Left Inguinal Hernia

I am 52 year old suffering from a left Inguinal hernia for the past more than 20 years. This hernia developed after I was hit on the left groing by a cricket ball.

I am slightly obese and my current weight is arond 95 kgs, which is mostly around my waist.

Till date the hernia has not given me any pain but just the discomfort. Because of this hernia I cannot exercise or walk fast, as a result of which I am now starting to get worried, since the need to maintain fitness, is now all the more necessary.

Fortunately, except for psoraisis on my body, I do not have any other complications like BP, Hyperttension, Heart problems etc.

Psorinum, Sulphur & Sepia are medicines which aggravate my skin conditions, which has to be noted.

Please suggest a course to reduce the size of the hernia and bring it under control. Also please let me know if it is possible to completely cure it with just a combination of Homeopathic / Biochemic tissue remedies?

Eagerly awaiting your replies.

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
Can you fill up the questionnaire and give details about your generals and mentals?

There are a few remedies that cover inguinal hernia but the one that will help you has to match your totality.

What Queestionnaire?

I am Dark complexioned, love the winter as a season, love sweets but am equally good at eating spicy food too. Have slight digestive complaints in terms of gas.

I am very sharp and agile mentally, but physically cannot keep pace due to ageing.

Does this suffice?

I am travelling out of station. Will revert back after I return back home.

Patient ID: Nitin Naik

Age: 52 years

1. Describe your main suffering?
Left Inguinal hernia from the past nearly 20 years, which is painless but increases and decreases in size. Quite substantially grown, which is quite uncomfortable.

2. What other physical sufferings do you have in your body?
I have psoriasis on my entire body, which has developed from last 10 years.

3. What mental sufferings / feelings do you have associated with your physical sufferings?
None except irritable nature due to itching caused by psoriasis.

4. What exactly do you feel when you are at your worst?
Irritable and short tempered.

5. When did it all start? Can you connect it to any past event or disease?
Hernia started after I was hit on the groin when playing cricket around 20 years back.
Psoriasis started after my doctor had given me a single dose of Psorinum 200 for some other treatment.

6. Which time of the day you are worst?
No specific time.

7. What are the things which aggravate your suffering and which are those which ameliorate the same?
Psoriasis - heat / sweating aggravates. Itching aggravates when tense or after getting up in the morning.

8. Do your think your sufferings have relation to any external stimuli (like, change of place) or any internal biological changes in the body, like, menses (in females)?
None that I have observed.

9. When do you feel better, during hot weather or cold weather, humid or dry weather?
Cold & Dry weather is best.

10. Describe your general mental set up? Are you Moody, Arrogant, Mild, Agreeable Changeable, Nervous, Suspicious, Easily offended, Quiet, Arguing, Irritating, Lazy etc.
Slightly arrogant on my own subject of work. Otherwise agreeable. Again slightly lazy physically but mentally very agile.

Mildly possessive about my family.

None. I am blessed with very sound sleep, even in the worst of situations.

Normal. Earlier very high. Most of the sweating is in the armpits and at the junction of the groin and the thighs.

17. How is your bowel movement and stool type?
Bowel movement is normal. No fixed time. Need to evacuate when I feel the bowel pressure. Normally once a day.
Stool is normal, i.e. not the long hard or knotty type. Sometimes soft, sometimes lumpy.

18. How well do you sleep? Do you have a particular posture of sleeping?
Excellent sound sleep. Normally I tend to sleep on the left side for ease of the hernia.

I must have taken at least 40 / 50 homeopathic medicines so far in the last 25 years or so. Psorinum, Sulphur & Sepia tend to aggravte my psoriasis and throw it out on the skin, which tends to start itching in spaots like herpes.

23. Describe, how do you look like? Describe your overall appearance
Dark Complexioned (Earlier wheatish, which has now turned dark on account of the psoriasis.) Slightly obese, much of which is around the mid-riff or the paunch.

You said you have taken many homeopathic remedies earlier. Did someone suggest NUX VOMICA in lower potencies.

I feel you are a nux vomica personality but you seem to be sensitive to potencies. If you think your psoriasis will not get flared up again by nux, you can try it in low potencies.

Start with 12C thrice a day for some days and see the response.

Thanks. Will definitely try Nux Vomica in lower potency. Should I try 6, 30 or 200? These are the standard potencies that I am aware of.

Just wanted to know if just Nux Vomica will suffice, or do I have to take any other remedy in conjunction or alteration.

Waiting for your feedback.

12C is the full form of 12. If no suffics is stated after the digit, it means C series.

Just try Nux for now. If you see your skin symptoms getting worse after a few dose of 12C, you can stop it.

However, you can also start with 6C if you want to be extra cautious. In any case, if you note a flare up of skin symptoms, stop the doses immediately.

Dear Rishimba,

I have taken Nux Vomica 6 and have had good results.

There has been a reduction in the size, but one thing is for sure that I will need to get it operated upon sooner or later, as it has grown so substantially large over the years, that all the doctors who have examined it have suggested that it should be operated upon ASAP, as it is so large that it cannot be retracted back completely.

Sorry for posting so late, but I was tied up with so many things.

Good to know NUX created a response. This will mainly reduce your pain. However, if the condition calls for surgery, you must not wait. Till that time, NUX will reduce your suffering hopefully.
