SILENT GERD 3 month old baby- please help

Hi, my daughter is 3 month old and she was diagnosed with silent reflux at 1 month old. She was prescribed Prevacid which I was hesitant to give until her symptoms became worst and she was in pain, I gave her 3 days of Prevacid at 2 month old. She got better until now, she is 3 month old and all the symptoms started again.
Symptoms:
Arching her back
Coughing
Gaggin
Crying
A lot of difficulty having her bottle this includes all of the symptoms above plus refusing the bottle
Suddenly crying due to discomfort from the reflux
Moving a lot while sleeping

I started the therapy you prescribed to other people in this forum for GERD 36 hours ago. I have been giving to her half a tablet of nat phos 6x (the hyland's brand) after every feed, diluted in 1 tablespoon of boiled water. Since she is entirely bottle feed I am not taking any my self. I also was giving to her 2 drops of magnesium, 2 drops of chamomile 9CH twice a day and 2 drops of chakra 3 twice a day prescribed from a natural doctor (I am not sure if you are familiarized with this) since she was 2 month old. I stopped giving that last night because maybe it can interfere with your treatment.

As of her progress the arching of her back reduced 90% it seems that the acidity from the fluids reduced so she doesn't seem in pain. But she is VERY uncomfortable with the fluids on her upper GI track she is getting worst, not being able to relax, moving like a snake trying to find some comfort, gagging, snoring, congested, swallowing all the time, you can hear the liquid in her throat and crying and complaining with noises at some point of discomfort. Giving the bottle is getting harder, she is having a lot more trouble swallowing and refusing the bottle because of this.

In conclusion she seems better with the pain from the acid but she got a lot worst with the discomfort of fluid like in her upper GI track, having discomfort at all time and not letting her eat and sleep well.

Please help what should I do to remedy this?
Should I keep giving her the nat phos 6x half a tablet after every feed?
Should I change the dosage?
Should I give to her something else?
Should I stop giving to her the nat phos 6x?

Thank you

Lila

Hi Lila,

Try going to a full tab today instead of a 1/2 tab and
see if it is better after 24 hours.

Hi Simone, it's been 24 hours since I started giving to her the full tablet and she is not getting any better. Her reflux doesn't go away or improves, she still have trouble having her bottle, wakes up due to the reflux, an all the time she is very uncomfortable trying to swallow, you can hear the liquid in her throat and she some times breath thru the mouth and sneez and cough at the end she cries of desperation of being uncomfortable. I don't think she is in pain like I said before I think the acid is neutralized and the arching of her back is almost gone. Please help me with some advice what else I can do to help her? Should I wait another day to see a little improvement? Should I stop the nat phos? Should I give to her something else?
Thank you
Lila

What was the stool like before Nat phos, and what is
it like now?

Is she having regular bowel movements ?

Does anything make this better, warmth, pressure, motion,
having a bowel movement?

Her stool is the same as before, is green and solid, and goes every other day, she is been like this since she started with formula, what changes is consistency some times a little softer. The only thing that makes her feel better is when she is carried upright and distracted is like the liquid like (reflux) doesn't go away from throat, going up (when she is desperate) and going a little down in the throat (when she is upright and smiling) and the same liquid seems to be the one not letting her having her bottle calmly. And her pacifier helps her to calm with having her upright. When she is like that you can heard the liquid.

Hi,

Please get some Nux vomica 30c and give her 3 doses, 4 hours apart.
Use 3 pills, for a dose, dissolve in 1/4 cup of water ( btw it takes
awhile to dissolve)

Go back to nat phos with the 1/2 tab and report back in
the next day after you do the nux.

I hope you have stopped the other things you were giving her
like the Chamomilla 9ch, etc.

Best,

Hello 'fitness' or as you state in your profile, 'ONE WHO IS CALLED MARK'

One of the forum rules is you do not target a poster.
There are many Mom's who bf and who do not bf who have this
issue with their child. New moms have enough going on without
someone passing judgement on them and instilling fear about
the babies condition ( which is a common condition ) .

I was not trying to be insensitive and apologize if it came out like that.

I was simply stating the fact about how crucial it is for the baby to have mother's milk.

My post began with the sentence that 'unless there is a valid reason.....'.

Probably the moderator failed to read that and jumped to the his/her own conclusion.

Seemingly this forum is pretty unsecure in protecting the sign up credentials etc. My whole profile, email & password were hacked. I have updated it again with a new password.

fitness,

Nobody is disputing that mother's milk is certainly preferable, but your language was much stronger than that, and unnecessarily so.

Why do you think your profile was hacked? This is the first time I've heard of such an incident.
