pus in wisdom tooth

Hello Doctor

My mother is 51 yrs old and suffering with problem of Pus in her wisdom tooth. Dentist pescribed her 3 days
medicine and suggested to extract that tooth as one vein of tooth is got damaged and a little cavity is also there.

He also said that one that wisdom tooth get extracted, it will not be possible to fix denture in old age,
that's why my mother is so scared.

Please tell is it necessary to extact this tooth under these circumstances or is there any other treatment is possible for removing that pus and of that dead vein,so that no exaction of tooth is needed.

Please suggest some remedial measures.
