Thyroid deficiency

One boy (20y)here has thyroid deficiency and has been described allopathic medicine to be taken for the whole life.

The name of the medicine is Thyroxine sodium tablets by Eltroxin.

He was warned that if he stops the medicine, he will get some mental problems as a side effect.

Now he is afraid to stop taking it, but he would like to stop it and start taking some homeopathic remedy for the problem.

He is asking what to do? And also he is wondering if any homeopathic medicine will work while he is taking this allopathic medicine - for example if he needs something for fever, diarrhea or for some other problem?

Thank you for all help,
Visakha

Thank you, Simone, for your suggestion. I will look into his website.

In the meantime I would like to know if it is possible to stop this allopathic medicine even before we find a suitable homeopathic remedy for him or should he continue it along with the homeopathic remedy and then gradually decrease and stop it when the blood tests show some change?

Any experience?

Visakha last decade
Once you start the thyroid medicine you cannot just stop it-
it is dangerous. You have to have a homeopath who has
experience supervising any reductions in the medicines.

Hello Visakha.

Can you tell me a little about your son, and what kind of symptoms he has?

It can be difficult to treat a patient receiving medication for thyroid, but not impossible. It may be that you gradually move the allopathic medicine, discontinue.
When the right homeopathic medicine is found, the patient takes a high potence of this medicine, and a daily dose of the same medicine, but in a lower potence.

The fact that one can get mad, if you stop such medicine, allopathic, are gibberish. It is in the case as a result of the disease the patient becomes ill.

Thank you, Parakletos for showing kind interest.

He is not my own son, he is a son of my friend, more like my little brother. I have been trying to help him with homeopathy, but I am only studying for a short time - I don't have enough knowledge yet.

We live in India and this boy lives in a hindu ashram and has taken a life long celibate vow at the tender age of 18.

He is very intelligent and thoughtful and very spiritual, not interested in anything mundane.

He is very shy and also fearful and anxious, nervous and irritated easily.

Now because of his health he has become very indifferent and apathetic, he finds no pleasure in his studies or spiritual practises.

Mainly his stomach - weak digestion and constipation bothers him the most. But he is also diagnosed of subclinical hypothyroidism for which is taking allopathic medicine.

We have tried already many remedies, but just recently I discussed more with him and I am pretty sure now that he is China by constitution.

His nature and looks would fit that as well as the history of malarial fevers. And the anemia and weak digestion as well as his over-sensitivity to everything.

Oh, and yes the fact that he is every night while going to sleep fantasizing of himself a big hero.

We have not started to give China to him, because I would like to hear some opinions from more experienced people. Especially because he is on allopathic treatment for the thyroid.

But please read my next post,. where I will give more details for the specific questions.

Sincerely, Visakha

Thank you so much, Tamhankar for offering your kind help. I will write the answers for this boy, because he doesn't know English.

Patient ID or Name : Govinda
Sex: male
Age: 22
Height : 170cm
Weight : 55kg
Country : India

1. Describe your main suffering? (Describe symptoms)

Weak and slow digestion, sometimes nausea and gas. Constipation, he has bowel movements everyday, but very difficult, most of the time he has to use fingers to get the stool out. Stomach get distended and full of gas, which doesn't come out. Also just recently diagnosed with subclinical hypothyroidism. Anemia and B12 vitamin deficiency.

2. What other physical/mental sufferings in past, you had ?

Physical suffering - Mainly his whole life he has had stomach problems. At two years old he had a very serious diarrhea and around ten years old blood dysentery. Also some skin rash in childhood. From his 12 years on heart palpitation. From his 15 years on more stomach problems, prepyloric and duodenal erosion. From around 18 years old he has had some periods when semen is constantly pouring out. Also from 18 to 20 he had three fevers, maybe malaria. But just recently two weeks ago he had again malaria, which was treated with allopathic medicine. Sometimes stool has been black. One month ago he had some kind of lump in his breast and it got dissolved with Conium C30.

