Subchroinic Hematoma in Pregnancy- please help!

Hello,
I am a 29 year old currently 15 1/2 weeks pregnant. Subchronic Hematoma diagnosed early in pregnancy (6 weeks) by 10 weeks it looked like it was resolved (no bleeding). However, at 13 weeks, I had a large bleed and my OB say the hematoma at 5*6*3cm. For the last 2 weeks I have had three additional heavy bleeding episodes (on and off). However, I haven't bled red blood in 6 days. Today I went for my ultrasound and the hematoma did not change in size. They had me meet with a perinatal dr. who said the same thing as my OB: pelvic rest, no exercise. Other than that, there is nothing they can do but watch it. The hematoma is 'organized' and right near my cervix. I've read the Arnica can help absorb the hematoma. I am not currently taking any medications, besides my prenatal vitamins and floridix. I am hoping you can please help? Thank you so very much! I look forward to hearing from you soon! Hello,

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
Hi Lauren,

Please google the title: ' if Anyone is interested in a homeppathic remedy for SCH'

The site will show up as http://community.babycenter.com

On the left there is a support group for women with SCH

In the article one woman took advice from a homeopath and used Arnica 30c
3x a day for 3 days. After that her scan showed the hematoma was gone.

Someone else on there got acupuncture and that resolved the problem for her.

I think it best if you find a homeopath in your area with 5 years of experience to
monitor you. In person is always the best.

You can go online to someone who is expert in womens health, and a very
well known homeopath, naturopath, teacher , author. That is Dr. Judyth Ullman
in Seattle. She does skype and phone appts. She is expensive, but I would
trust her treatment.

Arnica is a very safe medicine- and if you wanted to try what the other person did
for 3 days, 3 doses a day , it is a safe choice.

Thank you! I actually did see that post on baby center.
Does anyone have any thoughts on arnica 200 c? I've read some people using this dose but not sure if it would work better due to the large size of my clot. If so, how often should it be taken?

Thanks everyone!

I read another blog by a woman with the same thing.
She took Arnica every day along with Sepia everyday-she had
a healthy girl, but child was a bit premature. She did not
state the potency she was taking , but I am sure it was low.

The lower potencies act more on the physical body. 30c is a good
mid range. You can always go up in potency, but there are issues
in doing a high potency and then trying the low potency bc it
can antidote.

Try the 30c and see what goes on.

Thanks again for your help. One other quick question before I start the arnica 30. After doing research I see some websites that say not to use arnica during pregnancy. Web md actually says it is used for abortion!
I don't understand why most sites say it is safe but others say it can cause miscarriage / birth defects

Please shed some light and help me understand.

Thanks!

Lauren,

most of the warnings on Arnica are about using it as an herb.
The homeopathic Arnica has no Arnica in it- just a water molecule
imprint.

Read this article by Miranda Castro on Arnica and pregnancy. She is
a famous British homeopath and she now lives in Florida.

http://www.mirandacastro.com/articles/arnica_in_preganacy.ht....
Link is not working right so just put into google- Arnica in pregnancy
by Miranda Castro.

The other women you read about got prescribed by a homeopath.
Obviously they did fine with the Arnica.

I think it makes logical sense that you have a good homeopath to
keep guiding you in your pregnancy. On this forum we only
have a couple real homeopathic drs who volunteer and no Md's.
On your issues now and in future, please get a real homeopath
with experience in pregnancy that you can talk to that you
trust.

I definitely agree. Id like to find A homeopath that specializes in pregnancy. Here in upstate Ny there are not a lot of options so I would need to have a phone consult. Do you have any other recommendations besides judyth ullman?

Miranda Castro.

You have a lot of good homeopaths in the NY area and New
England.( and good women homeopaths)

You are not going to find one that'specializes in pregnancy'.

You want to find someone that has had a good amount
of pregnancy cases and has at least 5 years of doing mostly
homeopathy even if they are a Naturopath dr. 75% of what
they do should be homeopathy.

Just start googling homeopathic schools in the east coast.
Women homeopaths on the east coast, etc.
