Acid reflux

My 4 year old boy Michael has had acid reflux since birth. He was on PPI when he was a baby. He has not been on them for at least 2 years. He has silent reflux where it comes up and he swallows it back down. He has a speech delay. He does not like having his head pointed to the ground. He seems terrified of falling. Would prefer his pillow cold. If you get stern with him he starts crying. He is very whiny. Also has a lot of snot. I gave him 30c pulsatilla and it was working. It helped his reflux but started waking up at night crying. Also became very oppositional. We stopped giving him this. He is very shy. He loves to eat American cheese and Mac and cheese. Please help his reflux. We live in the USA and can get the pellets in the blue tube. I prefer to use 30c for the remedies. Thank you, Cindy

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
What you are saying is that heartburn disappeared completely after Pulsatilla? What do you think is the reason he wakes up at night, do you have any idea about this? Does he seem scared at night, afraid of the dark perhaps?
You tell that he is very shy, can you give me some examples? How he behaves in public, for example?

He is afraid of the dark. We keep the light turned on when he goes to bed and after he falls asleep we shut it off. I think sometimes he is waking up because of reflux. When he was on Pulsatilla it seemed like night mares. He was moving around and yelling. He told me he was waking up because he did not like the dark. Maybe I will leave it on for now. He is shy because he won't say hi to people and turns away closer to me. Will not give eye contact. He also has a hard time saying some words so it impedes him trying to talk. Will not stand up in a group and talk. At home he does talk more but to strangers nothing. He will just look down.

I do feel the pulsatilla did help his reflux. He seemed better tummy wise. He was waking up from nightmares. Also was very disobedient. Would have tantrums for 20 min over minor things. Normally he is more calm and this year he is sticking up for himself. If someone takes a toy he will object. Before he would just let it happen.

Thank you.
This looks like Stramonium. Pretty much used for children who are afraid of the dark, and also having nightmares.
You can start by giving him a dose of Stramoinium 30C, preferably in the morning. At least half hour before breakfast.

Also remember that the diet can have an impact on acid reflux. It is important to eat healthy foods. Vegetables, fruit and wholemeal bread.
Mac cheese is only for Saturdays. :-)

Please give me an Update a few days after taking the medicine.

Dear Iqbal, and every one else reading this.
Homeopathy is not to cure the individual symptom, but to cure the person. It is a holistic healing.
I see that some have one special medicine for a special disorder, for example acid reflux. Anyone have acid reflux is put on the same medicine, for example Nat phos. Such treatment is not homeopathic but one allopathic approach with homeopathic remedies. They heal a specific symptom, but does not take into account the whole person, ie a holistic approach.
I treat my patients out of a homeopathic principle, ie a holistic view.
Therefore, the same medicine may not be for everyone.

(Mr. Iqbal.
Do you have a problem with acid reflux I suggest you create your own thread. Maybe I can help. Best of luck.)

I have got the medicine. It took them a while to make it and have it shipped to me. I will give it to him tomorrow morning before breakfast. I will do a dry dosage 1 pellet. I will let you know how he does on it. Should I keep doing 1 pellet every morning if he does well on it? How long and amount do you recommend?

Thank you,

Cindy

Hello Cindy.
Give him one dose, wait 3-4 days. One dose; 2-3 pellets.

Should not be given every day, only one dose.

I only did one dose and it has been about a week. His reflux seems better but did not completely go away. However 3 days ago he complained about being scared of the dark. I am wondering if I should give him another dose of 2 pellets. He is still very shy. He is always very snotty as well. He has allergies. He is always wiping his nose with his sleeve and making his cheek all red from the snot. I would like to give him some allergy med but have not because I don't want it to interfair with the remedy. Please let me know if you have any questions and what to do next? Thank you, Cindy

Hello Cindy.

Yes please, give him one more dose.
We can look into this allergy problem later, if that is ok by you?

Dr. P

Yes that is fine. I will give him another dose.

So not long after I gave him the stramonium he still has reflux. He is waking up in the morning and coming into our bedroom, which is good. He use to cry until we would give him a hug. He likes to be carried. Do you have any other suggestions for him. Also now he is excessively chewing on his shirt sleeve. I think this is a sensory issue. My other son use to do this but he has stopped for the most part. Michael told me he does this because he is tired. He could be but he won't take a nap. He tells me it is day time and wants to play. Since he has been chewing on his right sleeve now his face is red from all his saliva. So he has speech delay, vomiting in mouth and chewing it back down, and now chewing on sleeve. Let me know if you need more information. Thank you, Cindy

Hello, my daughter is 6 weeks old and has acid reflux what would be the amount to give to her of nat phos? And I just bought it from this site but it doesn't say nat phos 6x

Hello Cindy.

He likes to be carried? It is a major symptom, which refers to Chamomilla.
When he has a stomach ache, it is around navel? Pinching pain.

It does not look like Stramonium is the right medicine. Think that you should try chamomilla instead. 30C, one dose.

Have you noticed if his feet are warm at night?

Dr. P

He always likes to be carried. He will walk a little but usually ask to be picked up. I tell him no that you have to walk. I am not sure if he has naval pain. He vomits in his mouth and acts like it does not cause any pain. He is very warm. He only wants a sheet and no blanket. He tells me blanket is too hot. He kicks off the blanket.
Ok thank you,

Cindy

Hello Dr. P,

I have used the chamilia it does not seem to do much. He still has reflux. He has really red cheeks. He is still warm at night. Also now he has dandruff. This could all be because of cold weather. Please let me know what you advise to do.

Dr. P

Not really he still has reflux. Is there a different remedy to try. He also bites his fingernails and is always giving himself hangnails. Still warm at night. Likes the lights on when he sleeps. Does not like going to the bathroom will hold it for hours. He has a tantrum about going potty. He rather play than go potty. Please let me know what you think.

There are quite a few confusing symptoms for a child. Has he been given many different homeopathic medicines?

The symptoms you describe do not match, there are symptoms of 3-4 different medications.

Dr. P

The last homeopathic medicine was the chamilia I did not notice anything different. He has not taken anything for 2 weeks. He has taken other homeopathic pellets when he was a baby. He maybe is hard to diagnose. Let me know if you have more specific questions for me. Thank you Cindy

CindyG last decade
Okay, but my question is: has he got several different homeopathic medicines in the past? This is very important if I will manage to find the right medicine.

Cindy- just list what he has had in his
life up to now and when given.

He has taken several all 30c. I don't know the time frames. When he was a baby natrium muriaticum, hydrastis canadensis, Lycopodium clavatum, chamomilla and Cina.
One time this year he had a high fever so I gave him gelsemium sempervirens he seemed to think the ceiling fan was going to crash down on him. We have not given him this one again.

Probably at 2 years and 3 years he has had histaminum hydrochloricum, kali muriaticum, kali bichromicum, pulsatilla, euphrasia officinalis, mezereum. More recently he has had the Stramonium, and Calc Carb I think I gave him this one too then last the Chamomilla. There has been a lot. It is 4 years worth. Please let me know if you have any questions. Thanks Cindy

Thank you.
You should give him one dose of Nux Vomica, 30C. Wait 4-5 days then contact me again.

I still notice reflux but it may not be as bad. I only gave him 2 pellet. It has been 6 or 7 days since his dose. Maybe I should give him a liquid dose? It may have not been enough. I do notice even before the Nux vomica he has been talking more and has been a little better to understand.
Please let me know what you think? Thank you,

Cindy
