Persistent Pilonidal Cyst - Please Help

I hope you can help me. I am a 19 year old male. Last year I developed a pilonidal abcess. By the time I went to the doctor, as I had no idea what was wrong, the abcess had burst on it's own. I was given an antibiotic and soon after the problem seemed to disappear. 5 months later it started draining and it has not stopped since. It is very embarassing as I am a college student and living in close quarters. I have seen a surgeon and that can never be an option for me. I have tried an osteopath, but so far no luck. It continues to bleed and smell. Please help
I am currently under the care of an experienced homeopath on this site and we need help. Here is a brief synopsis, but you can reference Draining Pilonidal Sinus on this forum.

I started with Hepar Sulph 200c which only aggravated. I am taking turmeric daily. Calcarea Carbonica 200c is my constitutional remedy and when I take it my symptoms lessen but do not go away. I have taken Arnica 30c, which only aggravated. I was out of the country for two months and took Cal-c when my symptoms, bleeding and pus got worse. When I returned home, I took Calcarea Carbonica 1M. Still no cure. A week of Silicea 6x pushed a nest of hair out of my drainage hole, which is just above my anus. I imagine this was created when my abscess first burst on its own. While I was away I incurred two new openings, which look like boils at the top of my butt, near my crack. They continue to drain puss and blood also. After the Silicea 6x, I took Silicea 30c and then Silicea 200c. The Silicea 200c aggravated and my puss and drainage remains elevated almost 2 weeks later. Please help.

cg8080,

Try not to be discouraged. Healing can take a long time and apparently there is still material inside that your body is trying to rid itself of.

Trust that your body can heal and that it was designed to know what to do to achieve healing.

I am not qualified in any way to offer you advice. However, I have helped someone heal from this condition and can share a few things that we did that seemed to get results.

How is your diet? I recall that there are certain foods that should be avoided when undergoing homeopathic treatment for such skin issues. Certain foods are prone to produce pus - rice, peas, white potatoes, if my memory is correct. Try to eat more green leafy vegetables and avoid fried foods, avoid sugar. Drink lots of good water. Get adequate rest and sleep to support your immunity.

There are nutrients that promote healing and immunity-Vitamin E, protein, zinc, Vitamin C, Vitamin A, niacin and other B complex vitamins. All in moderation, mind you.

When you go home for visits, get in a warm bath with two cups of epsom salts dissolved in the tub. Do this often and try to spend about 20 minutes soaking each time. Some folks recommend avoiding tub baths during this type of health affliction, but I disagree, as it has been my experience that the epsom salts baths showed improvement in the site.

Herbal tinctures can be a good addition at this time. We had good results with echinacea mother tincture (we used Boiron brand).

We also used burdock root tincture, which is a great blood cleanser. A month or so before the site healed, we added yarrow tincture, as well.

It sounds to me like you have a great shot at healing completely, especially after the homeopathic treatment which prompted your body to push out that huge wad of hair! The homeopathic treatment has helped you progress to this point, and now you can help things along by choosing to add one or two things and observe your body to see if they help.

Hang in there. What makes it so hard, is not being able to see the end to it. Trust me, it will end. At your age, this should be the last thing causing you stress, the last thing taking up every minute, every thought of your day.

Try to keep your thoughts upbeat and positive. Visualize your body healing. Experience fully how you will feel when your cyst disappears and the skin heals over. Allow yourself to fully imagine it as if it has already happened, all of the emotions you will experience when your health is completely restored. Your mind is the boss and your body must obey.
