Ledum for horse with LymeI started using ledum 1M yesterday to treat my horse who has Lyme. I noticed an improvement in her yesterday, less pain and better attitude. Today, she's extremely cranky and irritable. It wasn't easy giving her second dose of the day, which isn't like her.
Could the ledum be magnifying her symptoms today?
Her chief Lyme symptoms are mood changes, sensitivity to touch, joint and hoof pain, and insulin resistance.
The protocol I'm following is 1 pellet 3 times a day for 3 days. I did slip up and accidentally gave her 2 pellets this morning.
Should I modify this protocol?

Everyone, animals included reacts differently to remedies.
When there is improvement you stop dosing and wait until
there is backsliding or improvement stalls out- or else
you overdose and bring things back.
Stop dosing right now and wait to see when this wears off
and improvement begins again - and then wait to see how
long improvement is lasting for.
♥ simone717 3 years ago1M is way too high. Why are you using that potency? You should be using 6c or perhaps 12c at the most.
Improvement followed by aggravation is usually a poor sign in homoeopathy. It should actually be the other way around.

♥ simone717 3 years agoI'm following a protocol recommended by a holistic veterinarian, who said to give 1 pellet of 1M ledum 3x a day for 3 days.

Just bc he is holistic does not mean he is well trained in homeopathy-
lower potencies are given more for physical complaints, and
doing ' protocols' does not take into account how a person
or animal is going to respond to what is given- as you can see this
is not working well.
There are homeopathic vets that you could probably talk to online
♥ simone717 3 years agoObviously this vet is not properly trained in homoeopathy.
Really if anyone is using a 1M for anything, it should never be repeated too soon. I would also only use 1M for extremely intense acutes, where they might be risk of serious harm or even death.
1M will also be extremely specific, and if the case does not suit Ledum in many particular and peculiar ways, it will not have any meaningful effect. On the other hand, 6 or 12c is much more broad in its action, and can be effective for things like bites and wounds in a wider group of patients.
♥ Evocationer 3 years agoLife is full of trial and error and your horse is now involved.
I would stick to what the vet said would work...years of what to do through experimentation is what I would follow.
simone717 is mostly on track.
I'm doing 1M Ledum and have noticed roller-coaster effects.
I love animals too and it's because of an article that I had seen years ago from a vet that used 1M ledum and noticed meraculas results is what spearheaded me into this unknown.
