severe menstrual cramps

I'm looking for help with severe debilitating menstrual cramps. I've never had a pain free period since I hit puberty, and I'm 30 now. I haven't found a suitable solution.

I know around what time my period is coming. A few days beforehand, I'm a bit moody and irritable. I'm aware of when this is happening and why, so I try not to act on these feelings. On occasion, there's some minor discomfort before I start bleeding but not always. When I actually start bleeding, I'm pretty much incapacitated with pain for the first two days.

I've tried allopathic medicine (birth control) and evening primrose oil. The birth control didn't help, so I'm off that. The EPO has helped a little, but not enough to continue. I've seen several naturopaths and allopaths, and none have been able to help.

My default right now is to curl up in bed with a heating pad for a couple days.

I also have an ongoing issue with quite a bit of facial hair, mostly along my jaw. My hormone levels all test normal.

Could anyone help me with this?

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
When you say you 'curl' up in bed for some days during your periods, do you really mean you bend double and raise your knees to touch your chest and lay there in this position?

Do you feel better in this position?

Yes, though my knees are about halfway to my chest. Fetal position on my left or right side. Doesn't matter which side.

This position makes life a bit more bearable during this time. Nothing takes the pain, nausea and dizziness away. Being still is better than moving, since I also feel very weak too.

No matter what position I'm in, I'm still fairly miserable.

I guess COLOCYNTH will cure you for good.

Whenever you suffer from menstrual pains and feel like curling up in bed, take COLOCYNTH 30C every 4 hours for those days. I bet things will be much better for you.

Later you can have this remedy in 200C potency once in a week for some weeks. You will get rid of your hormonal imbalance and possibly, cysts in your ovaries.

I understand all your problems are related to hormonal imbalance.

Hope you know how to take homeopathic remedies. If you don't, tell me.

Thanks.

Just want to confirm that Colocynth is the same remedy as Colocynthis.

How would you suggest I take this remedy?

Yes, it is the same remedy.

Buy liquid form of the remedy and take 3 drops with about 10 ml water as one dose.

Doses have to be taken in between the meals so that your mouth is clean, free of smell and for at least one hour before or after you don't take any food, water or even rinse your mouth.

As soon as there is an appreciable relief of symptoms, taper down the frequency and finally stop. Don't keep on taking the remedy even if there is no pain.

OK.

Is there any reason why the liquid form would be better than dissolving the pill form in water?

Because you cannot alter the potency of the remedy just by stirring. It needs to be in a container that can be hit firmly against an elastic surface (like your hand). This increases the strength of the remedy slightly each time, and this is necessary to keep the process of cure going forward.

The first dose is usually fine done just by dissolving and stirring, sometimes the second and even third may continue to have an effect, but it becomes noticeably less effective without succussion (the hitting).

How is it different to take the same remedy at the same potency in liquid form, add it to 10ml of water and hit it than it would be to take the remedy in pill form, dissolve it in 10ml of water and hit it?

Is:

3 drops remedy + 10ml H2O hit 1 time = 3 pellets remedy + 10ml H2O hit 1 time

I'm only asking because the liquid is double the cost of the pill form on the site I'm looking at.

Or am I wrong to assume that I would be taking all the 10ml of water at once?

You can buy pellets as well. I usually like people to get the liquid form as it tends to dissolve better and get absorbed.

In case you buy liquid form of the remedy, you will take 10 ml of water and 3 drops of the remedy as one dose. You should sip it up and spread it around inside your mouth. Let it get absorbed for one hour.

It is different. It relates to the way homoeopathic medicines are made, and why they have the effect they have.

Each potency is made by hitting (succussion) the bottle. Without succussion there would be no potencies, and homoeopathy would not be any more effective than herbalism. It is one of the cornerstones of homoeopathy. One could argue that homoeopathy wouldn't exist without it.

Each time you hit the bottle, the water 'remembers' the number of times it is hit. This alters the potency slightly, so it is stronger. When you hit it again, it adds those to the number already retained. So the strength goes up again. It is necessary to do this to compensate for the tendency of your disease to resist the power of the remedy.

A pillule, on the other hand, cannot be altered at all. It is stuck at a particular potency. If you keep placing new pillules into the water, they are at the original potency. To make that work, you would need to remember how many times you hit the container the first time, and then added more to that. It is easy to make mistakes this way.

If you buy pillules, you need to make a dosing bottle as well. A small bottle with a dropper, in which you mix 1 part alcohol to 5 parts water. Then you have your own liquid potency.

Menstrual cramps are really difficult to handle. To handle this cramps it differ from person to person. But there are certain things ways which everyone can try like you can note what kind of problems you usually face during menstruation. You can try certain positions of yoga which actually helps in handling cramps and is considered to be most effective of doing it.
