new born baby, loose bowels system

Dear Doctor,

i have a baby boy of 11 days, weight 3.100kg and he has a sound health. In first two days the baby could not get breast feeding due to lack of milk though now breast feeding is okay. But in 1st two day we gave him 3spoonful of cow milk/day. But doctor really rebuked for this. However now the baby's stool is yellowish, a loose motion felt, some water discharge along with the stool.

Also he sneeze sometimes 2/3 times at a time.

From 1st 3days it has been suffering from ophthalmia and we have to use eye drops and now 60% got recovered.

Please help & advise to improve his weak bowel's system.

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
This is normal for a young baby. ( this is from a site on breastfeeding .)As your milk becomes more plentiful, the stools finally transition from yellow-green to yellow. Nursing your baby frequently causes the stools to change color more quickly. Plus, the more you nurse, the quicker your milk changes from colostrum to mature milk. Once the stools turn yellow and have a seedy quality, they should stay that way as long as your baby is exclusively breastfed.

When your baby has a bowel movement, look for stools that are loose in texture, with the consistency of pea soup. You may even notice small cottage cheese-type curds. The odor should be mild and not unpleasant. If you notice a succession of watery green stools, your baby may be consuming more foremilk than hindmilk. If you make sure she finishes nursing on the first breast before switching, she'll get more of the high-calorie hindmilk and produce a more yellowish stool as a result.

Hi Mati,

1. on the loose motion- babies have loose motion until they
start eating other foods. This is normal.

2. What does the stool look like now- please describe.

3. Does baby vomit after every feeding- please give details.

4.Is the baby having gas pains?

5. Sitting on your lap helps, what else helps? rubbing the stomach
or putting a warm blanket on the stomach?

Thanks.

Hi Doctor,

4. there might have gas pain! During stool discharge it cries. the baby is very sensitive as soon as it discharge stools or urine we have to change it immediately.

5. Actually the baby likes to have it lap and likes to sleep in lab as well. but sleep is really less. Throughout night every 1 or 2 hour it wakes, cries and have to feed milk. it do not like to cover his head.

Hi Mati,

1. Give the baby one dose of Calcarea Carbonica 30c. Take 2pills
and mix it into 2 tablespoons of water. Let it dissolve.
Than give baby a teaspoon of this.

Watch over the next 5 or 6 hours if you notice any slight
improvement.

Report about this the next day.

Make sure you are not eating foods that produce gas,
like cabbage, beans, onions and so on.

Regards,

Hi Doctor,

I feed the remedy to my baby, but stools still mix up with some water. Also note i think there are three kinds of globules - small, smaller, smallest. I purchase smaller one. Please advise. Moreover for this 1 month baby it is very difficult to describe the problems. the baby seems very angry, sleep is less, it want to have in lap, not only lap we have to move or walk keep him on lab.

Head sweats during milking & sleep, basically back side.

Please advise.

b/gds,
Mamun

Hi Mamun,

Try this:

1. Give 2 more doses of Cal Carb at 5 hour gaps.
If there is any improvement at all in the next 24 hours
let me know. Do not give anymore.

2. If there is no improvement at all on anything
purchase chamomilla 30c, get the same size pills
you got before and give one dose the same way
as the Cal Carb and let me know the next day
what happens.

Hi Mamun,

He has some type of rash-let me get back to you on that.

What remedy improved the bowels? Cal Carb or Chamomilla
and how many doses have been given?

What do you mean by improved?

Let me know if the stomach pain is improving or not.

He looks very healthy, well fed and alert.:-)

Hi again.

Please start a new prescription.

Day one- one dose of sulphur30c in early morning. Dissolve 2 pills
in a quarter cup of water and give baby a teaspoon of this.

Day two- Get Calcarea Carbonica 200c and give baby one dose at
night. Make it up the same way as above.

Day three-Get Kali Mur cell salt 6x. Give 2 tablets once a day for
4 days. Dissolve the tablets as above in water.

Report back in after 4 days. This is a prescription from Anuj on this
forum who suggested this after I asked him to take a look at the
picture of your child.

Hi Mamun,

The baby is having what they call 'colic' and this is a common
condition with babies that they usually grow out of it by
4 months on their own.

If he is improving by 70 percent, then what you do is watch
to see if improvement goes backwards. When it does give
him one dose of the Chamomilla and then wait to see how
much it improves again.

If you give too much you will cause the symptoms to come back.
So it is up to your judgement when to give it.
