Loss of taste/smell

I have suffered from this on and off since the birth of my son 7 years ago. I had cold after cold and pneumonia post natally, so it could have been a build up of congestion. A specialist said it's to do with my lactating hormones acting on my sinuses!! I have seen a homeopath regularly for the last 7 years and although she has helped with most of my ailments, nothing has helped the taste/smell problems. It has gradually come back for longer periods (for the first 5 years, it was almost non existent) but still goes at night and at certain times during the day. It makes me feel very depressed when this happens. My homeopath gives me several remedies at once. I am currently on China, Thymus, Calc Phos, Nat Sul and Anthrac. Any advice or suggestions welcomed.

thanks Jacky

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
this is positive if it has come back for longer periods - this says to me that the homeopathy has helped.
carry on and hopefully it will come back fully.
have you been checked out fully for any ear, nose or throat problems?

Thanks Erika.

I did have a sinus scan after our son's birth and it came back ok. I was advised to take medication but due to the fact that I was breast feeding, decided to opt for homeopathy.

The birth wasn't ideal and there were many issues re: breastfeeding. Also when I was 4, I had a lymphoma on my neck which was removed. From then on, most of my hospital/ doctor relationships have been v negative, so I tend to steer clear from them now if at all possible.

thanks Jacky