Mental suffering - he has a lot of tension and fears. He had a very difficult period from the age of 11 to 18. His big sister died when he was 11. His sister was sleeping with their mother at night and a poisonous snake came and bite the sister and she died. After that incident there was a lot of tension in the family and the mother was also mistreated/abused. At the age of 12 he escaped from home with his mother to live in a another place of India. They escaped in fear. After six month he heard that his father had died after being struck by a lightning/thunderbolt. He returned to their previous home to solve out some things with the funerals, land etc. It was very stressful and sad time.

After six months he again returned to his new place of stay. His mother put him to live in one spiritual ashram, because she didn't have any money to maintain themselves. Mother started to live by begging and working on other peoples houses. But here also mother was mistreated and this caused a lot of mental tension.

3. What mental sufferings / feelings do you have associated with your physical
sufferings?

He feels like he doesn't like anything, no interest in anything. He is most of the time irritated and gets easily angry.

4. What exactly do you feel when you are at your worst?

6. Which time of the day you are worst?

For the body maybe around 5-8pm.

7. What are the things which aggravate your suffering and which are those which
ameliorate the same?

If he cannot sleep properly, then the suffering of the body increases. And eating oily things.

Cool water helps little bit the stomach pain.

8. Do your think your sufferings have relation to any external stimuli (like, change of
place)

He feels better when he is somewhere else and gets worse when he again returns to his ashram.

9. When do you feel better, during hot weather or cold weather, humid or dry weather?

He feels better when its little bit cool, but when too much cold he gets chilly. In heat his body feels worse. And on rainy and cloudy weather he feels sad.

10. Describe your general mental set up? Are you Moody, Arrogant, Mild, Agreeable
Changeable, Nervous, Suspicious, Easily offended, Quiet, Arguing, Irritating, Lazy etc.

Moods are often changing during the day. He gets irritated very easily and angry also. He is very nervous and somewhat restless. He has a lot of fears, mainly he is afraid of dark and ghosts. He is also afraid of dogs and some other big animals. He gets scared easily, even his own shadow or some other things that all of a sudden appear in the dark.

He is very sensitive to everything on all levels. His body is sensitive to different foods and also medicine, gets aggravation or some side effects from all medicine. His mind is also very sensitive. He is also very shy. With those people he is staying with he is not so shy, even gets angry easily and shows it, but outside of their place he is so shy that he cannot speak to anyone - if someone comes to speak to him on the streets he gets palpitation. He says he doesn't know any 'small talk' or how to talk to people. He also cannot eat when others are looking etc. Very shy.

He is very intelligent and analyzing a lot, likes to read and study religion.

11. What are your fears and do you dream of any situation repeatedly?

He is very much afraid of darkness and ghosts. He also fears dogs and some other animals, but mainly dogs.

He doesn't remember dreams very well. But before he goes to sleep he is fantasizing a lot, he is imagining himself a hero or doing all kinds of heroic deed. Sometimes fighting with stick or with some other weapons. He says he is like creating movies with himself being the hero. This has been going on since his childhood and he is doing it a lot, especially when he is going to sleep but also a lot during the day. have any particular symptom surfacing after the medication?

For the thyroid problem he is presently on allopathic medication 'thyroxin sodium tablets 50' He has been taking it now for 8 months.

For stomach problems many homeopathic remedies have been tried, but with no or only a little temporary help. For example, Lycopodium, Natrum mur, Phosphorus, Pulsatilla, Arsenicum, Argentum nitricum, Staphysagria and some others also.

He has already tried many homeopathic medicine which were mainly chosen according to the physical symptoms. He would hope for a remedy that would take into account his mental setup and whole constitution. And he wants to stop the allopathic medicine for the thyroid problem.

Dear Tamhankar,

thank you for your care. This boy was out of town for sometime, so we haven't started yet.

Also I cannot get all the remedies here, we don't have flowers remedies or pro-biotic drinks here.

This boy had thyroid test taken on january and the result of THS was 11.007

Just now he took another test after taking allopathic medicine for 9 months. Now the result was 1.74.

It's very much down now.

How should we keep checking this, how to understand from now on, (when we start the treatment) how the remedies work?

Sincerely, Visakha

The homeopathy medicines are decided on the basis of symptoms and not on the basis of Lab report.
Pl start the treatment suggested regularly for 15 days and then give feedback
If patient becomes comfortable it means the medicines are working. then Lab reports become dispensable and redundant.
