein is so high in her urine test.

She is on hills C/D ( Urinary Tract diet).

What can I give her to help her kidney not deteriorate any further.

Thanks

Dawn

Which remedy helped for her kidney stone?

Hi,

She did not have kidney stones ..they were bladder stones. A prescription diet by Hills is meant for Urinary Tract health and make the pet take in more water and it has a certain dietary additives that aids the condition...it is 'Hills Prescription C/d diet'.

However I did give her berberis vulgaris off and on as prescribed on the forum by You I guess.

You may put 1 pill or 1 drop in her mouth. Alternatively you may dissolve 1 pill or 1 drop in some water and give her few sips.
