low vs high potency

I'm wondering about possible difference between taking a remedy in 1M (1000c) potency for 10 days daily vs. 10M potency once.
or any such variations like 200c for 5 days vs 1M once.

Obviously less potency over longer time frame would be more gentle, but reading about homeopathy i see that sometimes homeopaths prescribe 10M potency once instead of more frequent lower potencies.

also from various sources it seems to me that lower potencies work more on physical disturbances while higher potencies work on emotional / spiritual level?

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
You are thinking of potency like different strengths of allopathic
drugs. It does not work that way at all.

One pill of 30c on a sensitive person can be acting for a couple weeks.

Potency and dosing is an entire course of learning in homeopathy-
and cannot be explained in a few forum posts. The bottom line,
is do not self prescribe except if you have an acute illness,
like a cold or flu etc, where you could try a few doses of
a 30c and stop the remedy when you have a reaction to it-
then wait until you get worse before taking another dose.

That is not how potency works. The number of doses is completely separate from the potency you actually use - you cannot make 10m by taking 10 doses of 1M. Doing so could cause serious harm. 1M cannot become 10M inside of the patient, it must be transformed into a higher potency through the process of succussion and dilution.

To make 1M into 10m requires another 9000 steps.

Taking 1M 10 times would not change the remedy - you would just be taking 1M each time.

Potency relates to a number of things, and is chosen for a variety of reasons. It is too simple to say low equals physical and high equals mental. I have cured strong mental problems with 12c, and prominent physical problems with 1M.

Potency is chosen on the basis of:

1. The intensity of the disease/symptoms
2. The degree of similarity to the symptoms (or more exactly the matching of peculiars in the remedy to peculiars in the patient)
3. The amount of tissue change in the patient
4. The level of vitality of the patient

Potency creates depth of action, which is why we give less of the higher ones. They go deeper. The vital force cannot take too many doses aimed so deeply into the person. Low potencies act in a more shallow manner and can be repeated more often.

Evocationer thanks for clearing things up for me a bit :)

I'm amazed by homeopathy and im trying to understand it better, not self prescribe as some might understand and attack right away :)

I was not thinking that 10 days of 1M will make one dose of 10M. I'm wondering more about the difference in these two. Ie there is a case that indicate need for very high potency like 10M. Could 1M be used instead for a longer period? Or there might be cases where nothing less than 10M would push thru no matter how long you repeat lower potencies?

Powerball,

Great that you want to learn more-I am not attacking you.
There are many people on here almost everyday, asking
similar questions bc they are already taking things in high potencies,
and taking things daily and trying to use the Remedy Finder on
here to figure it out themselves.

Best wishes,

Yes different potencies do different things, and are indicated in different situations. A patient who is currently sitting at 1M cannot take 10M (it will be too strong) and a patient sitting at 10M will not get much out of 1M (may aggravate or do nothing).

A person not only resonates along the direction of a remedy, but the direction of a potency as well. They both need to be right to get a good result, or sometimes any result at all.

Both the remedy and the potency a patient needs changes over time though, often in response to the previous remedies given.
