Yeast in dog

I have a 6 year old dog that has had issues with yeast for two years now. I have gone through most of the grain free foods only to learn, starch from high glycemic veggies also cause yeast.

So I have been feeding raw for about a year and have just recently added a low glycemic dry food for the evening meal.

She had never completely gotten over the yeast but has gotten better; however, recently I purchased Nzymes to see if I could balance her system better. This has resulted in her becoming much worse with the itchy and damp skin and odor.

I am also feeding her 1 tlbsp of coconut oil and 3 gel caps of fish oil. She gets a probiotic as well.

I realize it should get worse before better, due to the die off of the yeast, but it's been a month now and she is just miserable.

I have been spraying her with ACV & water, Listerine, Witch Hazel, rubbing her with coconut oil, and rinsing her with baking soda and water.

I also have recently bred her and I believe she is pregnant so I am very worried to give her anything that might hurt the pups.

She is in good spirits, has a good appetite, very sweet, shows no signs of being overly tired, and is fine in every way except that she is itchy so badly she is chewing herself raw and losing hair.

Is there something I can dose her with that will relieve the itchy yet not hurt the pups she is carrying?

Where is she itching mostly

What is the odor like

What is she normally like behavior wise (personality)

Any issues with stool

How did the itch/yeast begin, any exposure, vaccination etc.

Hi!
She was itching mostly on her legs, but it has become an all over itch now.

Odor is...not yeasty...but maybe musty.

She is very sweet and loving.

Stools soft 50% of the time.

I don't vaccinate after the 1st vaccinations; I do titers after that. I also treat with Thuja after they are vaccinated the first time.

Itch began after feeding a food that had potatoes as second ingredient.

I'm so discouraged with her itching issues. I want to relieve her itch so much.

Thanks for any help!

Please give a dose of Sulfur 200c, just one dose and report back.

I wondered if Sulfur wasn't something I should give. I don't have 200C so I will order that and then give the dose.

She is pregnant, so is this high potency safe to give?

Thank you so much!

Animals & children have the strongest vital force and hence can tolerate high potencies very well. I don't think there will be any issue.

Thank you so much for your time! I will order, dose, and report back.

I gave a dose of Sulfur 200C two days ago. I haven't noticed any difference. She still itches about the same.

tlbrower last decade
Repeat the dose.

fitness last decade
OK. Will give another dose tonight and report back.

Thanks!

tlbrower last decade
ok.

It's been approximately 24 hours since I gave the second dose of Sulfur 200C. She is itching more now.

Keep me posted.

She is still very itchy. I haven't noticed any reduction in itching.

Since she started this after food with potatoes in it,
I would try a couple doses of Nux Vomica 30 c two nights in a row
to clear what the potatoes did. Nux Vomica also
has itching skin symptoms.. See what happens.

The Nux Vomica made no difference in her itching.

She is still experiencing extreme itching. She is chewing bald spots.

Is there anything else I can try?

See if Fitness has any more suggestions.
If not I would ask Anuj on here to try and help as he is very
good with dogs and uses cell salts plus remedies if needed
and he cured a dog on here who had severe allergies and
itch ( but it took a month or so)

Give a dose of Psorinum 200c and report back.

fitness last decade
Thanks for the effort and info simone717.

OK fitness, I will try Psorinum. That is a new one on me. I will have to order this.

tlbrower last decade
I finally received Psorinum in the mail yesterday. I gave one dose last night. It's been 24 hours since the dose and there is no change in her itching.

I have ordered Seacure which is a whitefish powder that is supposed to help with leaky gut.

Should I give another dose of the Psorinum?

tlbrower last decade
Yes, repeat just one dose.

fitness last decade
OK, will do. Repeating one dose of Psorinum 200 today.

tlbrower last decade
I repeated the dose yesterday. I think she may be itching more. She also has some bumps that have come up on her head and left thigh.

She is still spotted due to the scratching herself bald in areas. The hair has changed color in the areas where she itches most. It has turned from gray to a reddish brown.

The skin doesn't feel as moist as it did and her odor is more like vinegar now.

Feeling very frustrated and wishing I could stop her itching. Something has to work. I know this is an internal issue. I don't expect it to clear over night, but I so want to see improvement soon.

Thank you for helping me.

Do you think the aggravation is after the dose or something else.
