Colitis

Hello,

I have had colitis for 20+ years and was planning to write in on just that, but came down with a terrible sickness today that I first need to write in on.

I am 70 years old, female and I awoke this morning at 4am with these cold/flu (?) symptoms coming on.

I have been coughing up mucus all day, starting this morning and it is a greenish-yellow color and slimy.

Both nostrils are plugged, but I can breath. No running or mucus coming out.

I have a terrible throbbing headache in my frontal lobe, with pressure on both sides of my head and temples.

My eyes are watering heavily.

No appetite and all my muscles ache terribly. I feel thirsty but cannot drink for it causes gut pain. I have extreme fatigue as though I hit a wall and can't move any further.

Worse of all the colitis in my guts burns horrendously more than usual. It feels like I have a bunch of blisters in my lower guts that are open and alcohol is being poured over them.

All eating of food aggravates and intensifies the burning. Even water burns my guts!

I am typically sensitive to most foods, especially acidic foods, they hurt so I have to avoid them even when I'm well. And I have a list of allergies that could be 10 pages long. Even when I'm 'well', I'm so sensitive to acids, that even a getting cooking oil on my skin will make my guts burn or make my nose bleed. But since this morning, even water and alkaline foods are causing burning.

At the time when this started I have been under a great deal of stress preparing for company to come for the holidays and taking care of my husband and 100 year old mother in law who lives with us. I should have stayed in bed today when I felt all these symptoms coming on, but I felt I had too much to do and duties and obligations to full fill - so I got up and did them all so that I wouldn't feel guilty or bad about letting people down, but now am paying the price even more with the symptoms noted.

Do you have any remedy recommendations?
