This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
Try a dose of Urtica Urens.

The remedy typically indicated for a rash from sunlight is Nat-mur, although the nature of the rash and any other changes to her health or behaviour might indicate other remedies.

i had already given the urtica urens and she said that helped all day until now and she went and took another dose because she said it seriously helped. is it ok that she took it again because the itching started again or is it not the right remedy?
thank you for your time

No that doesn't mean it is not right. In acutes, it is often necessary to repeat the remedy several times.

The important thing to watch for are a worsening of the condition when it returns, or any new symptoms appearing even if they seem unrelated to the initial set of symptoms. This usually means the condition has been suppressed.

However, if she responds well, with no new symptoms or aggravation of the rash, you could repeat the remedy over several days.

The other thing to watch out for is the need to constantly repeat the remedy because the complaint continues to return in exactly the same way, especially if the length of time the improvement lasts becomes shorter and shorter. I would be wary of continuing with the remedy if this happens more than 3 times in a row.

Well she just came back it my room and is scratching up a storm on her arms saying ..I guess it didn't work this time. She is so bummed we are here in Florida and can't go in the sun because of this. Should I try the remedy you suggested though i do not have that one in my kit I brought and I am not sure where I can get it where I am at before we leave day after tomorrow.

for this child of mine, it seems like there is always something going on with her. there doesnt seem like she ever has a period of time where she feels good and feels 'healthy'...it is the best way to describe it. she has a high tolerance for things but just wants to feel 'normal' and not have issue crop of all the time.

See if they have a Whole Foods near you
or a Vitamin Shoppe- you will be able
to get Nat Mur in 30c and that should
work.

Do you have 200c potency in Urtica, if no, repeat the 30c, three times a day and then see.

Otherwise, get Urtica ointment.

Is the rash something she often gets? If so, it is part of her chronic state and may not respond so well to treating it in an acute fashion. In fact there is a risk of suppression if it is approached this way.

It would probably be of benefit to have her treated constitutionally if she has a variety of other problems.

The rash has only been while we are on vacation and in the sun. She sat out by the pool again today and it got red and slightly puffy.THe U. Urens she took twice today and it helps stop the itch but the rash isn't going away.

We have worked with a homeopath before with a constitutional remedy but it didn't seem to help anything though I am sure there is something to help the myriad of symptoms she seems to constantly get. I would love for both my girls to find their unique remedy to help them not hurt anymore.

Yes there will be something to help, even if the previous homoeopath was unable to find a remedy for her. There are a number of different approaches used by homoeopaths and you have to find the one that best suits you and your children. It also pays to know enough about homoeopathy to be able to differentiate the properly trained homoeopaths from the others :)

If it is an acute then there is no need to go into the whole of your daughter's history. Just watch to make sure the condition is not worsening on reappearance. If it is consider the Nat-mur instead, or Camphor as another remedy known to produce rashes from sunlight.

Are there any other changes in her health, mental emotional or physical, that might help differentiate the choice of remedy?

as we were driving on vacation she said she seemed to have some blatter spasoming. and two nights (three days apart) she has had nausea and the first night she actually threw up once. That night she hadnt been in the sun at all.
She has quite a few food sensitivities ant she is careful to avoid and she thought Sundays throwing up might have had something to do with that but then she felt sick again last night but never threw up.

Sounds like there is something more going on then.

Might be worth giving a more complete case so that we can move to a new remedy with more confidence if the Urt-u doesn't last.

Thanks Evocationer for your clear explanations. I know she is very discouraged by this new issue as being in the warm sun was supposed to be a good positive thing after being in the bitter cold and snow these past few months....and she feels like she can't even be outside to enjoy it for fear the rash gets worse. I am sure she could benefit from a more thorough case history.
I find it very hard to choose remedies for my girls for acute things because there always seem to be other symptoms that don't seem to be related but probably are...

Even acute prescriptions can be tough to make. Homoeopathy isn't easy, but with practice and a good understanding of the basic principles, you can get through the sorts of things that commonly happen. This is a bit more unusual though.

Based on what you have described, I would still be leaning towards Nat-mur. The Nat-mur state comes on from disappointment, and it is typical for them to be hurt by something they love. Just my thought on it anyway.
