Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome

Hi

I have recently been diagnosed with polycystic ovarain syndrome.

My symptoms are irregular periods and occssional pelvic pain (and obviously cysts on my ovaries.)

The doctor told me I had the choice betwen taking two different types of pills. I had reservations about taking these pills becuase they might make me put on weight and I dont want this happening.

I am now seriously considering taking the homeopathic route to help get my periods back to a regular cycle.

Has anyone else used homepathy to help aid this problem? If so, I would be very grateful if you could give me some advice.

Thank you

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
I have dealt with many cases of this type , and as there seems to be a rash of diagnosis of PCO"s think there may be an effort by pharmaceutical drug companies to ""push"" some particular products.

You are very right to avoid this sort of product.

If you can give more details it may be possible to suggest a remedy that will help your problem.

Irregularity --- in a 4 month span what are the intervals between the start of menses.

Are there
any clots, tissue fragments.
is the discharge red or dark.
how long does a period last/
is there any discharge between periods.

Is there any feeling that everything might drop out.

Hi thanks for your prompt response, much appreacited.

The problem has been ongoing and occured in October 2003 when my periods stopped. I didn't have a period until July 2005.

I have not had once since July this year, which lasted 5 days and was odd; as it stopped and started and was a medium type of flow.

In between this period I have had no relativley no discharge or clotting etc that you mentiond, although
I do get the occassional yellow streak but not very frequently.

Occassionaly I get pelvic pain.

I have eczema on my hands and elbows. My skin is very dry and flaky all over.

I dont really get a feling that everything might drop out, its more I feel a bit fat, yet im not overweight.

I dont have any of the common symptoms of this conditon such as excessive hair growth or obesity.

Hope this helps! Thank you

Just to clarify - you are now 2 years into the meno pause? --- or not?

What is your age?

It may be that - because everthing is connected , in homeopathy - we meed to look at the eczema aspect.

Are you tidy or untidy
do you enjoy or dislike sympathy
Is there any itching
Do you like salt
Is your condition better at the seaside

We seem to be looking at 2 probable remedies.

a] Puls

b] Nat mur

It seems that they are related in that Puls follows Nat mur well.

[Ars may come into the picture]

Suggest you take ONE tablet of Natrum Mur 1m on each of three sucessive days- then wait for at least 3 weeks and judge effect and report.

We'll take it from there

Please, can anybody help with this issue? I have a 23 year old daughter with PCOS. It has caused great stress on her and a large amount of weight gain. She was on medications for awhile but they did nothing to help her. After managing to lose a little weight, she started getting her periods off and on but nothing close to regularly. She gets extreme cramping and bloating during this time as well as mental issues like depression, anxiety and anger. I am asking for anybody that has treated or has been treated successfully for this and if so, can you help with suggestions? I will reply any questions you ask. thank you
