Remedy Use

Hello,

I have been prescribed by a homeopath who is also a naturopath the remedy Petroleum 200c dosage, once a week. I read about the sniff dosage, which I plan to do since I am very sensitive right now. What is the best way to dilute this remedy, am familiar with cup dilution, any others? Is this, the 200c, a smaller dosage for a super sensitive like me? This was through the Sankaran method of prescribing. Is it also necessary to be given clearing remedies for past prescription use or medical procedures as part of a homeopathy program? Or is there another method that can be used? This was under the classical system, I believe.

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
If you are going to use the Olfaction method, you can sniff directly from the bottle. I can't imagine you are sensitive enough to need to dilute it into water as well. I have never seen someone that sensitive in all the years I have practiced.

If your practitioner is applying the method that Dr. Sankaran and the other members of the Bombay group have developed, then the normal rules in the Organon apply. One remedy based on the totality only. There is not such thing as 'clearing' remedies in homoeopathy, there is only the remedy that suits the state (either acute or chronic). Past prescriptions do not still exist within you, so there is nothing of those to deal with.

Thanks for your reply. Hard for me to believe to, but have experienced aggravations from 3 cup dilutions before, or unknown from what they are. The bottle I have has a group of pellets in it, would I have to take one and sniff from another bottle? Having said this can I dilute further that 3 cups, will that still benefit me with 200c dosage?

You have experienced aggravating from diluting the remedy into 3 separate cups, and then sniffing it? That does seem unlikely. From taking it into the mouth I could understand. Olfaction removes a lot more of the potential to aggravate though.

What is your problem with aggravation though? Some aggravation is necessary - what kind of problems have you had in the past?

I have had throat tightening panic and anxiety, have had adverse/allergic reactions in the past too. Also a metallic taste in the mouth with heartburn and reflux. Also jaw clenching. The homeopathic remedies seemed to bring these symptoms out but on a lesser level along with diarhea. Would dilution help me experience this on a much milder level while still helping me to reverse this?

I don't understand though - aggravation is followed by healing. The symptoms should then be relieved, cured.

Are these symptoms you are describing your normal symptoms or are they new ones that appear after the remedy?

They are symptoms I have had for over a year, they seem to reappear after a dose of a remedy too. I am puzzled.

Then this is not aggravation in the traditional sense. Worsening of current symptoms can happen for other reasons, and if it is not followed by cure then these reasons need to be explored. If every remedy causes the same reaction, this has to do with you as an individual. It may be there is some kind of underlying pathological state, or that there is some kind of obstacle to cure.

If you were a true sensitive, then you would be developing new symptoms from the remedies (proving symptoms). Seeing your current symptoms aggravate on every remedy implies that your vital force is very rigid in its defensive tactics, and might suggest tackling the problem from the viewpoint of miasm (primarily sycotic). It is reacting to remedies like it reacts to everything - in the same exaggerated fashion each time.

The correct remedy will remove this problem as well.
