Ear infection in 3 year old

My son woke up last night at about midnight with ear pain. It became very painful quickly it seems, except that he was complaining of it about a week ago and I gave him Belladonna once and it was fine.

I gave him Tylenol because I haven't dealt with ear aches homeopathically yet. He went to the doctor today and does have an ear infection in his right ear. He had had a cold about a week and a half ago.

His cheeks are very red. He is kind of whimpering and calling for me a lot but doesn't really want to be held.

He is pretty low energy wise right now. His temperature is 100.5 F under the arm. He has been taking Tylenol today still.

I went ahead with the antibiotics just because he seems to be in so much pain and I want him to be better, but I would like to learn what I can give him from the homeopathic remedies so I can maybe help him heal from it more properly. I know it seems to be using conflicting methods, but he was in such pain, I just want it to be gone.

I am thinking that Silica fits his mood and symptoms. Would this be a good choice?

Hi - from the description you give I would try belladonna again.
