Cat with old week old wound

My 10-year old cat disappeared last week. He returned last night with a shoulder wound that has abcessed, is hard and looks like it is from a very hard bite. He limps only a little (although I'm sure he was unable to walk for awhile with this type of wound).
I shaved the area and soaked it with warm salt water then sprayed it with an anti-bacterial spray I have that contains lidocaine.
I'm from New Orleans and simply don't have the money to pay a vet - what should I do next?
What can I give him to bring down the infection?
What poultice can I put on this to soften the skin and draw out the infection?

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
Use Bellis per 1m - 3 doses only

Similar to Arnica but more effective

Thanks so much - I'll give it a try.
The wound finally broke and drained and he's much more comfortable but it will be a very long healing process.

Follow walk-Ins advice.

In addition, flush the wound 3 times daily with hydrogen peroxide, even if the cat refuses this. Saved my dogs life with peroxide and homeopathic remedies from a dog attack.

If he was bitten by another animal he will also need Ledum 30C, 2-3 x daily until better.

P.S. Flush that wound as often as you can and keep it uncovered. Keep your cat inside until he is healed.

My dog had a hole in his chest and the bellis helped it seal in yes, 1 week.

If you can feed him some canned mackrel and add some vitamin C to it. Canned mackrel is cheap and you can get vit, c for cheap as well at any drug store. Crush the tablet and dump the powder into the fish. If he won't eat mackrel, give him cheap salmon.

Fish and vit, c will boost his immune system and help him heal.

Thanks everyone. As soon as this hurricane passes the stores will be open again and I'll get the Bellis. In the meantime I'm flushing it with a Peroxide/Distilled water mixture and keeping him inside and as quiet as possible.
He's just not happy ...
